2. Find the IVF Patient

Andrea had been married to Cedric for almost three years, and in all that time, not a single day had he been faithful to her. From the very beginning, Cedric’s infidelity was blatant, parang wala siyang pakialam kung masaktan man siya o mapahiya. “For almost three years, Andrea! You don’t belong here! Your place is at home! Andrea’s lips trembled as she forced out a smile, clutching at the fragile hope in her chest. “Cedric, I’m pregnant,” she whispered, voice breaking between joy and fear. “It’s a success this time. Magkakaanak na tayo, Ced. Magiging daddy ka na.” Her eyes shimmered with unshed tears, brimming with anticipation. We’re having a baby.” She took a small step closer, her heart hammering against her ribs. “You’re having an heir.” She was about to embrace him, her arms already lifting, hope lighting her face pero bago pa man siya makalapit, mariing itinulak siya ni Cedric. With a look of pure disdain, Cedric crumpled the paper in his hand and flung it back at her. Andrea froze, eyes widening in shock as the document hit her chest before fluttering helplessly to the floor. “Finally!” Cedric’s voice dripped with venom, his lips curling into a mocking smile. “I can walk away from this hell you call a f*****g marriage! At last, I’ll be free from the chains of being tied to someone like you, Andrea!” “C—Cedric… Anong ibig mong sabihin?” Cedric leaned back, a cruel smirk twisting his lips as he dropped the bomb meant to crush her. “The sperm they injected into you during all those artificial inseminations? They weren’t mine, Andrea. Not a single one. Did you really think I’d ever give you that part of me?” Her lips parted, but no words came out. All she could do was stare, stunned, at the man she once believed was worth every sacrifice. “With Clarinda’s help, they used other men’s sperm on you. Pathetic, isn’t it? Took you forever to even get pregnant. But finally, you did. And now you’re carrying another man’s child. Which means I finally have the perfect reason to throw you out of my life, Andrea. For good.” “Now it’s easy for me to twist the story and win everyone’s sympathy. I’ll forge proof, spread it around, make them believe you cheated and got yourself pregnant with another man’s child. That way, Angkong will have no choice but to believe me. And don’t you dare try to cause a scandal, Andrea.” Dinuro siya ng esposo. “Or you’ll walk away from this annulment with nothing. Not a single cent.” MEANWHILE, inside the towering Yapchingco Energy Systems International (YESI) building… The Executive Chairman of Yapchingco Energy Systems International was just about to leave his office, gathering his suit jacket from the back of his chair, when the door burst open. His male executive assistant hurried inside, breathless. His face was pale, his voice unsteady as he forced out the words. “Sir… we have a problem. A very serious one.” The Chairman stilled, one hand frozen on the polished wood of his desk, his eyes narrowing at the interruption. A storm brewed in his gaze as he turned toward him. “What kind of problem?” he asked, his voice calm but laced with steel. “Sir… a call just came through from Tiongson Medical Hospital.” The Chairman stopped in his tracks, the weight of those words settling heavily in the room. Slowly, he turned, eyes narrowing, every trace of composure hardening into something darker. “What happened to my fiancée?” His voice was low, commanding, the kind that left no room for hesitation ngunit nagkukubli sa tinig nito ang pag-aalala. “It’s not about Miss Gwen, Sir,” the assistant said nervously. “It’s about the sperm sample you deposited at Tiongson Medical Hospital. Sir… they just reported it’s been stolen.” The chairman, already on his feet, froze in disbelief. His eyes widened, then narrowed with fury. “What?!” his voice thundered, echoing through the office. “Stolen? How the hell could something like that happen under their watch?!” His fists slammed against the desk, eyes blazing with fury as the weight of the revelation sank in. “Sir… it’s confirmed. Your sperm sample was stolen from the hospital. And according to the initial investigation, the thief delivered it to another facility, an institution called OrientCare Medical Plaza.” The chairman spat out a curse, his voice seething with restrained fury. “Fix this now, Guillermo! Before it spirals out of control!” he thundered. His glare could have cut through steel. “That sperm sample was not just any sample. It belonged to me!” Executive Chairman McKenzie Drew Yapchingco was no ordinary man. He stood at the pinnacle of power and wealth, the iron hand behind Yapchingco Energy Systems International (YESI)—a conglomerate that supplied energy across nations and dictated the pulse of economies. With influence that stretched beyond borders, he was both feared and revered. His decisions could raise empires or reduce corporations to dust. To him, legacy was everything. His name, his bloodline, his empire—each was a pillar that defined his existence. That was why the stolen sperm sample carried more weight than gold or oil. It wasn’t just biology. It was the seed of his lineage, the continuation of the Yapchingco empire. In the wrong hands, it could be weaponized, twisted into scandal, or worse will be used to birth an heir that was not of his choosing. For a man who built an empire on control, the thought of losing dominion over something as vital as his own blood was intolerable. That sample was not merely important, it was priceless, irreplaceable, and dangerous in the grip of anyone but him. The male secretary swallowed hard, still unable to meet the executive chairman’s blazing eyes. His palms were damp, his voice barely steady as he spoke. “Understood, Sir. I’ll take care of it… I promise.” He bowed his head deeper, as though submission could shield him from the storm of the executive chairman’s fury. In his mind, failure was not an option. To serve McKenzie Drew Yapchingco meant living under the weight of perfection; one mistake could cost him not just his position, but his future. “But, Sir… there’s something else you need to know,” the secretary said cautiously, his voice barely above a whisper. “What is it? Speak. Now.” “According also to the report I received, Sir… your sperm sample has already been… used,” the secretary said, his voice trembling. “It’s been injected into an IVF patient there… at that hospital.” The chairman’s eyes snapped open, his face darkening as a vein throbbed at his temple. He slammed his fists on the desk once more, rattling papers everywhere. “What the…?!” His voice was a low, dangerous growl, each word dripping with fury. “Do you have any idea what you’re telling me? My bloodline, my legacy, used by some random IVF patient?!” The male secretary froze, unable to speak. He knew all too well what it meant when the executive chairman was enraged. He’s like a devil unleashed. McKenzie Drew Yapchingco’s wrath could crush anyone foolish enough to cross him. The air in the office felt suffocating, each heartbeat echoing the male secretary’s fear. McKenzie Yapchingco leaned forward, glare piercing the male secretary like a blade. “I will make every person involved in this disgrace pay! No one will escape my wrath. And for that IVF patient… locate her for me, immediately!”
