Chapter 4: A New Environment

Aoi's POV

*We arrived at the Apartment*

The apartment I am going to stay with Haru is owned by Fujiwara Corp. The same company that disappointed me. It is called Fujiwara Homes.

Haru said he knows it is owned by Fujiwara Corp because the logo of this Apartment Complex is almost the same as the Fujiwara Corp's Logo.

Haru: Sorry if I didn't tell you sooner.

Aoi: Don't worry about it. It's not like the CEO would live here.

Haru: Ahmm... About that....

Aoi: Wait! He lives here?

Haru: Not really... It's just that he sometimes stays here. That's what the people I asked tells me. Since you know, I'm basically new here too. Just make sure he didn't see you coming here. If you really don't want to see him again.

Aoi: s**t! That would be a problem.

Haru: Why do you hate him so much though. Do you perhaps know him in person. It seems like the two of you is very close before.

Aoi: How did you know?

Haru: Just a gut feeling of some sort.

Aoi: We do know each other. He is one of my classmate in college and as far as I know I think we are very close to each other at that time. But, because of what happened the other day. I realized that the real him doesn't even care about me.

Haru: Don't say that. Maybe, he's just shy.

Aoi: Nah... That's not his character at all. He's an introvert but not a shy person. If that makes sense.

Haru: If he's an introvert, he is also a shy person.

Aoi: Not shy just very observant.

Haru: If you say so.

Aoi: By the way, I actually received many missed calls from him today. I don't know what he wants.

Haru: Why not call him? It might be something important.

Aoi: Do you think so?

Haru: Well, your the one that is going to decide not me. If you want to call him. You can call him outside. Since I'm going to cook our dinner for tonight.

Aoi: OMG!! I am looking forward to it.

Haru: If you don't wanna call him. Can you clean the dishes for me.

Aoi: Ok! I'm going to call him then.

Haru: Your such a sly Aoi!

Aoi: Sorry haha!!

I decided to call Daiji because I'm not in a mood to clean something. I guess I just need to face my problem now.

*Outside the Apartment*

After calling Daiji 5 times. He finally answered my calls.

Aoi: Why do you keep calling me earlier? What do you want from me Daiji?

Daiji: Meet me tomorrow at the Italian Restaurant near my company. I need to tell you something.

Aoi: Why can't you tell me now? We're already talking.

Daiji: It's complicated so I want to meet you in person.

Aoi: Like a date?

Daiji: No... Just a former college classmates meeting each other. That's all.

Aoi: Do you really think I want to see you again?

Daiji: I know what I did to you is the worst thing ever but I can give you any job you want after you listen to what I say.

Aoi: You don't need to give me any job. I already have one.

Daiji: There's no way...someone hire...y...

Aoi: There's no way someone will hire me?

Daiji: That's not what I wanna say. It just that..

Aoi: I hate you Daiji. There is no way I'll talk to you in person or even on the phone if your like that.

Daiji: Ok I'm a horrible person but please talk to me in person tomorrow. It is very important. My life defends on it.

Aoi: What do you mean?

Daiji: I'll tell you what it's all about tomorrow in person. Just please don't stood me up.

Aoi: You are so pathetic Daiji. You just ruin your good image to me. It's was unfortunate to be honest.

Daiji: .....

Aoi: I'm gonna hang up now. Someone is waiting for me.

Daiji: Who?

Aoi: You don't need to know. BYE!!

Daiji: Wait! AOI!! Please don't hang up. I am begging you!!

I hang up after he says that. I really don't know what he wants but, it's really intriguing though. I might come and meet him.

After that, I eat with Haru. He is such a good cook. I am so impressed.

Aoi: The food you cook is like one of the best food I ever tasted. I can't believe a guy like you can cook like that.

Haru: That's just one of my perks. All the girls I sleep with loves it too.

Aoi: Haru! Stop saying it like that. Your gross.

Haru: Are you afraid I will sleep with you too?

