So, please read on your risk. Thanks) Anna For a 20-year-old, my life is filled with bitterness, hatred, and pain. I, for one, wanted to study, be something, and finally, get married to my boyfriend. But, my life changed when a tragedy hit my family and I was sold in exchange for my father’s freedom. When a normal teenager would dream about college, clothes, career, I dream about getting my freedom. Even though my husband ‘Samuel’ married me, he has made me the maid of the house. My day starts by waking up early, doing all the household chores, and then experiencing his beating. It’s been my life for the past year and it’s horrible. As usual, even today I woke up at six in the morning and then cleaned the house did laundry, and made breakfast for both of us. Samuel came at 8:30 sharp and started eating his breakfast, as I waited for him to finish. I cannot sit alongside him, as he beats me with his belt. Although I am strong and have fought him many times, his strength always surpasses mine and I end up with a bruised face. I can call the police and let them know about this torture, but then my father’s face appears in front of my eyes and I stop. I can’t imagine how from a spunky Anna, I transformed into this person. A person I loathe the most. As I was waiting, Samuel smacks his lips together and compliments my cooking, “You are getting better. I’ll send you a list of the recipes that you’ll cook this week but before that, I need to inform you to accompany me to a party.” I look at him with wide eyes. He had never taken me to a party before. He married me by forcing my father but afterward, his wrath began as if he was taking revenge for something I never did. ------------ Recap After the wedding ceremony, I was excited to start a new life, to enter a house, I could call mine. The beautiful bungalow was decorated like a new bride with all the colorful lights that were shining like a star. I was taken aback after seeing the interior too. The large chandeliers, leather sofa, high-end paintings, and silk curtains everything looked lavish. Full of excitement, I take my first step inside the house and Samuel shuts the door behind him. “Your house is beautiful, Samuel.” I turn beaming, but the next moment the smile vanishes from my face. He slaps me and I fall on the floor. My cheek stings badly after his slap and I scowl. “Lower your eyes you bit*h. I had to play the goody boy part for so many days that I had started forgetting who I am.” Samuel spats I cannot believe what is just happening. That was not all; he grabs my hair in his fist and slaps me again. “Why are you doing this?” I plead. He sneers at my question, “Because I wanted to f*ck you bit*h the day I laid eyes on you. But, you constantly refused me and then I made this plan to have you in my bed.” His spiteful words make my eyes wet. When I raise my eyes to find a way to escape this torture, his grip on my shoulders tighten and he lifts me up and throws me on a sofa. I try to dodge him, but he pins my arms on the top of my head and mouths, “You are mine.” I feel disgusted to be touched by him. With all my power I try to push him, but his weight does not let me move. This moment makes me realize how helpless I am. I scream, “Help…..Help….Someone Help” but my sound does not reach anyone’s ears. He slaps me again and rapes me. ---------------- Present The invitation to accompany him to a party brings a small smile to my face, as I have been confined to this big house from the time I got married, this seems like an opportunity to live a little. But, I am scared. He is being kind to me and I don’t know the reason but my instincts tell me to not trust him. I gulp hard and look at him warily. He does not look my way but hands me a custom made box from a designer shop. Feeling the weight of the golden box, I speak shockingly, “What is it?” He scowls, “Are you blind? It’s a dress for the party. Be ready before 7.” His answer shocks me but I still manage to nod. After he leaves, I go to my room and place the box on my bed. I keep on staring at it as if it was something precious, my first gift from my husband. But, then the last year flashes before my eyes, and I feel like tearing the dress apart. I sit on the bed covering my face with my hands and start crying. How did my life change so much? I curse the time when Samuel first saw me and proposed to marry. He was certain I would be thrilled to marry him. But, my opinion differed. Despite him being the proud owner of Jones Corporation, I hated him and instantly refused his proposal. Even my parents agreed with my decision, however, later my father committed a crime and Samuel got to know about it. He started blackmailing my family and that’s how I ended up here. I cannot complain or run away because my father will get in trouble. I love my family and am ready to do anything to save them. ------------ After finishing all the work, when I check the time, it is already 5. I fill the bathtub with lukewarm water and add all the essential oils and my favorite lavender fragrance, as I sit into the tub, my eyes close and I see the handsome face of someone I loved. His eyes were staring back with so much rage that I gasp and open my eyes, “I am sorry.” These words spill out of my mouth every time I remember him.
