Wedding Bells

----Wedding Bells---- ***Lanie’s POV*** I walked my sister to the double doors that were decorated with white tulle and purple flowers. Taking a deep breath, I looked back at her and smiled. “I’ll be going up the aisle with Will, and then mom will walk you down the aisle before taking her seat, got it?” “Yeah sis, I got it.” She chewed on her bottom lip a little, a quirk she’s had ever since she was little whenever she was nervous or anxious. “Stop! You’re going to get lipstick on your teeth!” I hissed as my overprotective sister side came out. “Ugh, sis! I’m not a baby anymore.” Sophia teased me back and I wrinkled my nose. Beta Will came up and linked arms with me. “You ready for this? Arsen is sweating bullets out there. He can’t stay still!” He grinned, whispering but Sophia had overheard. Hearing that Arsen was just as nervous as she was ironically calmed her down a little as she stopped chewing on her lip. “Let’s get this party started!” My voice was giddy as we opened the double doors and walked out as the chauffeur closed them again to hide Sophia. We made our way down the aisle with grace as music played in the background. The sweet smell of honeysuckles filled the air. Smiling softly, I secretly was extremely proud of how everything turned out. It was perfect for my little sister and she deserved it. I heard a small gasp from the crowd and saw someone shift in their seat, but I ignored it to play my part. Will and I parted and went to our respective sides. Shooting a glance at Arsen, I noticed that he kept fiddling with his fingers and adjusting his weight between his feet. The man had the biggest smile on his face but kept unconsciously adjusting his suit as if trying to impress his soon to be wife all over again. If anyone had any doubts of Arsen’s love for Sophia, seeing him like this would quell all doubts. Suddenly, the music changed to a soft piano melody. It was a song that Sophia’s real mother would play on their piano for her when she was little. Sophia remembered it and spent a few nights trying to recreate it on a piano with the help of a teacher. It was a nod to her parents and to make them feel like they were here today. A couple tears threatened my eyes but I swallowed them back down, watching the double doors open. Everyone stood up as Sophia and our mother walked slowly down the aisle to multiple gasps and many whispered compliments. She blushed, looking down for a moment as she smiled, not used to all of the attention. Peering over, Arsen’s eyes were glued to his bride with the biggest smile and look of love. These two were soulmates. There was absolutely no doubt about it. Watching Sophia look back up, her eyes met Arsen’s where they both stayed, staring at each other in true happiness. Mother kissed Sophia’s cheek and handed Sophia’s hand to Arsen with him gently taking it and helping her up to the priest. I left my post temporarily to help Mother to her seat before returning back to Sophia, fixing her train. “We are gathered here today to witness the fated mates and true testament of love between Arsen Evermoon and Sophia Shadowsong. If there is anyone that believes that these two shall not be wed, please speak now or forever hold your peace.” The priest began. Silence followed, as expected, and the priest continued. “The two mates have written their own vows and will read them now. Sophia, you will begin first.” “Thank you, sir.” She smiled brightly, fighting tears back. “Arsen, my love. My fated mate. My everything. Thank you for never giving up on me. Thank you for helping me realize who I truly was and for helping me become comfortable in my true skin and with Aureline. You have shown me true kindness, true love, and true dedication. Even with everything that tried to drive us apart, you never gave up. I love you from the bottom of my heart, with every fiber of my and Aureline’s souls. I promise to always show you the warmth and love you’ve always shown me. I can’t wait to be your wife and the mother to our wonderful pups.” Arsen quickly wiped a couple tears from his face as he grinned like a fool in love. He mouthed ‘I love you’ to Sophia as she smiled, her golden eyes glistening with tears that desperately wanted to escape. “Now, Arsen, will you please give your vows to Sophia?” The priest asked, a smile plastered on his face as well. “Sophia, my Luna. My fated mate. My eternity. I will love you in this lifetime and all of the lifetimes that follow. You have shown me how to become a better man. You’ve shown me how to care for others other than myself and my goals for the pack. You’ve supported me and followed me as I bring peace to all of the packs. You’ve shown me that Fate isn’t absolute. We can change our fates and follow our own paths. I love you, more than I’ve loved anything in my life. I’m so deeply in love with your smile, how your golden eyes scan a room to find mine, how you have won over not only my pack but all of the other packs in attendance today in such a short time. You’re an angel on Earth and I’m so lucky you are mine. I am also excited to be your husband and a father to our pups.” With that, he gently set his hands on Sophia’s stomach, causing her tears to finally fall happily. “Thank goodness for waterproof mascara and make up.” I thought, giggling softly. I knew Sophia would cry at her own wedding. “Do you, Sophia Shadowsong, take Arsen Evermoon as your forever mate? As your lawfully wedded husband under the guidance and love of the Moon Goddess?” “I do.” She took Arsen’s ring cautiously from Will and slid it on Arsen’s wedding finger, smiling. “And do you, Arsen Evermoon, take Sophia Shadowsong as your forever mate? As your lawfully wedded wife under the guidance and love of the Moon Goddess?” “I do.” Arsen took Sophia’s ring from Will and almost too eagerly slid it on Sophia’s finger, causing her to giggle. “With the grace and love of the Moon Goddess, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride.” With that, Arsen carefully dipped his new bride, kissing her passionately in front of everyone. He, then, pulled her back up as roars of applause sounded from the audience. Arsen and Sophia walked down the aisle together and through the double doors to go to the reception area. Mother came up to me and I grabbed her arm and walked out with Will. As I was walking down the aisle, I must have heard wrong but I felt I heard a man’s voice whisper: “Mate.” Surely, he wasn’t talking about me. I was a witch and not a werewolf like 99% of the people in attendance. I shrugged it off and walked through the doors into the reception area.
