Chapter 15

2202 Words
Jamie’s POV I had a million questions that needed answers. That meant a million reasons to stay here with Aiden. Maybe it was this mate bond, but I was truly drawn to him. My body demanded his touch, so as his father left, I gently caressed his hand. This action created the electrifying tingles that created comfort in every cell of my body. With the caress, Aiden opened his fingers, each finding solace in between my own. I looked at Aiden apprehensively, wondering what was coming next. His eyes were swirling silver, slowly returning to their slate gray. “My Mom wants to meet you, Jamie,” he said, admiration coating his words, though whether that was for her or me, I was unsure. I glanced around his office, taking in the details. There was a large bookcase behind us, Aiden’s chair looking luxuriously businesslike. His wide desk sat in front of us, boasting a deep mahogany color with a smooth finish with intricate metal handles. The remaining chair in front of the desk looked like it belonged in an upscale waiting room, but appeared quite comfortable, much like the one I was sitting in. At least with the one I was currently occupying, I could tell from first hand knowledge, that it was in fact a very comfortable chair. There was also a small loveseat near the door creating additional seating for occupants of the office. I wondered how many meetings he had in his office like this. The walls were painted with a navy blue color while there was an accent wall across from the door. Meanwhile, the wall behind the desk had large windows with ivory curtains, which were pulled back allowing bright natural light to pour through. This office was quite impressive, at least to my untrained eye. I had to remember that Aiden was part of the business world, which means he probably had a lot more experience in the business aspects of life. If I was a little more focused on Aiden's body language rather than the design of the room, I would have noticed him tense up before his mother arrived. As I was lost in my thoughts admiring the room, the door opened, and in walked a middle aged woman with sandy blonde hair. Her figure was petite, but her sparkling blue eyes drew me in. She was wearing a peach colored dress and a violet sweater over it, supporting the professional tone she presented, with a pop of colorful flair. The sweater enhanced her hair color, which hung in dainty curls framing her face. “Ahh, Aiden. Lovely to see you, son.” The formality of her tone was not missed as I raised an eyebrow at her. “Mother.” Aiden said curtly. His mother looked at me and plastered a smile on her face. “Is this our lovely future Luna?” I couldn’t help the confusion that must have washed over my face. “Luna?” I couldn’t help but ask, my eyes snapping to Aiden for an explanation. “The Alpha’s mate is the Luna of the pack,” he answered, swiftly. “But you said I’m your mate, right?” I said, still not understanding what was happening exactly. “Yes, I’m actually the Alpha of the pack. In werewolf hierarchy, the Alpha is the leader of the pack to make decisions for the rest, and to protect it if need be. That would make you, my dear Jamie, my Luna.” His mother rolled her eyes at me and scoffed, apparently upset that I didn’t know about the werewolf hierarchy. “How do you not know this?” her voice rang out. “Mother!” Aiden raised his voice, but I didn’t need him to defend me. “It’s not exactly like I was raised by a pack of wolves. Just a human,” I shot back, a glint in my eye unable to hold back my sassiness. While I want to be polite to elders and all that s**t, respect is earned and she just lost mine. Aiden’s mom dramatically placed her hand over her chest, mouth agape, eyes wide like I’d just killed a puppy. “Aiden, you know there are certain… requirements for a Luna and I don’t think your mate has what it takes.” Her insinuation clear, the emphasis on the word mate amplifying the fact that I wasn’t good enough for her son, or this pack. “I will tell you the same thing I told you five years ago. I am not taking a chosen mate. The Moon Goddess makes no mistakes and Jamie will be a wonderful Luna and just what this pack needs.” Aiden said. His words created a warmth in my chest, but the sudden realization that I would not only be responsible for Jillian and Bella, and who knows how many pack members there are. The involuntary question came from my mouth. “How… many pack members are there?” “About 800,” Aiden answered, seeming to catch my change in emotion. I started to panic. Self doubt was fully engulfing my mind. I got up from my chair and walked around the desk, catching his mother’s smirk as I left the room. I started walking down the hall, unsure where I was going. Aiden caught up to me and guided me into an empty bedroom. He wrapped his arms around me, calming my spirit and easing my mind. Everywhere he touched sent tingles through my body. I had never wanted someone so badly as I wanted Aiden. I looked into those eye, feeling shame from the judgement passed on me. Aiden’s mother and father had both practically stamped me across my forehead with the phrase “Not Worthy.” They were right, of course. I wasn’t a leader. I was a waitress barely making ends meet. I had no education. No prestigious family. Hell, I didn’t even have a mother to guide me into adulthood. I was an orphan with no money or assets to my name. Why would I be worthy of their son? And definitely not worthy to lead a group of people, this pack of werewolves. A silent tear rolled down my cheek, but no sooner had it fallen, that I felt Aiden wipe it away with his thumb. He looked earnestly into my eyes, his face obscuring slightly with the presence of more tears forming. “Jamie, sweetheart, talk to me. What are