Chapter 16: Broken trust

“Okay, so let me clarify it, you two have been hanging for-“
“Amber, I didn’t say we were hanging out! It was just an accident! His car was there when-“
“But even after that day, you two have gone to a race track field! So..that is still hanging out!” Amber teased as she raised her eyebrow at me as if telling me that she is right.
Callahan chuckled which made me look at him. He is having fun seeing me being interrogated by my friends.
I glared at him and he bit his lower lip to stop himself from smiling.
“Why are we even talking about this?! It is not a bid deal-“
“It is!” Amber and Megan said in unison.
Then they looked at each other and giggled.
I sighed. They won't stop until they get what they want!
This is Callahan's fault! Why did he even have to join me and my friends?! He is doing this on purpose!
“Girls, don’t pressure the Queen.” Callahan playfully said. “We two are just news friends, so please stop doing that, or she might UNFRIEND me!” Callahan joked and the two girls giggled while I on the other hand just rolled my eyes at them.
“Is he your new boy toy until Roux, notices you?” Amber said without thinking.
My eyes widen, then I turned to look at Callahan. He stiffened, then his lips parted, it was like he was caught off guard, then suddenly his eyebrows furrowed.
Seems like he doesn’t like what Amber has said.
Well, who would appreciate being called a boy toy?!
Amber is a certified b*tch!
“Amber!” I scolded her.
“That’s so mean Amber,” Megan said in a teasing voice.
Amber's lips parted. She looked at Callahan apologetically, but then she giggled after.
“But we are mean..always mean, b*tches!” Amber giggled and so does Megan.
But I just shook my head.
“Who is Roux?” Callahan asked that made us look at him.
His face is full of curiosity as his forehead wrinkled.
Megan laughed and smirked at me.
“Roux Dimitri is Saoirse’s love interest!” she said while looking at Callahan.
Callahan's lips parted.
He looks a bit shocked.
Why would he? I told him last time that I like someone else!
“Disappointed, are you?” Amber teased Callahan.
And Callahan just gave me a what the f*ck look.
I sighed again.
Why is he looking at me like a cheated on him?!
“Enough of that," I said sternly.
"Callahan, let me introduce you to my b*tches friends.”I started. “This is Megan, while the blonde beside her is Amber.”
Then I turned to my friends. I know that this introduction is kind of late since we have been talking for a few minutes already, but I have to do this so they will stop teasing me and Callahan.
“And girls, this is Callahan Lennox, he is a transfer student and he is my minion,” I said and smirked at Callahan who seems to finally have recovered from Amber and Megan’s teasing.
“Callahan Lennox... I am the Queen’s knight!” Callahan said with a beautiful smile, then he offered his hand, and the girls accepted it while giggling like a high schooler!
“Callahan, do you have a girlfriend already?”Amber asked out of nowhere! I almost spit the coffee that I am drinking..
“I don’t think he has a girlfriend, I mean..look at him..he looks like a f*ck boy! No offense Callahan."
"None taken."
"So no..I don't think he is a guy who has a girlfriend, f*ck buddies or girlfriendsss maybe.” Megan said as she raised her eyebrow at Callahan and smirked at him.
Callahan laughed which made the girls froze. It is as if it is the first time they saw a hot guy!
Goodness! They almost drool at him!
“Girls!” I called them to wake them up from their dream!
Amber cleared her throat, while Megan gave an awkward smile!
And Callahan? He is grinning.. looks as if he is enjoying their attention!
“Sooo” I started, to break the awkward silence. “Don’t you have any class? You should go ahead or you will be late.” I said trying to dismiss him.
Callahan chuckled then he shook his head and leaned towards me.
“Actually, my classes are done for the day, so I am free already..I have so much time to hear about your love story..” He smirked at me then he turned to Megan and Amber.
“So girls..tell me more about the Prince Charming of the Queen?” he asked with a playful tone but then I saw how his eyes narrowed.
And my traitor friends! They really told Callahan everything about Roux! How can they do that? They just met Callahan! Why are they acting like long-time friends and even close friends!
Or maybe, it is because of Callahan’s Charm?!
My friends are not also friendly, they also don’t care about the people..and they have few friends aside from me..but then..just a few! Because, they don’t like almost everyone, like me!
And now here I am as listening to my friend’s version of my fascination with Roux!
“Just hearing about your twin sister is giving me a goosebump! How can you have a saintly sister?!” Callahan said, looking scared.
“On my sister’s behalf, I take that as I compliment.” I snorted.
“Hey..don’t get me wrong..Don’t be offended by what I have said..it’s just that.. I am allergic to good girls” Callahan raised his hands, he looks sincere with what he has said.
“Ohhh! That must be it! The reason why you are being so friendly with Saoirse, because you like the opposite of a good girl, you wanted a b*tch!” Megan said with her eyes wide, now she is grinning from ear to ear.
“Why do you hate, good girls?” Amber asked as she raised an eyebrow at Callahan. She is obviously trying to suppress her smile.
Callahan shrugged then he sipped on his iced coffee.
“Hate is a strong word..just dislike.. I dislike good girls, I feel like they are no fun, boring and I don’t know..hypocrites? No offense to your sister, my queen!” he winked at me but I rolled my eyes at him.
“Tell me, did a good girl break your heart?” I guessed. While looking at him intently.
His lips parted. Then he looked away.
Bullseye!
I thought he is going to dismiss my question, but to my amazement, he answered it.
“More of my trust.” He said in a serious voice, as I saw pain passed by in his eyes.
The atmosphere suddenly becomes awkward. I was about to speak to change the topic but he spoke first.
“But that was.. a long time ago. But yeah..you can say, that it has become the reason why I hate good girls.” He smirked.
And just like that, he is back to his normal cocky self.
