Fooling around

1277 Words
Zach parked his bike a couple of blocks away and made his way up the street, trying to keep a low profile and constantly checking his phone to see exactly where the marker was. Not long now and I'll see her. Not that I could do much now. Early risers had already taken to the streets, most in their active wear getting in their morning jog or in their work attire starting their commute to work. He saw a slender figure 30 yards ahead wearing a black hoodie. He checked his phone to make sure, but he knew he was right. It was her. He kept a good distance away not to spook her. Not that she could get far with her phone being tracked anyway. She stopped walking for a moment and went up a small flight of stairs to the front doors of a modern apartment building and rang the buzzer. Zach crossed the street and watched her, hiding in the entrance of a very small alley way. It wasn't too long before a young, quiet, attractive woman opened the door. She was only in a night gown, and greeted the vampire her with a big smile, grabbing the collar of her hoodie and pulling her inside. The f**k? Zach thought. He crossed the road and tried to open the apartment building door. Which was very locked and well secured. He checked for any other way to get in. A fire ladder, anything. These new buildings don't f*****g have them, he thought as he tried to lap the building to find another place to get in. Ugh I need to get in, it's been too long that stupid woman would already be dead by now. f**k it. He thought shouldering the door and busting the lock. His satisfaction of getting inside was quickly withdrawn by the sheer number of hallways and apartment doors he saw. He wouldn't be able to search all of them in time and she would for sure hear him coming. The fire alarm caught his eye. Hopefully the disturbance will interrupt her breakfast. He smashed the glass and pulled the lever, the alarm blaring through the building. He quickly ran outside and crossed the road standing in the small alley he had been before, although not so sheltered this time. People started to gather outside of the apartment building. They were barely awake and very annoyed at this situation so early in the morning. He was startled to see the young woman he saw before exit the building, holding onto to the vampire's hand. But now she was only wearing the vampire's black hoodie. The vampire was letting her lead her and was holding up a black and white umbrella with her other hand. He watched on in horror and disbelief as the young woman seemed to hang off the vampire begging her to stay with her. He couldn't tell if they kissed due to the umbrella being in the way. But the vampire left continuing on down the street on her own. Zach quickly followed her, he was furious. Although he couldn't really understand why. The fucker didn't kill the girl which he was definitely expecting. But what! Was she playing with her food before she killed it?! Vampires are so f*****g disgusting. But also how the f**k is she out in the day! He was pacing behind her a lot closer than what he was before. He wanted to grab her arm, slam her into the wall and then, he had no idea, hadn't gotten that far yet. She is just so infuriating! He watched her cross the street and enter a convenience store, quickly exiting without the umbrella and in another black hoodie identical to the one she had before. He lost sight of her as she turned the corner heading around the back of the convenience store. He ran after her and when he turned the corner she was gone, not a trace of her. He pushed past a bunch of trash cans, scanning this cramped alley for any signs of where she might have gone to. But nothing seemed to be touched. He checked his phone which he hadn't done since pulling the fire alarm, and the tracker had stopped the program on her phone had been wiped. He checked his watch it was flashing level 5, before disappearing not within range anymore. f**k! May had to watch just for a second from the roof top of the young rugged man pushing past the trash cans trying to find her, before dashing off out of the area. It made her smile in delight. He thought he was so smart, stupid vampire hunter, she thought. Last night, after she had contacted Adam, she was able to think a bit more clearly. She was so relieved that he was okay. It was after that call she noticed her phone was responding a second slower than normal. She wasn't too technologically savy. Humans had a way to upgrade technology so quickly it was hard for her to keep up. But she had read about phones being hacked and the signs you should look out for. Although she couldn't be sure. She thought she would play a little game. If it had been hacked by a human, he would come for her during the day. He would think she would be defenseless and he would definitely revel himself if he thought a pretty young woman was in danger. Kaya was May's close… very close 'friend', you could say. She was a vampire victim years ago and due to the heinous attack she endured, May felt obligated to monitor her for years after. Kaya couldn't remember the vampire attack, of course, and didn't know May was a vampire at all. But she noticed May hanging out across the street from time to time and she approached her, and they started to get to know each other a bit better. Well for May it was only very surface level stuff. She was never the type to get to close with people emotionally. But when Kaya initiated a s****l relationship, May obliged. Kaya was gorgeous with her beautiful skin, brown eyes and beautiful dark hair. And it was a perfect way for May to let off some steam. And Kaya was very good at it. May only had to use-compulsion-a minimal amount to achieve what she wanted out of their 'meet-ups'. Kaya became a lot more keen on May as time went on. Getting sad when she had to go. I guess it is expected May thought. Humans do get attached very easily. Overall, though, Kaya seemed to be happy with their arrangement. May would come to her door when she wanted to see her. It just had to be a day Kaya was meant to have early morning yoga session. And if she wanted, which was all the times May knocked apparently. Kaya would miss her morning yoga session for a different kind of yoga and snack session. May knew that this meeting would be the last. It was disappointing but necessary. There were too many people after her now. She couldn't put Kaya at risk, it wasn't fair to a human who didn't know anything. Now, hopefully, that will be the last time I see him. She clicked on her phone and looked up the shipping company that she believed was responsible for the vampiric sirens getting into New York. If she could find out where they were coming from she could cut it off at the source, and find out more information about what was going on with the Krsnk.
