Celine's POV
I couldn’t figure it out. How did Mary know Johnson had a Phillip Empire VIP card when I can not even remember seeing one?
"Johnson has a VIP card," Mary exclaimed, excitement palpable in her voice.
“Huh?” Confused, I asked.
"Yes, Johnson has a VIP card," Mary said again.
"Really? How do you know that? Honestly surprised”, I asked. "I did not know he had one."
"Everything Johnson got you for your anniversary had VIP tags on it, including the jewelry, shoes, and dress. Those products are exclusive to VIP clients.
Mary said and smiled,
I muttered, "I knew Johnson was rich, but I did not realize he was that wealthy."
"Do you recall how he placed their order?" Mary entered my room and inquired. She came back carrying the stuff in a VVIP bag.
My heart ached when I saw the bag. Hurt, I muttered, "It is too bad he never got to see me wear this."
“His loss, not yours. Mary waved it off”. She said, carefully opening the suitcase.
"What should we do now that we know he is a VVIP client?"I forced a weak smile.
"Simple, We obtained Johnson's VIP card," Mary said with confidence.
"Acquire his VIP card? How?” Confused, I asked.
"Go see him and ask for it," Mary said.
"No way.” I said, getting to my feet, "I am not doing that."
"What do you mean? Simply go see him to obtain the card." Mary said.
"I can not do that,” I said, I tried not to cry.
“Why not?” Mary questioned in a firm tone.
"Why? Johnson constantly calls, but I never pick up. He had deceived me! Would you prefer that I simply go to his home and request his VIP card?" My eyes began to well up with tears, and my voice broke. "I can not stop my heart from beating for him."
Mary softened and hugged me. “I’m sorry, Celine. I had no idea you were still that devoted to him."
"I am crying, I miss him so much.I still have feelings for him.” My heart screams his name. This house has everything that makes me think of him. Would you like me to go to his house too? I pointed to my chest and said, "This is where it hurts."
"Please stop crying. I had no idea that you and him were still in love." Mary led me back to the couch after gently wiping away my tears.
"You do realize that I will not go? Do you mean that I will not go to his house?” With tears welling up in my eyes, I asked her.
“You won’t go. I promise," Mary comforted me.
"Pinky swear?" I extended my index finger.
When Mary saw me hooking her pinky, she rolled her eyes. We both burst out laughing.
I laughed and said, "I think it is the hormones making me so emotional."
"Yeah, and that is why we need to get you to be your baby's daddy," Mary said and smiled.
"But I have no feelings for him." I said with objection.
“You feel something for Johnson, but that is not important. The future of your child is at stake here. Do you get it?” Mary explained.
I nodded. "And for my child to have a father figure in their life," I continued
"Exactly."Mary said, softening her tone
"So, how are we going to do it?" I looked to Mary for a plan as I asked.
"Since Johnson is not in the picture, we should register for the meet and greet with Phillip," Mary suggested.
“What if we do not get to meet him, though? With doubt,” I asked.
"Ignore that way of thinking, we have to try” Mary tossed a pillow at me in jest.
I picked up the pillow and threw it away. "But you are aware that it is true," I said.
I knew deep down that Phillip would not be there. I would probably only get an autograph and a picture even if we did get together. But I was afraid of what Johnson would say or think if he found out I was pregnant.
"If this meet and greet does not work out, I will go see Johnson and get his VVIP card." I replied
"Really? Will you carry that out?" Surprised, Mary asked.
"Only if things go wrong at the meet and greet," I said.
"Okay, let us make sure we do this correctly," Mary chuckled.
Using her phone, she scheduled us for the meet and greet. “Done. "I am number 26, and you are number 25," she smiled.
There was a pause before Mary continued. "If Johnson is a VVIP client, don't you think that Johnson and Phillip Empire are connected in some way?"
"What?" I couldn’t figure it out.
“You will have problems if I am correct. You might turn out to be the bad guy in all of this." Mary cautioned
"Explain what you mean," I asked, confused.
I put on Johnson's dress, shoes, and jewelry as I prepared for the meet and greet. I experience a mix of reluctance and determination. I had to wear it if I wanted Phillip to notice me.
“Are you ready?” Mary called out.
I took my bag and went to join her. *What do I look like?” I asked in a tense voice.
“You look stunning," Mary said, her eyes widened.
I led her to the car, and together we drove to the location. The crowd matched the opulence of the lavishly decorated grand hall. Though I did not ask, I was wondering how much Mary had paid for the tickets.
We waited while seated in the front row. The event was supposed to be hosted by Phillip, but he arrived late. Angry at the wait, I watched the crowd enjoy the Phillip commercials.
I was trying to think of a way to catch his attention. I remembered Phillip as friendly and relatable, even though he appeared polished on stage.
“Are you okay?” Mary gave me a quick tap on the arm.
"I wanted to know how you were doing," she said again, holding my hand loosely.
My forced smile turned into, "I am fine, just tired."
I ran to the toilet because I was sick. My heart almost leaped out of my chest when I noticed someone standing close to the door as I was about to leave.
“Mary! Why are you in this place? I let out a cry, struggling to breathe.
“You’re so jumpy! I am the only one.”Mary tried not to laugh too much.
"Well, I did not know that a moment ago." I said, irritated.
"Okay, okay, I am sorry," Mary said still laughing.
"You did not come in here just for the toilet."I said as I turned to leave.
"Phillip is about to leave after completing his speech. Have you made any plans? Mary sighed.
"That evening, Phillip forgot his watch, so..." I smiled at her.
"Girl, why didn't you tell me this earlier?" With amazement, Mary uttered those words.
"I forgot about it," I said.
At that moment, I noticed a disturbance at the doorway—two bodyguards were holding Violet in check, and Phillip, drenched, was walking towards me in the direction of the bathroom.
“Good luck!” I blushed with shame as Mary yelled at me from behind.
"Please," I pleaded, my eyes wide with need. With a wave of his hand, Phillip signaled to me that the bodyguard should stop.
“Young lady, how may I help you?” Phillip spoke in a deep, calm, and courteous voice.
I was relieved when he stopped, and I sighed. I took his watch out of my purse. “Here, is this yours?” I smiled shyly as I gave it to him.
"Yes, tell me how you found this."Phillip took the watch and checked it. “
Just as I opened my mouth to reply, Phillip
said, "You must be Johnson's girlfriend?"
"What?" With a racing heart, I said. I made an effort not to vomit, but I mistakenly got some of Phillip's clothes.
