Lily's POV
The Decision To Believe
Everything inside me freezes.
The woman takes a shaky breath, then she says the one thing I never expected or wished to hear.
“They believed Alpha Kegan might have had something to do with her death.” She looks away from me, at the same time, standing and walking away like she hates the fact that she had to say that.
“That can't be true. I mean, you just said it yourself that my dad loved my mum. I mean, why would he get married to someone and then have something to do with her death?”
She turns to me. Her eyes are fully red and somehow she has a deeply hurt look seated on her face.