Aoi: Nah! There's no way you will take interest in me. I'm literally one of the ugliest. That's what my parents keeps telling me.

Haru: Your not Ugly at all. Your parents is totally blind. You look decent to me.

Aoi: If I'm just decent then i really am ugly.

Haru: Stop saying that. Please have more confidence in yourself. Don't look down on yourself. Love yourself and be proud what you have.

Aoi: Thank you for the advice. I highly appreciate it.

I'll try my best to love myself from now on.

Haru: Good! Let's go watch some TV shows together then.

Aoi: Sure!!

After watching a Tv Show called The Manifest which is really good. Can't wait for the next episode. Where still in S1 EP 3. Imagine it happening in real life. I would like to be the one of the passengers. Haha... I just want to have a Psychic Ability that all. Haha...

Haru decided to sleep in the couch for awhile while I am going to sleep in his bed since we are still not certain about where is his and my room be. We decide to talk about it tomorrow. I fell asleep after taking a bath.

Haru's POV

I can't believe I am living with a girl from now on. Eew... If she's not a kind person I will never allow her in my bedroom. She's even sleeping in my bed right now. That is so disgusting. If I am going to sleep in my bed next time. I need to change the sheets right away. I don't want to sleep in her Germs. Because just like what her parents is saying to her. She is actually the ugliest girl I have ever seen in my entire life. I can't believe I allow her to stay with me. All my girlfriends will think I let a homeless person stay with me which what she actually is earlier while they can't stay with me.

I need to kick her out of my house right away. I don't want anyone to know my secret.

THE NEXT DAY...

I decided to wake up Aoi so I knock on the bedroom door. No matter what I do. She's not waking up. So I decide to go inside and she's sleeping like she don't wanna wake up anymore. Her saliva is also falling from her mouth. So I decided to shout loudly to wake her up.

Haru: AOI!! WAKE UP!!!

She woke up right away.

Aoi: Why are you shouting so loud Haru?

Haru: Don't you remember? This is the second day of your job?

Aoi: I decided not to go today.

Haru: Why? It's still your second day of work?

Aoi: Apparently... Someone needs me today. I'm gonna meet him up later.

Haru: Is it Sir Dan?

Aoi: Yes! I decided to meet up with him today because I feel like he needs me to help him to something he can't do alone.

Haru: Are you sure he does not have some ulterior motive?

Aoi: Yes! Because I known him for quite a long time. I do think he needs my help.

Haru: You need to be careful though. If you ever needs help to something just call me.

Aoi: Sure! why not!

I don't know why I told Aoi I can help her anytime she needs me. I really should stop acting kind to her if I really want her to move out ASAP.

After the conversation I took a bath and then eat my breakfast then goes to work. While Aoi is still laying in bed sleeping again. I can't believe Aoi is absent in her second day. I wonder what Sir Dan will think about this.

Daiji's POV

I wonder if Aoi is going to show up. I really hope she is because I know she's the only person who has a better chance of helping me.

*1 hour passed*

She really did stood me up. I can't believe it. (In my head)

After thinking about that. She suddenly shows up.

Aoi: Good Morning!!

Daiji: Morning!

Aoi: Sorry if I'm late. I didn't realized I feel asleep again after waking up for awhile.

Daiji: It's fine! Don't worry!!

Aoi: Good! By the way, make sure to give me a job after this. Because my boss might fire me today since Its supposed to be just my second day there today.

Daiji: Sure! No problem!!

Aoi: So... what do you really want from me?

Daiji: I'm supposed to have a Fiance now but, I don't like all the candidates my parents wants me to choose.

Aoi: So.. what do you want me to do about that?

Daiji: I want you to help me.

Aoi: Help you to find a Fiance? right away?

Daiji: No! I want you to be my "Fake" Fiance so that my parents will stop matching me up with other girls I didn't even know.

Aoi: What? Are you hearing what your saying Daiji. There's no way I'll do that for you. No freaking way..

