10. Still single

Ryder Mansion

(sky came home late night so nobody noticed him but his grandma was still worried about him she didn't knew that he went out but she came to check and comfort him in the morning when she found out that sky has missed breakfast and is still sleeping in the room.)

“son,wake up ,it's getting late." grandma muttered while sitting in side of his bed and caressing his head.

but suddenly grandma noticed that sky was murmuring something in his sleep so she went forward and tried to grasp his words and when she finally understood the words ,a gentle smile appeared on her face.

because the words were“ angel..angel."

grandma suddenly got excited and forgot all grieves and worries she had about yesterday .

“son ,wake up now .."

“come on son !"

grandma was both excited and anxious to know sky's thoughts about angel so she tried to wake him faster. finally sky woke up .

“grandma.. what happened ?are you alright? sky groans and turns to side, face grandma and questions half awake .

“son , do you like angel?" grandma didn't wanted to beat around the bush ,so she directly blurted out her curiosity.

sky was so shock to hear her that he jolted awoke and sat up straight ,his eyes wide open and mind clear.

sky wanted to disagree at first but when he saw grandma's eyes glistening with happiness and joy and so much curiosity, he decided to tell the truth .

so sky smiled and nodded

“yes , but why are you asking me so suddenly hmm?" sky spoke softly

“REALLY! YES!" Grandma raised her both fists up and hooted happily

than added with a chuckle while pinching sky's cheeks.

“ you were dreaming about her son."

sky was stupefied and then embarassed so he automatically started scratching the back of his his causing grandma to burst into laughter .

“ son you are blushing"

“ ahh , you look so cute when you blush "

she said in between her laughs

“ grandma , stop already .I am not blushing.it probably because I am feeling hot ." sky said and mumbled the last part.

when sky saw his grandma still showing her teasing smile he knew she was happy for him but was also afraid that she might cause some trouble.

“ grandma ,she has a Boyfriend so don't say anything to her OKAY!" Sky pleaded softly

hearing him grandma's smile stiffened and then she frowned

“why is it like this ." she uttered sadly

sky knew his grandma was disappointed so pulled her in a hug to comfort her and coaxed her like a kid and said.

“grandma , don't think too much , angel and I are friends now and I am happy this way. she is my friend you know na . and plus I have you so everything is perfect now we should be happy .. okay."

“ okay " grandma came out of hug and Said with a small smile

“lets have breakfast now, you are already late ."she added

sky smiled and followed her after freshening up

( the whole day has passed away and now sky is returned back from his office and currently is stuck in traffic again)

“sir, the meeting with miss Melisa has been successfully arranged , I have booked the tickets ,we will have to leave early in the morning."nick reported while tapping at the steering wheel.

“ okay I will be ready . pick me up on time. " sky spoke

when finally the traffic clear they started moving but at this time sky saw a familiar figure standing on the bus station .

he wanted to say hi to her but on second thought discarded that thought but then suddenly it started heavyly pouring .sky was remembered that he didn't saw an umbrella in hand .

“turn around " sky ordered

“huh sir?" nick asked confused

“ nick turn around I know someone standing so I want to meet."

“ ohkay sir." nick swiftly took a U-turn and then under the stopped at the bus stand.

sky opened the door opposite to him and said

“hey!"

angel who was currently protecting herself using her backpack was startled

“sky !" angel exclaimed

“hop in " sky said

“no need ,you keep going ,bus will arrive soon." angel rejected smiling

“come in ,it's raining very hard ,I will drop you off okay." sky spoke with no more argument tone.

angel gave in and obediently sat in the car.

when angel was settled sky commanded nick

“start driving nick."

“where to sir?" nick questioned

sky glanced at angel and angel spoke up sweetly

“hlo sir , can I call you nick first of all?"sky questioned humbly

nick was startled and for the first time since they have been working together sky saw nick lose his composure and show any emotion.

“hlo and umm..for sure miss you can call me nick ."nick spoke and nodded in the rearview mirror to angel

“ok nick ,well my name is angel you can call me that and thanks for dropping me in advance .I live in paradise apartment , block E ."

angel's words made nick blush as this was probably the first time he spoke to a girl and the fact she spoke so humbly and respectfully added to it.

“ok Angel, I will drop you off ,no need for thank you."

as soon as nick finish he heard sky clear his throat .nick saw and noticed that he might be pissing his boss now so he decided to shut up and drive .

“do you need water sky ?" angel offered sky

“no I am good." sky replied

After few minutes.

sky noticed that angel has been taking glances at him but never saying anything .so he finally broke the silence .

“speak up!"

“huh?" angel uttered confused

sky smiled at her and said

“you are hesitating to say something ,so I am telling you to just speak up , don't hesitate."

angel pushed a few strands of her hair behind her ear in embarassment.

“well you got me. actually I wanted to ask you that ..well why were you glaring at ash ,you know the guy from my college you saw him when you accompanied grandma to give me present." angel briefly explained

hearing her confront sky for her boyfriend sky's good mood just now was gone .his face looked gloomy.sky turned his head towards the window while he replied a little coldly to angel

“what ?your boyfriend complaining about me? why would I glare at him , I don't even know him."

angel might not have known sky for long but she was good at reading people so she felt that her question has unintentionally pissed sky off but what shocked her more the fact that he thought ash was her boyfriend.if would been someone else angel would not even bother to respond but this was sky , her crush and now she was his only friend so she had to correct him and explain.

“you have misunderstood our relationship sky .ash is not my boyfriend but my best friend.my feeling for him are purely friendly ,at most to me he is like a brother and the same is for him .we both are just friends."

hearing her give a detailed explanation sky felt his heart beat faster. but he was shocked with his this discovery and more than shock he was happy , he felt relieved . he didn't even knew that the fact that ash is not her boyfriend would make him feel so happy.

but he was doubtful so he asked again

“so ash is not your boyfriend ,.then who is your boyfriend?"

angel was embarrassed and chuckled

“sky are you teasing me ? I don't have any boyfriend , I am still single ."

‘Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness '...sky remembered the words his grandma used to tell him before about hope but for the first time he felt those words are real ... because for the first time he felt hope .

“really?" sky asked once again wanting confirm .

“yes sky , I am single ." angel replied chuckling
