The next day, I began my shift at 8am. Technically 8:30am, because I overslept, forgetting that sleeping in on Saturdays was no longer a luxury I held. This morning, my parents rushed me into my brothers vehicle with only my teeth brushed.
They told me that I was more than welcome to shower at The Young’s home on day’s when I overslept. One would think that someone wouldn’t want their daughter showering in a home consisting of majority men, but my parents feared authority above all.
So there I was, accompanied by Lois, preparing breakfast for the Young’s with mint fresh breath and my silk pjs. Love my life.
“After breakfast, you can freshen up in one of the guest rooms on the second floor”, Luna Marta softly spoke to me as I handed her, her plate of breakfast.
Alpha Troy sat at the table with his head in a newspaper as Ginger sat in front of a tablet. Lyndon was into something on his phone and Kale seemed to be deep reading a book at the table.
The family sat disengaged with one another, only speaking when Luna Marta summoned one of them.
Her efforts to spark a conversation with her family fell flat as everyone of them continued to go on about their business.
“Ms. Maid?”, Ginger’s small voice called gesturing her hand for me to come forward.
Ginger looked as if she could be Lyndon’s daughter before her own dad. Ginger looked like the female version of Lyndon, except for again, the ginger colored hair.
I smiled before looking to her mother to make sure it was okay, “What’s your name?”
I answered from my station on the wall, with no one paying our conversation any mind, “My name is Avalon, but you can call me Ava or Lonnie”
Ginger smiled at me and touched my face, “You are so beautiful, you look like Ana from frozen”
I awkwardly laughed. This little girl must’ve said this to every brunette with green eyes she’d encounter because I looked nothing like Ana, “Thank you Ginger, you’re beautiful too”
Ginger smiled looking into my eyes before grabbing her cup, “Ms. Ava, may you please give me some more apple juice”
The first time I received a please from someone in this family and it was coming from a 6 year old. Ginger don’t ever change.
Breakfast ended shortly behind Ginger receiving her apple juice which meant that I could finally take my shower.
I grabbed my maid attire and rushed to the guest shower where I was greeted with a lavender scent.
A warm feeling came over me as I inhaled the air. The scent calmed my wolf and I watched in the mirror as my eyes changed color, Wolf’s Gain?
Wolf’s Gain was the opposite of wolfsbane. It was an herb grown by witches that brings one’s wolf to a high state of being. Whereas wolfsbane practically kills you, Wolfs Gain brings you to an orgasmic state.
And it’s perfect when one’s taking a shower. The catch about Wolf’s Gain is that it’s extremely expensive and the only people who can attain it without a price are Alphas and Elders.
My eyes closed as I began to undress in preparation for my shower. My wolf and I basked in the scent.
This was just what I needed in this constant state of stress.
I moaned as the hot water touched rained on my skin.
After what had to be one of the most fantastic showers of my existence, I exited the room to see stress sitting on the guest bed.
I sighed aloud and moisturized with the complimentary lotion Luna provided for her guests. I then held up the maid outfit in disgust.
This must be what prison feels like.
I let out an aggravated huff. I then lay the maid outfit back on the bed to slip into my bra and underwear.
As I was getting on my bra, I heard a loud oh!, before someone quickly shut the door.
My face reddened.
Is there some strand of embarrass Avalon Winters in Young DNA that I don’t f*****g know about?
I rushed on my clothing, without closing the back, to see Kale looking back at me, “Do you not know how to close the f*****g door?”, his hand protected his eyes and I narrowed mine in annoyance.
How dare he? As if he didn’t walk in on me, “Excuse me? But I think the word you’re looking for is sorry”
Kale peaked through his hand and put it back to his side when he realized that I was fully clothed.
He then raised a brow as if I spoke in a foreign language, “Does no one in this house hold human f*****g decency? Is caring about how people feel really that hard?”
At this point, this family needs an etiquette class with a dash of entitlement training.
Kale brows frowned, but before he went off, he paused and examined me for a second.
My eye twitched in confusion.
He then waved his finger in my face and began to laugh. Hysterically.
My face scrunched up in confusion, “What?”
At one point, he slapped his knee and, finally, on the brink of tears, he managed to choke out, “So you’re the little fucker who messed up Don’s car?”
I had no idea how a two minute conversation could possibly help him to that conclusion and all I could say was nothing as he continued to laugh.
He waved his index finger in my face and smiled with all 32, “You’re the little psycho who f****d up Don’s car? Right?”
My face twisted. “-“
Before I could get a word out, a growl echoed through the hallway.
I turned around to see Lyndon looking back at the two of us with dark eyes.
I felt my bare back and consciously slapped myself on the forehead in understanding at what this might’ve looked like.
Wait- but why does he care?
Lyndon walked up to us, black claws boring through his fingers as Kale and I looked on in confusion.
I’m sure Kale was confused because he didn’t know that I was his brothers mate, whereas I stood confused because I was his brothers’ rejected mate.
“Don?”, Kale called, “Calm down bro”
I assumed that seeing Lyndon act like this wasn’t the norm in the tone of voice his brother used.
Lyndon slowly approached the two of us, but I wasn’t sure that it was Lyndon who was completely in control which may explain why he was so upset.
“Lyndon?”, I called, but Lyndon didn’t respond as he pushed me out of the way to get to Kale. He then grabbed Kale by his clothing and threw him down the grand staircase.
Oh f**k. Oh f**k. Oh f**k. Oh f**k.
“Lyndon, what the f**k?!”, Kale got up from the living room floor as Lyndon once again snatched him and dragged him outside.
I rushed down the steps and out the door to follow the two.
“Lyndon!”, I yelled from the entrance staircase of the home, “Lyndon, let him go!”
Again, Lyndon didn’t respond. At least, not coherently. It was his wolf growling as he and his brother tussled on the forest floor.
Not knowing what to do, I attempted to intervene. This was cut short by Lyndon shoving me on the ground.
I then tried again, but he let out a growl that rippled through my chest and almost commanded me to stand down.
My wolf whimpered and when I attempted to go for a third time, she took over to halt me in my tracks.
Being that there was not much I could do, I continued to call out for Lyndon to stop, but he wouldn’t.
“Alpha, I stand down!”, Kale growled feeling the pain of Lyndon’s claws slicing into his ribs, “I stand down!”
It was then when Lyndon’s claws retracted from Kale’s side as the black in his eyes retreated just as fast.
Lyndon blinked a few times and looked around in confusion, as if he didn’t recognize his own surroundings. He then looked down in horror at his older brother as he swiftly got off of him.
Kale looked to his brother in terror then to me, then back to Lyndon.
He quickly got up then attempted to fix his torn clothing, “So, I’m guessing that this is your mate?”