Daiji: I only asked you this because I know you like me before.

Aoi: What? That's just a total misunderstanding. It's not me who likes you. It's Minako. I say that before. Don't you heard it?

Daiji: I heard it but.. since I saw you smiling when someone teases you about me. I thought you really do like me. Since you also gave me 2 chocolate bars before.

Aoi: Yeah I gave you that. Same with all our other classmates.

Daiji:...

Aoi: I can't believe you chose me just because of that.

Daiji: You also always seats next to me whenever we have a test.

Aoi: Well that's because, that's the only seat available. Also because I hate seating at the back.

Daiji: Because it's hard to copy other peoples answer if your in the back?

Aoi: Yes!! That's right!

Daiji: But, your not even copying anyone. I know a cheater when I saw one and I know your not one of them.

Aoi: *Blushes*

Daiji: See your blushing now. You did like me.

Aoi: I'm not. It's just that I can't believe another guy compliment me just like yesterday.

Daiji: Who's guy?

Aoi: That is none of your business.

Daiji: Do you have a boyfriend?

Aoi: Boy-friend not Boyfriend. He helps me a lot. Don't asked more questions about him because I'm not gonna answer them.

Daiji: O..k.. so.. what is your decision? Do you accept my offer or not? I'll give you a lot of money just for you to stay being my Fake Fiance. What do you think?

Aoi: Give me 3 days to think about it.

Daiji: Yes!! I thought your just blatantly gonna reject me.

Aoi: Nah... I'm not that heartless of a person.

Daiji: I know....

Aoi: By the way, If I didn't call or see you again within 3 days that means it's a no.

Daiji: Understood!!

Aoi: Ok I gotta go now. I still needs to go work even if I'm late. I don't want Sir Dan to fire me after just 2 days after he gave me free passed just because his bestfriend is kinda close to me.

Daiji: Wait! Dan hire you without an interview?

Aoi: Not really since we talked before he actually hired me. Wait! You know my boss?

Daiji: Of course! He owned the most talk about company right now.

Aoi: Apparently they say your company sales goes down so bad. That's why your company is just second now.

Daiji: That's fine! At Least were still at the top 2.

Aoi: Wow! I love your optimism. Daiji.

Daiji: Did you just fall for me?

Aoi: Of course not! Stop teasing me or I will never not consider what you want from me.

Daiji: Ooopss sorry!! By the way, I can call Dan and tell him I'm the reasons why your late.

Aoi: Please don't! I'll handle it on my own.

Daiji: If you say so.

Aoi left after that. I can't believe she's actually still the same Aoi that I know before. I really hope she accept my offer to her though. She's the perfect candidate because she's different from any other girl. I just hope she will realized how glad I was that I was able to see her again. She always lightens my day even in the past.

Dan's POV

I can't believe Aoi is absent in her second day to her job. Should I fire her or not? I can't believe I actually hire her without an actual interview the other day.

*Message Received*

A message from Daiji. I wonder what is this about.

From, Daiji

Please don't fire Aoi just because of me. She's with me earlier today because I need to talk to her about something. She's on the way there now. Please don't be mad at her. It's entirely my fault. I beg her to meet up with me just because of my own selfish needs.

To, Dan

I thought she's still angry at him for treating her like an outcast the other day.

Why did she meet up with him?

I really don't understand her at all.

Also, why are they acting like they know each other for such a long time. Something feels very fishy about this.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

There's a new character named Yoshida Akame. She's the Secretary of Makino Management. So basically the Secretary of Makino Dan. She's going to help her boss Dan in anyway she can.

Secretary's POV

Hi guys! My name is Yoshida Akame. A Secretary at Makino Management Company. I am assigned to help my boss in anyway I can.

Today, Ms. Aoi, one of the new employee is late at her new job. It's only her second day here so it's kinda weird that she allowed herself to be this late.

She said she wants to talk to Boss Dan so, I decided to help her.