you thinking?” His eyes were trying to read into my soul, to understand every aspect of my mind. My words were trying to form, but they kept getting lost before they were able to escape my mouth. Finally, I was able to form two small words. “I can’t…” my voice trailed off. I broke eye contact, looking down, though I still felt his gaze on my face. “Yes, you can. You can get as much help as you need. The biggest strength to a pack is when the Alpha has his fated mate and I’ve been waiting for you for the last eight years. You are everything I’ve ever dreamed of.” My eyes went from the floor back to his eyes searching for deception. I’ve been told a lot of bullshit over the years, but Aiden has never outright lied to me. The only ounce of deception with him was the fact that he didn’t tell me he was a werewolf and I understood why he didn’t. No way in hell I would have gone on a date with him if I’d known that. He would have scared me off before I even got to know him. But I know so much more now. Not only is he a wolf, but apparently, I am too. I momentarily wished I could go back to a simpler time, just a few days ago before I met Aiden. But then, I felt a pang of guilt knowing that I wouldn’t give Aiden up for anything. I can’t. Ugh, this must be the mate bond speaking. I have never been this dependent on a man. Ever! I sighed, closing my eyes for a moment, and looked back into his eyes. “Eight hundred people I’d be responsible for? I can barely take care of myself, Aiden. I’ve known you for, what, three days? You already have my life planned out for me! I bet you already have candidates in your head who would best be my assistant!” His eyes opened wide, and I knew that I had hit the nail on the head. He seemed like a planner and as soon as he realized I was going to be his Luna, he had practically planned out my office space for me. “I can’t do this. I can’t walk into a relationship and pigeonhole myself into a puzzle that you’ve already completed. It’s like you have your whole life planned out and I’m basically the missing piece you’re trying to force into the hole,” my voice raising with each word, as I felt completely overwhelmed like I wasn't in control of the situation. “Jamie, I… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you feel forced into anything. I just… I can’t live without you.” I was about to protest, when he leaned forward, and placed the most passionate kiss on my lips. His tongue licked my bottom lip, telling me that he was asking for me to open my mouth. I parted my lips allowing him entry, my tongue connecting with his, dancing intricate steps in a natural rhythm that seemed like instinct. I connected with him, those sparks shooting into my very core. My body demanded him. I needed to feel him with every fiber of my being. Aiden’s muscular arms were wrapped around my waist. One of his hands ventured down to my ass, squeezing it lightly and pulling me towards him. I felt my breathing get heavier as I yearned for him. At this exact moment, I knew exactly what I wanted and it was Aiden. I lifted my legs around his waist, both of his hands grasping my ass, holding up my weight. My arms around his neck, our lips still dancing together, moving in perfect synchronization. Aiden walked forward with us a few steps, then laid me down on the bed that I forgot was behind us. Aiden climbed on top of me and my body needed him right now. He pulled away from he, his eyes searching mine. I nodded my head, and he smashed his lips into mine, not wasting a single moment. Aiden poured every ounce of emotion he could into the kiss. He pulled away again, and whispered in my ear, his voice husky, “I can smell your arousal and you smell so f*****g delicious.” He placed gentle kisses on my neck, getting to the base where a sensitive spot sent shivers down my spine, making me moan. f**k. I realized if I didn’t stop this right now, we would go all the way. I definitely wanted this to happen, but I still had so many questions. I could feel against my hip that he wanted me too. His need for me seemed just as urgent as mine for him. Sensing my apprehension, Aiden backed away from me slightly. However, he inhaled deeply, and his eyes turned black. He trailed kisses down my breasts, lifting my shirt to continue the trail down my stomach. Aiden licked my body hungrily, tugging at my jeans to be pulled down. I lifted my hips so he could remove them. I could feel my juices pooling in my core. I’ve never been so worked up wanting a man so badly. Aiden growled at me, his face by my core. His tongue trailed above my pubic line, as he gently removed my panties. At this exact moment, I was glad that I had made sure to freshen up before our date. Aiden flicked his tongue over my slit, causing my back to arch off of the bed. He used both hands to grab my ass holding me in place as he hungrily licked every inch of my area. I felt the coil in my core tightening, as he drove me wild with his tongue. Aiden proceeded to take his finger and trace my opening, coating himself in my fluids before gently pushing inside of me, sparks trailing everywhere he touched. Aiden’s finger flicked the perfect spot, as his tongue continued to dance around sensitive bundle of nerves that made me come undone. I felt the orgasm coming, my body tensing before I felt complete euphoric release, putting me into a high that I’ve never experienced before. Aiden moved his face near mine and rested his forehead on mine, panting slightly. I could feel his erection against my body, but I felt fully relaxed at the release he just gave me. He kissed me passionately, as I could taste myself on him. It was at this moment, that I felt fully unsure of how we would be together, but that I was hopelessly lost without him.
