Zach aimed the gun at the vampire that hadn't left his mind in the last 24 hours. This is all coming to an end now. She didn't flinch. "You vampire hunters. Never do a perimeter check, " she said as she walked towards him, staring down the barrel of the gun. Not even a hint of fear. "What do you mean?" He questioned through gritted teeth. She held up three fingers and counted down. "Three, Two, One." Sirens blared from outside, and blue and reds lights swirled around the room from outside. "You going to be able to explain to the cops why you shot an exotic dancer?" Zach froze. He could barely think straight with her looking like that. Her mouth moving like that. But how on earth are the police here already! "The police precinct is literally down the street." She raised her eyebrows. "Not from around here, are you?" She walked towards him slowly. His heart raced. "If you want to get out of this and not spend a night in a cell, you follow my lead," She whispered. "Or maybe you won't have to." Before he could blink, she grabbed his arm with the gun, pushed it upwards, and bent it behind his back, pushing him to a kneeling position on the ground, letting his gun hit the ground. He could have stopped her. He was definitely stronger than her. But unfortunately, she was right. At least, that is what he told himself. With the police right, there wasn't enough money or sweet talk in the world that could make them turn a blind eye to a dead "dancer." He grunted at her, noticing her cold grip pressing his wrists together behind his back as he was kneeling on the floor. Three police officers burst through the doors their guns drawn. "FREEZE NOBODY MOVE!" They yelled. Zach turned his head so he could look at them.
"You have the right to remain silent, anything you say may be used against you in a court of law, you have a right to consult an attorney before and during interrogation, if you cannot afford an attorney one will be appointed to you." The female vampire dictated as if she had done this million times before. He watched as all three of the policemen jaws hit the floor, and one of them even tilted his head. Completely memorised at the girl in red lingerie. He felt rage erupt from his gut.
Turn the f**k away, he thought. "O sorry Ma'am". The police lowered their weapons. "Sorry fellas, Detective Morris, Midtown north, investigation plainclothes operation. If you can believe it." She responded her voice so smooth.
"Apologies Ma'am, we weren't aware that any operation was taking place here tonight."
"That doesn't surprise me, it was last minute intel that came across my desk, and the Master Invest said he had taken care of all the paper work. Or you know I wouldn't have been put in this position. Not exactly comfortable. But to make it easy for you. I don't think you would mind if I just handle this arrest and you can mark this one as a NFA."
He noticed how her phrasing and tone changed in that last question. Well it wasn't exactly a question. She was compelling them and he knew it. He grumbled getting aggravated with the disgusting vampires tricks. "I'm going to need a pair of hand cuffs, your jacket and the keys to your police cruiser, don't worry you will have them all back by morning." Although Zach still couldn't see her face, he could hear a smile in her voice. He felt one of hands disappear from his wrists and replaced by a pair of hand cuffs. She grabbed under his arm and pulled him up to his feet and walked him out. He caught a glance at her, she now had an oversized long sleeve button up police shirt over her. For some reason he couldn't understand that still didn't stop the intense feelings he seemed to be getting towards her. She pulled opened on of the police cruisers back door, and put her hand on his head as he stepped into the back of the car. The vampire got in the front and started the car, pulling out and heading uptown. Zach finally was able to think clearly and broke clean out of the handcuffs. The grid between the front and back seats prevented him from strangling the b***h.
"Listen 'vampire hunter' I don't kill humans unless they are turning. It goes against my pledge. But get in my way again and I will make your life a living hell." She threatened through gritted teeth.
"So you mean I just have to kill you." He snarled at her reaching for his other gun that was strapped to his back. The car swerved making him slide across the seat and hit the window. "I Wouldn't if I was you. You have a very nice watch." She said holding up his watch next to her head. She must have gotten it off him when she put the handcuffs on him.
"Give that back you w***e!"
" Looks like a family heirloom." She said, that smile in her voice again. She flipped the review mirror so she could look at him. He starred back into those deep dark eyes of hers.
"I mean it, bother me again and there will be consequences."
The car braked coming to a sudden stop. They were right outside his safe house.
"How the f**k did you!?"
"You know not a lot of places smell like nothing." She sniggered to herself. "But it was a lucky guess I suppose." She hoped out of the car and just like that she was gone. His watch still sitting in the front seat.
Zach sat in the lounge chair for a good while, getting more and more heated with every second that went past. Who the f**k does she think she is he thought. He got up from the chair and walked into the study. A brown leather chair under a vintage hard wood desk in the back of the room, with floor to ceiling books on every square inch of wall that was available. Make MY life a living hell! ME! O dear whisper. You have no idea what is coming for you.