Secretary Akame: Sir! Ms. Aoi is here. She said she wants to talk to you.

Dan: Tell her I'm busy. (Even though I'm not)Tell her to make sure she's not late again next time or there's a big chance I'll definitely fire her.

Secretary Akame: Are you sure about that Sir?

Dan: Are you questioning your boss authority?

Secretary Akame: Not really, It's just that I can feel that you actually wants to talk to her but you can't... Is it because... of Ms.Runa?

Dan: Stop saying that Akame! You know I can't escape my destiny no matter what it do.

Secretary Akame: I'm just joking Sir Dan! But I really hope you will think about yourself sometimes. I can help you get out of your Engagement if you want.

Dan: What do you mean?

Secretary Akame: I have a lawyer friend. He can help you get out of your Engagement but, there's a catch. A hearing might happen.

Dan: Nah! Whoever that friend of yours is. Tell him he will never be able to win with them too. Runa is not the only Enemy. My parents and her parents too. I literally have no one. Except maybe Junya who still look after me from time to time.

Secretary Akame: I am also here too Sir Dan! I will also do my best to help you. Just call me when your ready to take off literally your entire Family in your life In order for you to be happy. Me, Junya and my friend will be there to help you.

Dan: Thanks!

Secretary Akame: No problem Sir Dan!

Dan: By the way,Get out of here now. Tell Aoi what is my condition right away and then let her go to work.

Secretary Akame: Right away Sir!

Boss Dan just couldn't admit his feelings for Ms.Aoi. I know he likes that new girl so bad. I guess it's up to him if he wants their relationship to grow or not.

Meanwhile... Ms. Aoi decided to just go to Obituary Department right after I tell her she only got a warning but with a "catch" (A condition that she needs to follow) and then thank me for telling her right away. She's also thankful that she's not fired.

A kind hearted person like her is what this company needed but I don't know if she will last here for a long time. I hope she will though. Because she's such an unexpected person. A company will not be boring because she's here.

Haru's POV

I wonder what Aoi and Sir Daiji talks about today. It could be good, it could be bad but I hope she's ok. (In Haru's Mind)

Company Employee 1: Have you guys heard?

Company Employee 2: Heard what?

Company Employee 1: It seems like the new girl at the Obituary Department is so late today. They say there's a big chance she will be fired today after just 1 day working here.

Company Employee 3: I mean, she's literally not suited to be here. She's too ugly for our companies standard hahaha..

Company Employee 1: I super agree. She's also not suited to talk to our Boss like she knows him for a long time.

Company Employee 3: Right? She acts so high and mighty just because our boss talks to her. Shame on her.

Company Employee 1: Yeah!!

I know I am not supposed to listen to other peoples business but, Aoi is not as bad as what they are saying. Atleast she respects other people who clearly did not respect her. I admire her for that.

Company Employee 2: Guys! Stop talking bad on someone you don't really know.

Haru: I agree.

Company Employee 1: Newbie! Stop listening to our conversation.

Haru: I was not supposed to listen but you guys just talks really loud.

Company Employee 3: Who cares?

Haru: You care or not. It's not good to badmouth someone you don't even talk to yet.

Company Employee 2: Your absolutely right! You guys are so horrible.

Company Employee 1: Shut up! Your literally one of us.

Haru: For your info guys. The real reason why our Boss talks to her yesterday is because the two of them study in the same highschool but they are not classmates just acquaintance.

Company Employee 2: Whoa! Cool!

Company Employee 1: They know each other or not. We still hates her guts.

Haru: Go ahead it's not like I can change your mind about it. Just don't talk about her again or I will report you guys to our Boss.

Company Employee 3: Tssk....

Company Employee 1: .....

After calling them out. Both of them stops talking about Aoi. I also do hate her but not at the extent that those 2 Employee had for her. I hope she was not scolded or fired by our Boss today though. That would be very embarrassing if it actually happened.

After all the working hours today..

I am now at the apartment waiting for Aoi to go home. I really hope she's ok.

