Chapter Three

1041 Words
A week later, Sarah was at her parents’ dance studio. It was nine at night, but she had some homework to catch up on. When a knock on the doors came, she raised an eyebrow and headed over to the front of the building. She wasn’t sure who it could be since they closed the studio down for the night at seven and each of the employees had their own keys. Once she was over at the doors, she smiled soft once she saw Andrew. Somehow he had found the studio and now had a grocery bag in his hand. She unlocked the door and opened it up, running a hand through her hair. “How did you find me?” She asked, knowing she never told him the name of the studio, where it was in the city, or when she would even be there. “You act like I don’t have connections. Plus, you told me your last name. It wasn’t hard to figure out you work at The Williams Family Dance Studio.” He smirked when he saw the blush on her cheeks, and he held up the bag. “I brought dinner if you’re hungry.” He said and she moved over, inviting him into the studio. As she led him down to her office, she turned to look over at him. “How did you know I would be here. It’s Friday night, maybe I was out dancing with another guy or at home.” She said and opened up her office door, pulling a chair over to her desk and clearing off some space. She noticed the jealous look in his eyes when she mentioned her being with another guy, but she didn’t mention anything because it disappeared as soon as it appeared. “I wasn’t sure but figured I could at least try. Plus, you said you were a student. Over the years, I’ve figured out they don’t go out much even on the weekends.” She raised an eyebrow as she sat down. “Over the years? You’re like my age.” She did tend to go out on the weekends, but it was usually Saturday nights that she let loose. Normally, it wasn't at a club, but she would go out and get away from her studies. That was enough for her. She decided not to be defensive about his comment though and she just let it go. “I’m a lot older than I may look.” He responded and she looked very confused but just shrugged it off and put her books away to clear off more space for the food. “Anyway, I’m a little surprised you aren’t at one of your clubs. You seem like the type of guy who would prefer to be there to make sure everything is alright.” He just shrugged and pulled out a couple burgers with all the toppings on the side along with a bag full of French fries and onion rings. He might be a vampire and feed on blood, but he had grown to actually enjoy the taste of human food. He had also become a decent chef over the years, but that was a hidden talent that only a select few knew about. “Normally I am, but I’m not there every night. Plus, I missed my dance partner.” He said with a wink and motioned for her to dig in. Picking up a plate, she grabbed one of the burgers and took off the top bun to put on ketchup, mustard, cheese, and a couple pickles. She added a handful of French fries onto her plate as well as a few onion rings. “Well, no matter the reason. Thank you for dinner.” She said before eating one of the fries. “You’re welcome. You did technically give me more than one dance, so I figured I would take you on a date, but you left before I could ask.” He said, not normally asking a girl out. Especially one he had just met, but she was different. Plus, he hadn’t been with anyone in over 100 years and she was certainly his normal type. She blushed bright as she was about to take a bite of the burger when he mentioned asking her out. “You were going to ask me on a date?” She asked and he just nodded before taking a bite of an onion ring. “I would have said yes. Maybe we could count this as our first date?” “Sounds good, Sarah.” He responded and continued to eat his burger.  During the date, they got to know each other a little more. Where each of them grew up, their favorites, their dislikes, their families (well, Sarah’s family), and they spoke about Sarah’s schooling. Both her college classes and the dance classes she taught. It was almost midnight before one of them even checked their phones. While no one had actually called Andrew, Sarah’s roommate did call her a few times but the last one was over an hour ago which meant Katie had fallen asleep. They packed everything up and Sarah put her backpack straps on her shoulders before she walked him out of the studio. “I had a really nice time, Andrew. Thank you for dinner and from saving me from a boring night of studying.” She said and leaned up to kiss his cheek, but he turned his head so they kissed on the lips. “I had a nice time too. Maybe next time, we can go to a restaurant instead?” He asked and she just nodded before he walked off to his penthouse at the top of a hotel a few blocks away. She got into her car and drove home, going into her apartment and falling asleep almost instantly. But not before plugging Andrew’s number into her contacts so that they could plan their next date.
