Chapter 36: Oath!*

“I am sorry, there is no change in her condition. I offered her a sedative, but she has refused. I am concerned about her mental health and the lack of food intake.” The Doctor said in a meeting. The hurricane was finally beginning to quiet down and repairs were already been carried out. They should be able to make it to the nearest port for the more significant repairs that were needed. Bee had been beside herself at the news. It seemed the whole ship had heard the Siren cries of anguish, which had worried them. But, what had worried them more was how Bee had completely shut down after seeing Sam’s body. It transpired that Sam had been crushed by a cargo container that had come loose.  “I want him taken back to his Gang and buried with full honours, understand?” Bee had ordered after she gently kissed his lips one last time. It was only then Bee noticed the locket around Sam’s neck. She removed it and opened it up. There was a picture of a young girl, who looked exactly like Sam. “Willow!” Bee whispered, as she shut the locket and put it around her neck.  Bee had then gone to the deck of the ship and took out her knife. She cut her palm and clenched her fist, allowing the drops of blood to fall into the ocean below. “I swear Sam…I swear that I will find your sister Willow and free her. I will make the people responsible wish they had never been born!” Bee swore. From that moment on, Bee had not spoken or eaten. She just stayed in her cabin, isolating herself from everyone and working on finding out where Willow was. “We will be there as soon as we can be, your job is to keep her on the ship! Sedate her if you have to!” Frank said from a laptop screen. It was obvious that Frank was on some sort of military transporter plane and had Theo next to him. “Sedate the Siren by force?” Hitchens said frowning. He wasn't sure he liked that idea, especially after Bee had saved most of their lives. “Yes, by bloody force! Bee is the Siren and the last thing that we all need is for her to go on a rampage and get herself killed!” Theo snapped. “Bee needs to come home..she has been through enough. So, just keep her on the bloody ship and we will meet you at Nicaro!” Frank said as he hung up. Frank sighed and Theo put a comforting hand on his shoulder. “Bee will be alright, she is a strong one!” Theo said. “I hope so...” Frank said unsure. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Frank and Theo, Bee was face-timing Jack. “Bee, are you OK? You look...” Jack said concerned. Bee looked pale, stone-faced and had obviously lost weight. But the thing that worried him the most was the look in Bee’s eyes, they were as hard as stone. “I didn't ring up for pleasantries, I want a progress report Captain!” Bee said in an emotionless voice. “Captain? Bee, now I know something is wrong! Tell me..” Jack said in a panicked voice. “I am your Siren, not your friend! Now tell me do you have any information?” Bee said through gritted teeth. Jack looked shocked, Bee had never been so cold and never had said they weren't friends. Bee had never once pulled rank on him in 10 years. Something had gone wrong, seriously wrong. Could she know about the Twins and Priscilla's baby? “I am waiting!” Bee snapped. “I am sorry Siren, I could not bypass the Marsh Harriers’ security and all paths lead to them. I think even Zoe Nagato would struggle!” Jack said confessed. “I see!” Bee said deep in thought. She needed to find someone who could bypass it, but who? Jack was very skilled at computers and few people could match his skills. Unless…. “Bee, what happened to your arm?” Jack said noticing her pot. “I broke it in the storm, that is all!” Bee said dismissively. “It must hurt, why don't you come home? We can take care of you here!” Jack suggested gently. “But who is going to take care of the Willow’s of this world? No, I can’t go home. I must fulfil my blood oath to Sam!” Bee thought. “I promise, I will be home soon” Bee lied. “Probably sooner than you think!” Jack said with a sigh. “What do you mean?” Bee asked, her eyes narrowing. “Frank and Theo have got the Mad Dogs together and flying over now to retrieve you, Bee!” Jack said. “What?” Bee said trying to hide her panic. “They want you home Bee!” Jack said simply with a shrug. “Well, I am sure I will see them all soon!” Bee said trying to fake a smile. Jack was having none it! His eyes narrowed as he said “Bee, what are you planning? Come on Honey, talk to me! You know I will always be on your side, no matter what!” “It is nothing Jack, just a few changes in plans. Don’t worry, I will meet them when we dock! Thank you, Jack, you have been most helpful and we will meet up in London soon!” Bee said as she logged off. “s**t! s**t! s**t!” Bee muttered. Once she was with her uncle, there is no way he would let her go on a mission. She had to get off the ship before it reached the port, it would be impossible to escape the Mad Dogs if she waited until they docked. Bee packed her room up and waited till nightfall. Once she was confident the night shift had clocked on, Bee made her way to the lifeboats. Bee was preparing to launch the boat when she heard footsteps behind her. “Siren!” A familiar voice said. “Hitchens! I was just checking the lifeboats after the hurricane!” Bee said turning. She was trying to act as relaxed as possible. Hitchen looked at the large bag in the boat and said “Aye, I can see that Siren. I came to give you this and to thank you for all you have done!” Hitchens handed her a brown paper bag. Bee opens the bagged and inside was a blue scarf with a symbol of a yellow sun with waves. Bee tried to blink back the tears as she knew it was the scarf Sam wore on duty. “He was a good man and was besotted with you. I know he would have wanted you to have it!” Hitchens said softly. “Hitchens...” Bee said. She wanted to explain what she was doing but Hitchens shook his head. “You are doing what you need to do Siren, the less I know, the better. I will make sure Master Sam gets home and is treated with the honour he deserves!” Hitchens promised. “Thank you, Hitchens. Thank you for everything!” Bee said genuinely as she wrapped the scarf around her neck. “Safe journey and make sure you give those kidnapping Sea Scum hell! But be warned, the Mad Dogs will be on your tail!” Hitchens said. “Thank you. Duty and honour above all my friend!” Bee said and Hitchens bowed with his fist clenched and arm across his chest. He then walked off into the darkness. Bee took a deep breath as she lowered the boat into the choppy water. This did not concern Bee as she was not going far. Bee speeding off into the night, when suddenly an idea came to her. She smiled to herself and said “Oh, Sam. I think I may have just found a way to solve our problem!”
