Chan's POV
"Lucas?" After the audition and after fixing myself again, I saw Lucas standing in front of the auditorium so I called him.
"How was it?!" He approached me with a bright smile and asked me how was it. I showed him a piece of paper.
"I got in!" I exclaimed. Yes, I got in. I can finally dance again! I can finally join the University National Cultural Organization!
"Really?!" I nodded at him happily and he suddenly hugged me tight. "I know you can do it. Congratulations Chan!"
"Lucas, a lot of people are looking at us already."
"Oh--sorry." He immediately let go of his hug and scratches his nape. Is he being shy?
"Thank you Lucas."
"Huh? For what?"
"You've become a huge part of this success because you are the one who pushed me to go on auditions." I smiled sincerely at him. Seriously, he became part of this so I am really thankful for him. "Wait, is your classes done?"
"Yes. We must celebrate for your success!"
"How are we going to celebrate?"
He chuckled and offered his hand to me. What is he doing? "Let's have a drink?" What? Drink? We are going to drink? Come on, Chan. You heard it right!
"Wait, are you serious about that?" He nodded again while smiling. Well, I don't have any problem with that but this will be my first time to drink with a guy actually. Whatever, I think I need to loosen up a bit.
"Let's go." He giggled as he dragged me out of the University and we walked along the streets to find a stall where we can drink. Whoa. It has been a while since I had a drink.
Reaching a stall, Lucas ordered some drinks for us two while I was sitting at a vacant seat. Not more than a minute, he went back with the drinks and the food he ordered.
"Are you serious about this? This is a lot!" Imagine? He ordered food for ten people. How are we going to eat all of this and where did he get all of the money he spent for this?
"Listen Chan. Don't mind about the money I spent for this. I want you to loosen up and reward yourself. I know you will be very busy because you're already in." Aish. This guy. "Here." He offered me a glass of Soju and I don't have the right to reject it so I took it and drink the whole glass.
"Whoa. You are a great drinker Chan."
"Hey, why are you not drinking?" He was the one who brought me here but he's not drinking.
"I need to drink moderately. Because I have to watch over you when you got drunk." I rolled my eyes on him. Reasons. Well, this is a treat for myself so I need to eat and drink. Besides, it has been a while since I had fun like this.
"Come to think of it, Lucas. I have shared a lot about my life to you but I haven't heard anything about you."
Lucas' POV
"Come to think of it, Lucas. I have shared a lot about my life to you but I haven't heard anything about you." She said while holding a glass of Soju and drinks it.
"My life is not that interesting." I answered. It's not the right time to talk about it, Chan. Once you knew about my situation, your life might be at risk.
"Why? My life is not that interesting as well but I have talked about it to you. Come on Lucas. I will listen to you." She smiled at me with her eyes half-closed. I guess she is drunk already. Whoa. She just finished three glasses of Soju and she's drunk already. This woman is unbelievable as well.
"Look." She held my shoulder and leaned closer to me. Stop it, Chan. I can't be attached to you. "Look at me Lucas." She cupped my face all of a sudden. Geez. I think it was a wrong idea for me to bring her here.
"You became my neighbor and you came into my life out of nowhere. You were always there for me and I considered you as my special friend already but what do you really want from me? Why did you came closer to me? Why?" I can't answer your question Chan. I really can't.
"What on earth are you huh? Are you a psychic? Are you a stalker? Are you stalking me?" She put her index finger on my nose. What the-- She's really drunk. "You are really good-looking do you know that? But you and your brother do not look alike. Are you adopted?" She asked. She noticed it. She noticed that Eros and I don't look alike. I thought she won't notice it.
"I'm sorry Chan."
"You know what Lucas? I hope you can also trust me. I want to trust you. I want to trust you till the end--"
"Chan--" She was completely drunk and before her head hit the edge of the table, I catch it with my hand. "I will bring you home." I held her hand and carried her on my back.
Lucas, you have to remember, we angels have to fulfill our missions only. We don't have to intervene with the lives of humans. We angels can't fall in love. Our deity is the only one who can dictate humans' fate.
Why does it bother me so much?! Argh. Lucas, man up. You are not an ordinary man. You are an angel and you have to fulfill your mission so you can go back to paradise.
"Mom.. Dad.." Chan uttered softly. She was probably dreaming of her parents. "Lucas..."
"I am here Chan. We are going home."
Chan's POV
"Aww--" My head hurts so much that I woke up without hearing my alarm. Wait, 11am?! Did I sleep that long?!
"Aish! Right.. Last night.." Now I can remember, I got myself drunk and I was with Lucas. He was probably the one who brought me here--brought me here?!
"Mom!"
"Oh--Chandrea, you're already awake."
"Wait, what are you doing here?!" Yes, Lucas is here! He is really here! I am not dreaming! What is he doing here?! Did he just--
"Chandrea, can you calm down?" I fixed my hair and cleared my throat. I sat on one of the chair, quite far from Lucas because he was looking at me teasingly while holding a cup of coffee. Tch.
"Lucas helped me with the delivery because you were still asleep. You were drunk last night and he was the one who took you home. He already explained everything to me." Mom handed me a cup of coffee. "Here. I heard you passed the auditions." Right, the audition.
"Yes mom. I have to fix my schedule with my part-time job because of the practices at the ballet. "
"Okay. I think I don't have to worry that much about you because Lucas is already here." What?!
What are you doing here? I whispered at Lucas while Mom is not looking at us.
Did you not hear what your mom said? He whispered back.
"Oh Chan, here." She handed me some money. For what is this?
"Mom?"
"Take it. You have to buy your new ballet shoes and clothes. I saved that money. Use it."
"Mom, I don't need this. I can handle those things." I refused and insisted to return it but she also refuses.
"Take it Chandrea. I want you to take it. You are now near to your dreams and I am happy for you. Just think of it as my gift for you for passing the audition."
"Thank you mom." I hugged her tight. I am so luck to have her in my life. I really do. I wish she will live longer. I want to give her the life she deserves. I want her to be happy. My mother deserves everything.
~*~
After that simple breakfast, I decided to visit dad to thank him for everything. Lucas decided to go with me since mom can't go because she has some food deliveries. We rode at a cab going to dad after buying some flowers.
"Dad, I am here." I uttered. "I am sorry if it took me so long to visit you here. I just have to help mom in order to make a living. Dad, I passed the audition at the Corps' de Ballet of the University. Dad, I made it. Are you happy up there?" Tears suddenly fell down my face. "I miss you dad. I hope you can see me dancing at the stage again. I miss you. Mom and I miss you. Please take care of us okay? Dad, I will work hard in order to give mom the life she deserves. I will work hard. I love you dad."
I put the flowers on his grave and I faced Lucas. He was looking at me seriously.
"Are you done?" I nodded at him and smiled. "Let's go?" I nodded at him again and he bowed to dad's grave as a sign of respect.
"Alex?"
Alex. What is he doing here?
