Pain. Pain was the first thing I felt. Pain from everywhere. I couldn't open my eyes. I was only barely conscious and the pain made me wish I could be unconscious again. It felt like every bone in my body was broken, every muscle in my body felt torn, and my skin felt like it was burning.
I would have screamed in agony but I couldn't seem to do that. I tried to open my eyes but it was as if my body and brain weren't connected. Then I started to hear. I heard the beep, beep of the heart monitor.
Where was I? I couldn't think straight. Pain again. Why did it hurt so much? My mind was so foggy and my body was seemingly useless. Then I heard a voice. It was deep and touched something deep inside me. I couldn't hear what they were saying but I could tell they were getting closer.