I waited for her for hours but she's still not home.

Did she get lost getting here or does something bad happened to her? (In Haru's Mind )

At 10pm. Aoi arrived at home.

Aoi: Tadaima!! (I'm Home!!)

I pretended I'm already sleeping in the couch because we still don't know who should used the only room we have. We're supposed to talk about it today. I guess since I don't want her to realize I'm not sleeping. I decided to let her used the room again for today. It seems like she goes straight to the bedroom and then sleep. Maybe she already eat the dinner somewhere else. This girl is just so full of mysteries. I can't help but pay attention to her all the time.

THE NEXT DAY...

While I was cooking our breakfast.

Aoi: Good Morning Haru!

Haru: Morning!

Aoi: I can't believe I fell asleep without eating and taking a bath last night. Now I am so hungry.

Haru: What time did you arrived home last night?

Aoi: At maybe around 10pm.

Haru: What? How did that happened?

Aoi: Well since I'm so late yesterday. My punishment is I need to do Overtime unpaid so that's what I did last night. I even forgot to eat dinner.

Haru: That's why when I woke up and your dinner is still at the table.

Aoi: I'm so sorry about that. I am so disappointed I forgot to eat the food you cook for me.

Haru: Don't worry about it. It is not your fault. Your just really tired.

Aoi: Thank you for understanding. I really thought I will be fired yesterday. I can't believe Daiji just straight up asked me something so shocking in our meeting. I still think about it now. It gave me anxiety somehow.

Haru: What did he asked specifically?

Aoi: I can't tell you for now. It's a top secret.

Haru: What do you mean? Am I still not your friend?

Aoi: Of course your my friend but, I still don't know you much so I have to put some kind of wall for awhile. Until I'm really sure I can trust you.

Haru: Ok! If you say so.

I really can't figure her out. I think I need help from one of my Kittens so I can figure much faster who Aoi really is.

Haru: By the way... Aoi! One of my friend will stay overnight here later. Can we used the room just for today. I don't want my visitor to sleep in a sofa.

Aoi: Of course! No problem. By the way.. is it a boy or a girl?

Haru: Of course it's a girl. The two of you might like each other not gonna lie.

Aoi: I hope so. Is she your girlfriend?

Haru: Well... Yeah she is.

Aoi: Isn't it weird that I am staying with you while you have a girlfriend?

Haru: It's not weird at all. Don't worry too much. She's a good person.

Aoi: I hope your right. Because if she didn't want me here. I can find somewhere else to stay.

Haru: Stop thinking about that Aoi!. It's totally fine. Stop worrying too much.

Aoi: I just can't help it. There's already many scenario in my head of her possible reaction when she sees me.

Haru: Don't be too paranoid Aoi! That's why your panicking.

Aoi: Sorry! This is just the real me reacting to a shocking situation.

Haru: Ok! To calm your Anxiety. I will tell you this. She already know that your staying with me and she can't stay here because she's already married.

Aoi: No freaking way. That's insane.

Haru: Does it make you feel a little bit calmer though?

Aoi: I guess I did.

Haru: That's good.

After 15 minutes. The breakfast is done.

Haru: Breakfast is ready!!

Aoi: Wow! I can finally eat.

Haru: Eat as much as you like.

Aoi: I will!!

After eating breakfast. Aoi took a bath really really fast. She said she don't want to be late anymore. I ask her to go to work with me since I have a motorcycle but she refused me. She said she don't want any type of rumor to spread. If only she knows the rumor people have on her. She's definitely gonna have an anxiety attack.

Aoi's POV

Haru just left. I hate commuting but I need to do it since now I know he has a girlfriend. It's not actually because I don't want some rumor about us spreading. I just that i don't want to hurt someone else feelings.

Haru really reminded me of someone I know before. If only I can see him again. I would like to apologize to him with all my heart. He deserves everything in the world. I'm just glad he is happy now with his own family. I saw his social media account on my 25 birthday. I don't know why I just casually look for his account that day and then actually found it somehow. That day is literally something else.

