Tough Crowd

Omega- Lone Wolf(Wolves) Sweat glistened from my forehead as I folded my last item of clothing in the laundry room. There was a name for each individual who lived in the home and that’s where you were supposed to put their clothes. There was Alpha Troy, Alpha Marta, Don, Kale, and Ginger. Kale was Lyndon’s older brother. He’s one of the packs more elite trainers. For the most part,  people outside of pack training don’t see much of him.  My brother Josh tells me that anytime he comes over The Young’s home, Kale is either coming in or going out. He never hangs around or entertains people’s existence unless he must. Ginger was Lyndon’s younger sister who was currently at her sitter’s house until 7. She’s adorable and the only one out of the siblings with ginger hair.  I sorted the clothing to the best of my ability and checked the time, in hopes that it was time for me to go. I cleaned the den while the laundry ran, so there was only one thing left to do on my urgency list. I almost screamed at the sight of 30 minutes to spare. Ugh I dragged my feet to my next destination on the second floor with a broom, bathroom cleaners, and garbage bag in hand. Upon entrance, my scenery immediately went from a bright lit hallway, to a dim lit bedroom. The second loudest thing in the room was the large window right across from the entrance door. One could see the large trees, moon, and, if using wolf senses, could hear every crack of a stick coming from the outside. The room itself was an off white color and the walls reflected the shadows of the outside. The room seemed almost beautiful, until I saw the mess that awaited me. When I crouched down to see under his bed, I was horrified. There were candy wrappers, shoes, used socks, and it reeked of boy must. My face twisted in disgust as I grabbed my broom and got to work. “What would this room be without your maids?”, I spoke aloud as I continued to sweep out all the nastiness that resided under his bed.  I grabbed the trash bag and went on to making his bed when my hand made contact with a wet latex material.  AGH! My nose scrunched as I used his pillowcase to aid me in picking up, what was later revealed to me as... ...a f*****g condom. I audibly gasped in disbelief. “No f*****g way..”, Thank God for my gag reflexes because my body would have added another mess to my list.  After disposing of his excrements, I changed his sheets, made his bed and walked over to the bathroom.  Thankfully for me, his bathroom was not as bad as his bedroom. All I had to do was scrub the sink, toilet bowl, tub, take out the trash, and be on my merry way. As I finished up, the sound of the door hinges brought me to a halt.  As the steps got closer, I quickly closed the toilet bowl and gathered my things. No way was I going to give this asshole the satisfaction of seeing me on my knees and cleaning up after him. Don now stood at the bathroom entrance with a blank expression plastered on his face. He first examined the bathroom, as if to check the cleanliness, before finally looking at me.  His clothes were drenched with sweat as if he’d just come out of training. The peppermint scent mixed with oak were now masked with a dirt odor. My wolf hummed at his presence which confused me, being that she was just rejected.  No words were spoken as his deep brown eyes bore into mine.  “Well?”, I was the first to speak. His brows furrowed in confusion. As if there wasn’t a big elephant sitting right in the middle of the room. “Don’t you have anything to say?”, My face, too, was blank as I didn’t want him to be able to read any emotions.  Truth be told, what I really wanted to know was why I was rejected. I knew I wasn’t the prettiest girl in the world, but I would hope to think that I wasn’t so ugly that my mate wouldn’t want me at first sight. “Look”, Lyndon sighed walking over to his bathroom wall to retrieve his towel, “I didn’t know things were going to down like this. If I knew you were going to go batshit on my car, I probably wouldn’t have-” “-rejected me?”, I interrupted. Lyndon‘s faze shifted from me to the floor, as if thinking hard about what to say next.    The room almost fell silent again until I spoke, “-so why-?”  