Chapter 5

Elissa was dumbfounded to see the woman whom Alejandro was meeting. The woman was named Shalsey Anderson. She was aware that their new supplier of feeds was a woman, but she wasn’t aware that the meeting could be this casual. The woman was wearing a tube top. Elissa knew that there were no rules about what to wear at that meeting. She just did not expect to see a woman wearing that for business meeting purposes.

Elissa glanced at Alejandro, as she could see the man was obviously enjoying the view. She unconsciously rolled her eyes.

“I hope we did not make you wait that long,” Alejandro said as he was sitting down.

Elissa pulled a chair, so she could sit down too. She wasn’t expecting Alejandro to do that for her, knowing that she was just only his secretary. Yes, Alejandro used to be such a gentleman when they were still together, but that was long ago. She was not expecting him to still treat her the same.

“Oh, not really,” Shalsey answered him, smiling.

Alejandro smiled back at the woman. Elissa could see that the two people in front of her were obviously flirting silently. She sighed. Alejandro took her to watch him flirt with this woman. She pitied her wife, as she could see the man was still the same. She thought that after cheating on her, the man would finally stick with the woman she thought Alejandro was in a relationship with right now. The woman, Elissa, thought of the reason why the man was rich and successful now.

“Let’s order first, I don’t want to starve a beautiful woman like you,” Alejandro said.

Alejandro said that on purpose, he wanted to see how Elissa would react if he flirted with someone in front of her.

As he was waiting for any sign of reaction from Elissa. The woman remained with her poker face. She was just using her tablet, probably preparing if there were things that he wanted her to take note of. He purposely complimented Shalsey, but it does not bother Elissa. That kinda irritated him, he wanted the woman to get jealous. But his simple tricks just didn’t work on her. He should level up his game. That’s what he thought.

The waiter went to them to get their order. Elissa lifted her head to order too, but Alejandro had already ordered food for them. Elissa just shrugged, she did not protest since she was also hungry, and it does not matter what Alejandro ordered as long as it could relieve her hunger.

Shalsey and Alejandro started talking about business matters. Elissa was also listening to them, but keeping her opinions to herself. Her opinion was about how Shalsey looks. How her breasts were suffocated in her tube top, it was like a balloon that was about to pop. Was it proper to wear something like that in a business meeting? Elissa asked herself.

“At the end of the month, the payment will be automatically sent to you,” Alejandro said to Shalsey.

Shalsey nodded, but what Elissa noticed was in her little movements her chest was moving also. A slight shake.

“Alright, I hate delayed payments or else…” The woman said with hidden meaning.

She bit her lips?!

Elissa was surprised by Shalsey’s behavior. The woman was obviously teasing Alejandro!

They did not wait long, and their food was served. Two steaks for Alejandro and Shalsey. The two seemed to be happy with their food while Elissa, on the other hand, was unhappy. It was so hard for her to swallow the vegetable salad Alejandro just ordered for her. As a person who loves eating meat, this salad would never satisfy her stomach. The man obviously hates her. He knew that she liked meat, but still ordered a vegetable salad.

Alejandro was secretly happy upon seeing Elissa in her displeased reaction. His ex-wife was having a hard time swallowing her food.

“This is so good!” Shalsey praised her food.

Elissa glanced at the woman’s plate, and swallowed.

That must be so delicious. The meat looks so tender and juicy!

She shook her head. Her mouth was already watering just from looking at the woman’s food. But there was nothing she could do. At least she has some food, just not enough.

“Yeah,” Alejandro agreed.

Elissa couldn’t help but to roll her eyes. Shalsey glanced at Elissa’s plate.

“Oh, why are you having vegetable salad? You should have steak too. It is superb!”

“Nah, she’s on a diet,” Alejandro said before Elissa could even answer the woman.

“Y-Yeah,” she agreed, unwillingly.

Diet? That never crossed Elissa’s mind. She was blessed to have a fast metabolism that helped her in shape. She loves food so much, that she could eat the whole day without getting fat. But despite that, she still exercises weekly that maybe helps her more to maintain her body.

“Aw, too sad,” Shalsey commented.

After eating, Alejandro and Shalsey talk again about their business agreement. The truth was there was nothing relevant to Elissa’s presence there. She could feel that, she knew that. But what she didn’t know was the reason why Alejandro had to take her there. She felt that she had wasted the time she was there. She was supposed to be done with other work she had in the office.

After the meeting, they were about to part their ways. And they were saying their goodbyes when something shocked Elissa.

“Thank you for your time. I am hoping for a smooth business transaction with you,” Alejandro said, smiling while they were already in the parking lot.

Coincidentally, his car was parked beside Shalsey’s car.

“You are welcome. Just tell me if you need more time from me,” Shalsey said in a flirtatious manner.

Elissa didn’t know how she would feel seeing her ex-husband being flirty in front of her. It was still clear in her memories how the man cheated on her, but seeing him face to face flirting with someone else was a different kind of feeling. There was a part of her that was still hurting, but she was convincing herself that it was not her business anymore. It doesn’t matter how many women he’ll flirt with, it does not concern her anymore.

Elissa thought that the two were done saying their goodbyes when Alejandro leaned to kiss Shalsey. Her eyes were widened in surprise when she saw how close Alejandro’s lips were to the woman’s lips.

“What the!” She said in surprise.
