A few weeks later. "Come into my office, Ms. Hart," Alpha Ezra ordered me through a call. "Now? Is there an emergency?" I asked in a groggy voice. It's the weekend and I need to sleep for as long as I can. Working with my mates while hiding my identity is super hard. Not to forget it takes a toll on me because of no physical touch from my mate. It's exhausting and nerve-wracking. I have to think thrice before every step. "No, but I'll not be working for a few days, and while I'm away you're going to look over my work," he said. "Alpha, I understand you're worried about your work but I'm your Secretary and I'm well aware of the work you need to do for the next few days. I assure you I'll do my best so you don't need to worry about that. Hope you have a nice vacation, Alpha," I said politely and hung up on the phone. I could care less if I was rude to my boss. Sleep is more important. I threw my phone aside and pulled my blankets up to my head. In just a few seconds, I was out. The next time I woke up, it was already past noon. "That was the best sleep I had in a while," I yawned and lazily stretched on my bed. I blankly stared at the ceiling for an hour straight before I dragged myself for a much needed shower. It was another ordinary day, except my mind filled with the thought of mates I don't want. I've decided to hide it from them but God it's so damn hard. Erza is always with me and it's so damn tempting to just jump on him and mark him. There were times where my wolf almost took control. I had to make random excuses for my canines peeking but it's so damn often that I'm running out of excuses. How can I take control over this situation? Or my wolf, should I say? I detest how much my wolf is smitten by them already. She gushes about their manly aura and their sexiness all day. I can only take so much before I start noticing everything about them. I'm becoming too aware of their presence and it's pissing me off. I had to come up with a plan to take my wolf under control, before she brainwashes me into getting what she wants. I won't listen to any of your nonsense. I need my mate with me. My wolf growled at me in anger. Whatever! Let's go out for a run, yeah? I changed the topic before she starts with her presentation about the importance of mates. I'm tired of listening to her repeated ramble. I want peace for the weekend and I don't want to think about anything more. Let's go for a run. My wolf howled in happiness. I sighed and went into the forest to unwind. *** (Erza's POV) "Did you find anything yet?" I asked Alarik. "I did find something and what I found is very interesting." A few weeks back we noticed that our senses are highlighted. We concluded that we did have our Lycan but it's dormant. Our Lycans are now starting to show their presence. Nothing happens without a reason and so we started doing our research as to why our Lycans are showing their presence now. "It happens only when you find your mate. Our Lycans have sensed the presence of their mates and hence they're showing the signs of waking up," Alarik presented to us what he found out. "How does that make sense? We have already found our mate and that's why our Lycans are showing their presence? Then when did we meet our mate? Who is it?" Oberon asked Alarik. "How would I know? We meet so many people, anyone can be our mate. We can only know when we get our Lycan." Alarik commented before he fell in deep thought. He jerked forward suddenly and looked at us, "it's our secretary, Blue." "No way. Why would you think so? Also, if she is our mate then she would have spoken to us about it," Oberon declined the possibility. "Since when do you think we started getting our Lycan abilities?" Alarik questioned us. "Since…," I started when I realised something. "Since we met her for the first time." "Exactly. So the possibility of her being our mate is high. Remember how we three found her attractive when we have never liked the same girl before? I think she is the one. Though there is a slim chance our guesses are wrong," Alarik said. "Then how do we confirm that she is our mate?" I asked no one in particular. "We can't feel her as our mate because our Lycan hasn't transformed yet. But there is another way we can confirm," Oberon smirked. "We can confirm through touch," he added. "She is too careful around us. It will be tough," I said. "Tough but not impossible. We have to create a situation where there is no choice left for her except her to come in contact with us," Alarik stated. "What are you planning?" Oberon asked. "I don't have a plan yet but soon I'll come up with one. And before we do that, I'm curious about something that I must find out," Alarik called someone and commanded some pack members to our house. We waited for whoever he had invited. "Alpha," the person he invited was a girl of our age. She bowed to us one by one and asked what we needed from her. "Do you know Blue Willow Hart?" Alarik didn't beat around the bush and asked her. "Yes, Alpha. We were transferred to this pack together," she replied. "Tell us what you know about her," he asked. "I don't remember much because we weren't close. In fact, the whole pack always kept their distance from her. I only remember she was always alone and one of the brightest students in the pack," the pack members said. "Your old pack kept their distance from her, you say. Why?" I asked. "Because of her parents. His father was a criminal who was looked down on by everyone," she said. "What else?" I questioned. "I heard her mother also committed suicide when her father was killed during a punishment. She was a year old or so when she was transferred to our pack. That's the only thing I know about her." "Ah, and she seems to detest mates," she added. "Why?" Alarik leaned forward and asked curiously. "I don't know the reason but during one of our classes when our teacher was explaining the importance of a mate, she asked the teacher how to reject them. When our teacher asked her why she was asking that, she said she hates mates and doesn't want one." "She hates mates?" I asked for confirmation. The girl nodded her head, yes. "You can go now," Oberon dismissed the pack member. "Nothing hurts more than knowing your mate hates mates," Alarik commented with a sigh. "What do we do now? Should we just seduce her?" Oberon asked. "We have to confirm she is our mate first," I reminded them both. "That's right," Oberon said. "And our guess is right, then she can't get away from our clutches." *** A/n- For now I'll be uploading one chapter per week but as I write more draft, I'll start updating two chapters or more per day.