I am now at the train station. I'm just really glad I now know how to commute on my own in long distance. Because if I still can't do it. I am probably still stuck in our house with my Narcissist Parents today.

Finally inside the company. On the way to the Obituary Department. While I was walking towards the stairs to go down to the ground floor. I noticed someone very familiar. It was my sister Airi.

Airi: Hello there my sister!

Aoi: Oh s**t! Airi! How did you find me?

Airi: I unblocked you on the social media and find your location in it. This is where you are last night so I told Rei (Airi's Boyfriend) to drive me here. I just want to make sure your ok.

Aoi: I am totally fine don't worry. Did you tell Mom and Dad that you found me?

Airi: Nah... I also stop communicating with them when I realized how they badly treated you. I blocked you at first because I'm just really mad at that time.

Aoi: How did you know they treated me badly?

Airi: I asked all our cousins and all of them told me they are very glad you got away from them early. They told me how much they badmouth you not only in front of you but they also rant you on them sometimes. They also said to them many times that they don't care if something bad happens to you in the future. There reasoning is so that there would be less Ugly people here on Earth. Is that true?

Aoi: Yeah they keep telling me that over and over again in front of me, behind my back. That's why I decided to take some money from them and then runs away.

Airi: I'm glad you actually know where to go. You used to be so scared to commute alone.

Aoi: I planned everything earlier. While on the way. I am watching a video on my phone where to go next and I ended up here.

Airi: By the way, this company is very huge.

Aoi: Right? I love it here.

Airi: By the way, is this the company that you talk about before?

Aoi: No! It's a different one. I turned it down.

Airi: Why?

Aoi: They are offering me to be their Janitor.

Airi: No freaking way. That is horrible.

Aoi: Very horrible.

Airi: Then why are you here then? How did you end in this huge company and why are you here till 8-9pm last night. I saw it in your location.

Aoi: It is only my second day here yesterday but I am so late that day that my boss gave me a punishment.

Airi: What Punishment?

Aoi: Unpaid Overtime for one night.

Airi: Wow! Not bad for a punishment.

Aoi: So that's actually normal?

Airi: Yeah! Just be glad they didn't fire you right away.

Aoi: Definitely very glad.

Airi: So, why is your department in the ground floor? I only know because someone in the counter told me about it But, she does not want to tell me what department it is.

Aoi: It's the Obituary Department.

Airi: What? What is your job there? Isn't it about dead people?

Aoi: Yeah! But it's not what you think. We just write an Obituary for the dead people but we are not a Mortician or something else related to dead people.

Airi: Oh good! How did you get the job though?

Aoi: I met one of my classmate in High School and since he is friend of the CEO of this company. He recommended me to him.

At first, I thought he's not gonna accept me but he did because his friend recommended me to him. He does not have a choice but to hire me.

Airi: Why Obituary Writer though?

Aoi: Since all the other writer jobs is taken and I know writing obituary will be very interesting for me since it's like an essay but about other people's life. Since I'm literally new. My job is just to assist my coworkers for the mean time.

Airi: Of course! That's how everybody started.

Aoi: I guess so!

Airi: By the way.. where are you staying right now?

Aoi: Ahmm....... I ... Ahmm... Asked one of my coworker if I can stay with her for awhile while I am saving for money to get my own apartment. (Of course I lied to her. )

Airi: That's good! I am so glad you are in a good condition.

Aoi: I am also glad your actually not mad at me.

Airi: How could i? I'm your sister Duh...Ok! I gotta go now. Me and Rei is gonna late to work.

Aoi: Sure! Nice to see you Sis!

Airi: Nice to see you too big Sister! Make sure to call me when you need anything ok?

Aoi: Ok!!

Airi: See ya!!

Aoi: Take care!

After talking and knowing that my sister is not mad at me. I am now so excited to work.
