13. MELISA BROWN

Hope Corporation

Sky and Nick landed in new York City in the morning and after some rest they headed towards hope Corporation to met Melisa brown. This is there first meeting in person, before this only nick and melisa’s assistant rose has been in touch handling all the business talks .so in the car sitting in the passenger side nick took out the information he has about melisa brown and planning on stating the information to sky after he has received his approval as this is their regular routine everytime they met a new investor, that is to gather all the information about him/her and let sky know.

“sir ,I have gathered all the information about Ms.Brown.”

“go ahead nick , I am listening.”sky spoke as he continued reviewing the documents in his hands.

“okay sir, Melisa brown is a prominent business woman in the corporate world. She is ranking number 3 as the biggest hacker in the world.she is the only daughter of Mr.kaleb and Mrs. Mary Brown . she took over the position of CEO of Hope Corporation when her father met a car accident and was bound to the wheelchair for three years.she was 19 when she took over and have recently turned 23 . She is also well known for her cold personality and respectful attitude towards many senior businessman in the corporate world.she doesn’t do socialising either.”

“okay ,got it .”

“sir we are here .”

“lets go then .”

Nick got off and opened sky’s side door and took the documents from his hands .

After informing the receptionist they headed towards the conference room.melisa and rose were already waiting for them.As soon as they saw them rose came forward to greet while Melisa kept seated while going through the contract.

“welcome Mr.Ryder .” rose greeted with a professional smile

“hello Mr.Nick ,nice to meet you.”rose spoke with so much enthusiasm that it shocked everyone present in the room.

‘You are being too obvious rose.’melisa spoke inwardly. And then to break the awkward silence she stood up went forward and extended her hand for a civil handshake with sky and spoke.

“hello, I am Melisa Brown . please have a seat.” When she spoke it broke rose imagination and then she finally came to her senses embarrassed but still guided them to their seats and went to fetch them coffee and snacks.

Nick’s initial shock calmed and then rest of the meeting went on peacefully.

After they successfully signed the contract for the cooperation of new branch of Ryder empire to be set up in new York City with hope corporation , Melisa offered to treat them to dinner to celebrate their corporation .after bidding farewell .sky and Nick were on their way back to hotel when sky questioned nick coldly

“you said she doesn’t socialise.”

Nick knew that that he has disappointed his boss and he would definitely be questioned but he himself didn’t understand why ms brown would want to treat them dinner because it has never happened before. Nick thought to himself ‘can it be that Ms. Brown has taken a fancy to his boss ,so she wanted to treat him dinner.’ But this was just a assumption nick didn’t dare to say it out loud.

“nick ,I am asking you a question.”sky raised his voice and spoke again.

Nick felt a chill down his spine hearing sky.

“sir ,I am sorry ,but according to my investigation this has never happened before.”

“is that so?” sky asked with a raised eyebrow .

“yes sir ” nick nodded.

“interesting.” Sky thought of something and then spoke.

8:00 PM

Both sky and Nick sat in the car and headed towards the place rose texted nick. After reaching their they were guided towards a private room .

When they entered they greeted each other after that when they were about to sit down ,Melisa suddenly spoke

“Mr.Ryder I would like to discuss some details of the contract in private.”melisa stated firmly clearly indicating that she only want sky in the room.

“ What do you want do discuss , just say it Ms. Brown .Their are only our personal assistant and no strangers.”sky replied .

“I will appreciate if your assistant can wait with my assistant in the next room .” Melisa spoke showing no intention of backing down.

Sky wanted to know what she was up too so he gave the signal to nick to go out and wait.nick obliged and followed rose out.

After the door of the private room was closed both of them settled down and ordered themselves dishes.

Sky patiently waited For Melisa to begin.

After drinks were served Melisa finally spoke

“ what’s your views on office romance?”

Sky almost choked up on his drink.

“what do you mean ,Ms.Brown? ” sky questioned annoyed.

“relax ,Mr.Sky. I am not talking about us ..l ” before Melisa could finish sky interrupted.

“there is no us Ms.Brown.”sky stated because when Melisa said us ,he unintentionally thought of angel and he didn’t wanted to have any association with melisa.

Melisa thought that the information about sky was 100% correct. He is really a aloof and cold person and doesn’t like to interact with females.So she decided to get straight to the point with him.

“do you mind if my assistant pursue your assistant.” Melisa said

Sky observed melisa for a few minutes try to see if this is some kind of trap ,but fails.

So he picked up his drink thought for a moment and spoke afterwards.

“that his personal life. None of my concern.” Sky stated

After they finished their dinner sky called nick and they both immediately headed towards hotel to rest.