My hands fell tired from holding my supplies so I rested on the edge of the toilet with my eyes never leaving him, “Why did you reject me?” Lyndon shrugged followed by a sigh, “Honestly speaking...” He trailed, “I didn’t think my mate would come this early. I’m in my prime” My eyes narrowed, “Right now, I’m about to be Alpha. Do you know how much potential p*ssy and opportunity I’d be giving up--all because some girl came up to me and uttered the word mate?” A sharp pang hit my heart along with my wolf’s. Not only did it upset me that he referred to me as some girl, but also his logic for embarrassing me in front of the junior class was due to some potential p*ssy? “I don’t know about you baby, but this code that says that I have to spend the rest of my existence with a mate I met at 18 sounds f*****g crazy to me”, He ended while taking off his shirt in further preparation for his shower. I laughed in disbelief. Of course this was my mate experience. My life wouldn’t have it any other way. I stopped Lyndon in his tracks as he went for his pants. My brain didn’t even grasp the fact that he was getting naked in front of me because of how much focus it took to not get upset. “You do realize that if Luna and Alpha find out that I’ve been rejected, my entire family could risks becoming Omega right?...”, I began with a scoff, “...your parents may forgive you because you’re basically already Alpha. But me- when it comes down to it, you kind of f****d me over”  Lyndon said nothing as if in deep thought, “Not only that, but you f****d our wolves over. You gave up the chance of reaching you’re peak Alpha potential...for p*ssy?”  I was convinced that every man on this earth was born without a brain.  I couldn’t believe that he rejected me to keep living in his glory as a bachelor. The lack of remorse on Lyndon’s face made the urge to slap him increase, “Look, that ‘reaching my peak alpha potential’ is all bullshit. It’s all made up so men can feel better about being with a woman they don’t want their whole life” My stomach fell at his words, “And anyway, your family won’t go Omega, trust me. When I’m Alpha, consider it payback.” The tears began to well in my eyes without me even getting the chance to stop them. I saw a flash of concern in his eyes that quickly went away as he made his way over to me. Lyndon handed me my broom and other cleaning supplies, “Look, I’m sorry that you’ve been fed a fairytale your whole life...but look on the bright side” If I had a dollar for every time I heard that today. He then moved a stray hair from my face and swiped my falling tear with his padded thumb, gestures that unfortunately caused my wolf to hum, “When you experience love, real love. You’ll look back and thank me for rejecting you” I scoffed and slapped his hand away as I rushed out of his bathroom then bedroom.  I then ran into the first bedroom after Lyndon’s and closed the door. My back slid against it as enraging thoughts filled my head. Congrats Ava, you just let him reject you for the second time. Why doesn’t he want me? Am I not good enough?  Bet if I looked like Violet, his thoughts would be different. No Ava, you don’t deserve this.  He’s an asshole. But he could’ve been my asshole. Ugh. Ava stop- The door swung open causing me to fall flat on my back between the legs of a giant.  I immediately wiped my tears, hopped up to come chest to face with a new individual. My eyes moved up to lock with a pair of deep brown ones that were attached to a different individual. He looked similar to Lyndon, but not completely. He had black hair that lye swiftly onto his head and was well-built, which I felt because my chest was brushing against his own.  I took two steps back and further examined him. He did not look happy, and who could blame him being that he just found a blubbering young girl crying in his bedroom.  “Are you the new maid?”, His voice was aged. I don’t know what was in the Adams applesauce, but I lived for when the Young men opened their mouths to speak. His brow raised, “Is there a reason why you’re crying on the floor of my bedroom and not cleaning it?” And there it was. He wouldn’t be a Young man if some rude s**t didn’t leave his lips. I smiled awkwardly before sniffling. “Yes, I’m Avalon, you’re new maid and I was just-“, I stuttered for a moment before going towards his pillows and fluffing them, “Making sure your pillows were fluffed” There was a pause as he continued to stare at me, “And wow, they’re fluffed really good so I’ll just be on my way” I exited Kale’s room as he entered. He then slammed the door shut causing the hall to echo.  Ugh. Tough Crowd.
