In control

May sat in the hospital chair in the west wing of the Krsnk Hospital. She was hooked up to a blood drip and was quite pleased with herself. She almost started kicking her feet with joy. But she would never allow herself to be so childlike, even if she was alone. There was so much she was able to mark off her checklist. Before she was interrupted at the gentleman's club last night, she was able to get some information out of Thomas. The next shipment of the same containers was leaving a dock in Florida in two days. Scheduled to hit New York City by next week. She was close to getting the exact times before those shots were fired and ruined it all. Florida though. May hated Florida. To be fair, as a New Yorker there weren't a lot of places May didn't hate. She told herself that it was humidity and the slow pace of Florida was why she didn't like it so much. But truth be told, she hated it because it wasn't New York. She had messaged Adam the details of the shipment and where the mixed blood sirens were going to be. Although he was unsure if he would show up to assist her or was even interested. He was currently involved with something in Alaska, apparently. Details I will surely get in full later. Adam could definitely talk, it was never like him to keep a secret. She thought. An urgent phone call came through late last night as well. A phone call she was expecting but trying to avoid from Albert - her boss. Of course, he wanted her to return to the docks on the same day the shipment was sent to come in to New York. Another attempt to ambush me, of course, May thought. She was able to turn the assignment down, telling Albert about the vampire hunter that was after her, and how she was concerned that he could bring a lot of trouble for them. She was able to convince him that the vampire hunter was her top priority. After all, he was a threat to us all, even Albert himself. She didn't have any intention of spending any more of her time and effort on the vampire hunter. She was pretty sure she had sent him a clear message last night, and he wasn't going to bother her again any time soon. She had the control, she had the power. She smiled to herself. The drip was finishing up. All that compulsion really drains me, makes the virus so much more difficult to contain. But with some fresh blood I feel so much better. A lot more in control. She started recalling moments from last night. How it was so hard to keep her cool and come off so confident in front of the hunter. The police stuff was easy; it came back to her like riding a bike, from her time as a human, before she was turned. But touching his arm handcuffing him. I couldn't smell him last night, but it was like the memory of his scent, his hot touch, the look in his eyes when I walked towards him. It was a lot. May pinched the specialized needle out of her arm as the bag and line were emptied. She rolled the sleeve of her black hoodie down her arm and started thinking about maybe setting up a security system in the docks to document any activity that occurred while she was away. Then she froze. Heavy footsteps were coming up the corridor outside the room. But no heartbeat. No, she thought. He wouldn't. Not in this hospital. The amount of surveillance, the number of humans that were compelled to take care of vampires here. He wouldn't show up, even in the daytime. May checked in her weapons at the reception desks as usual, as it was part of the protocol here. She started to go through the draws of the room and was able to come up with a scalpel. Her heart was beating loudly in her chest and she held her breath. Slowly making her way towards the door and then flicking the light switch off. She hid in the corner of the room behind one of the curtains that divided the hospital chairs. She held the scalpel with two hands, ready and waiting in the shadows. "Good morning Whisper", she heard his smooth voice slide through the air gaps of the room's door. "Weren't expecting me, were you?" He continued. Don't give your position away, she thought to herself. Holding her breath. The lights came on. His footsteps were coming closer. "You have made a grave mistake, my dear. Thinking that you. Are in control of me. Darling. You don't even have control of yourself." May watched through the slits of the curtain the vampire hunter rip his shirt, showing his perfectly molded chest. His tanned skin and tattoos coming up from over his shoulders from his back. Then, like a train, his scent hit her. It was lustrous, even more tempting than she remembered. The shock made her drop the scalpel. The clanging as it hit the floor gave her position away instantly. She wouldn't have been able to do anything with it anyway. She was fighting the virus. It wanted to drain him completely now. She held both hands over her nose and mouth, trying to dim the intense scent. The hunter pulled the curtain back to look her dead in the eyes and slowly and confidently walked towards her. Every inch he got closer made it torturous for May to hold herself back. Her eyes were flashing red as she tried to fight the virus for control. Her breathing was rapid. She backed away from him, her fangs elongated. She dung her now black claws into the wall to stop her from lunging at his throat. The vampire hunter didn't stop, he had no fear at all. He put his muscular arms on the wall above her. Now towering over her, he lent into her, his dark eyes seeming to enjoy that she was barely able to contain herself. "See what I mean" He whispered to her and lent even more into her. "I know you can't bite human flesh. It will break your vows. So you can't have me that way." He pulled a strand of hair out from behind her ear and rubbed it between his fingers. "But maybe you can have me another way." He purred in her ear. May was shaking. The bloodlust wasn't easing at all, especially with him being so close. She could clearly hear his heart beat now, and it was maddening. "Do you want to have me May?" "Yes!" She said, almost yelling. "Make it stop!" It was a struggle for her to get the words out. She was so breathless. A wicked grin spread across the hunter's face. "This is going to be so much fun May". He said, his voice could melt ice. "Look at me," he ordered. May shook her head, looking at her feet. She didn't know how to get out of this without killing him and she really didn't want to. One drop of blood, and it will all be over. No he can't do this. I have control. I do. I'm stronger than this! May was able to retract her fangs and bring her eyes back to her normal brown. She looked up at him for her glare to meet his. She was still twitching, not fully able to contain it. Her breathing returned to normal and for the moment she was able to control it. He frowned at her, only an inch away from her face. She went to punch him in the gut, and he caught her arm and slammed it back against the wall. "Mmm Naughty. You need to be better behaved." Her body reacted to his hot touch. She couldn't help it. Her claws retracted again, and she had to fight herself not to attempt to s***h his throat.
