Chapter : Thirteen

Unknown POV

"If you want to keep that precious little mate of yours alive, you will do as I say now, dear". She tried to look around at her surroundings through her bruised eye. If she didn't piss me off so much, I wouldn't have had to put her in her place. This ungrateful b***h just knows how to always piss me off.

"Now listen, I have a pack of rogues, just waiting on the outside of the border. Your job is to make sure you can keep him distracted long enough for them to hide in the territory. Do you understand?" I looked at the powerless girl in front of me. I knew the second my little spy told me the alpha was her mate, that she would do anything I asked to keep him safe. These rogues, even if not many for now, will finally bring down that family that destroyed everything I ever had. My mate.

I will make sure that this stupid b***h helps me to make them pay. They all deserve to die, to have their pack taken away from them just how they took my mate away from me. I will stop at nothing to make sure that it happens.

"Now, go away before I give you a worse beating, you stupid bitch." One day she will learn that I will always be the stronger one here. I will one day become the alpha and she will become my slave.

Hugo's POV

"Is anybody going to tell me what the hell happened to the rogues!?" I shouted, causing everyone to jump.

"Well, they tried to trespass yesterday. Luckily, we managed to get to them first before they did anything, but one of them had dropped this when we were fighting them". Elijah came closer, handing me a piece of paper that had previously been scrunched up.

"You will pay for what you did to my mate. We are coming". I could feel the anger boiling deep within, just waiting to explode. I wanted to lash out and hurt everyone in my line of vision, yet I didn't know where these feelings were coming from.

"I want all the warriors to keep all eyes out. Spread across the border. Nobody gets in or out of this territory, anyone who attempts to come onto this land. They are to be imprisoned or killed. Do you understand me?" I will not have this pack fail, just because I am a human. I will not go down without a fight.

"Yes, alpha" they all said in unison. I couldn't help but notice that Iris was the only one who seemed extra quiet and in her own world. I gently tugged her hand towards my lips and gave her a small kiss, trying to calm myself down more than comfort her right now, but it was helping.

"I want to know who wrote this letter, who is sending these rogues. From how it looks to me, there are going to be more rogues with a bigger fight ahead." I said aloud for everyone to hear, "I want the younger warriors who can fight to up their training." "Yes alpha" Elijah said as he left the room. I will make sure this pack is safe.

"Can you all leave now, I just want my mate" I told them all, watching as they all nodded their heads and left the white room with myself and mate alone.

"Come here, baby" I told her, gently pulling her up to lay on me whilst wrapping my arms tightly around her. As I gave her a soft kiss on her head, I could hear slight sniffles.

"Are you crying?" I moved my body slightly to get a better look at her face. She looked up at me with small tears before wiping them away.

"I'm sorry, I was just so worried about you. When you passed out, I instantly mind-linked your parents, and they helped bring you here." She sniffled again, letting me wipe her tears away. "I didn't know what happened, and I was just scared. I'm glad you're awake." She mumbled.

"Oh baby, I'm not going away. I'm sorry to have scared you, but I am fine. I'm sure I was just overtired from all the work" I said, kissing her head again.

She wiped away her tears this time, and put a smile on her face instead, which made me feel a whole new wave of emotions. I was lucky.

"Yeah, I hope that is all it was. Don't ever scare me like that again, baby" She looked up into my eyes with her big ones and I couldn't resist the urge to lean down and kiss her gently, taking her hair into my fingers. Her body leaned further down onto me, showing she enjoyed the way I made her feel.

Before I could control my body, I flipped us around, so her tiny frame was beneath mine, which only had me earn the most amazing sound to my ears I could ever hear: her laugh. Before she could do anything else, I connected my lips with hers in a fiery kiss, one where I could feel all my emotions pouring into her as she kissed back.

"I love you, Iris" I mumbled against her as I pulled back slightly, making sure to kiss her just as hard as the last to show her how much she meant to me and show that I would do anything to protect her.

It didn't take us long before we both had no clothes on and were making love to each other. From deep within, I felt like I needed to prove to her how much she meant to me. Just like how I had to prove to my pack that I was worthy of being their alpha. Once we were finished, we got cleaned up and soon later a doctor came to check back up on me saying I was able to go home. Which I was very happy about. I couldn't wait. I had alot of work to do.
