Blaise Taylor
I readjusted in my vastly cushioned seat as the plane began it's decent into Russia.
I tightly clenched my eyes shut as I deeply hoped the next months would go by fast and that Aidan would leave me alone for most of them.
As I opened my eyes, I felt the plane suddenly jolt to a stop. The view from the window was dim and then the doors opened, to reveal absolutely nothing.
We had landed in the middle of nowhere that happened to be frozen with minus temperatures.
However, luckily for us, there was a crusty old car parked in an opening, waiting upon our arrival.
Aidan and I both stood in silence, having just left the plane. We both eyed up the car.
"I'm driving." I stated with a threatening tone.
I loved to drive and driving would make my day that little bit better.
Aidan raised an eyebrow at me, questioning what I had just said. He slightly smiled and shook his head, "Like hell you are."
"Is that a challenge Romano?"
He laughed and uttered the first symbol of what I assumed was going to be yes, but I didn't hear the word as I immediately broke out into a sprint towards the car.
I heard the heavy yet rapid footsteps behind me and noticed Aidan was sprinting too.
However, he was too late and I was already in the driver's seat before he had gotten to the car.
He tapped on the car window; annoyance clear on his face.
Choking down a laugh, I winded down the window, allowing for him to speak, "Being in this death trap of a car for ages, to get to further into the middle of nowhere, is awful enough as it is. I'm not putting up with your driving the whole way."
I looked him dead in the eye, my face plastered with a fake grin, "Well too bad, get into the passenger seat. Move fast too, I'm freezing my butt off."
In a fit of frustration, Aidan yanked open the door. I gripped the steering wheel hard enough to turn my knuckles white but Aidan causally plucked me from me seat.
He lifting me into his arms, as if I didn't weigh anything. "What the f**k are you doing?" I angrily screeched.
He didn't look at me and just tossed me into the passenger seat. He sighed as he slide into the driver's seat and buckled my seat belt, as if I was a child.
"I asked you a question Romano."
Ignoring me again, he started the car up. "It's been a long day, I was just solving a problem."
I resisted the urge to speak again as I realised while I could fight him and gain back the privilege of driving, the effort was not worth it.
Soon, I drifted off the sleep to the sound of Aidan tapping the steering wheel to the tune of some Italian song I didn't know.
I was woken by Aidan annoyingly poking my arm alongside him muttering how annoying I was under his breath. My eyes opened upon a small wooden cabin covered in snow. It was small, old and looked cold, but at least it had a rustic charm.
Fucking budget well spent.
There wasn't any internet and we weren't allowed to take our phones, to ensure no one could track either of us. Meaning I was in for a really boring few weeks.
I scampered out of the car, curious to look around. My curiosity lead me to find the cabin had only one bedroom, which contained only one double bed.
A cruel design, made for a to-be-married couple.
Soon, Aidan joined me in finding the bed. He stood behind me with the same look of horror on his face. I tapped his chest, "Thank you so much for offering to take the sofa!"
"I would do that for you, but you see the sofa is calling your name, amore." Aidan sarcastically replied.
{Love}
"I believe you're hearing the sofa wrong; it is in fact whispering your name, Romano." I sarcastically combatted.
Aidan laughed. His laugh was genuine which is easily distinguishable from his fake laugh by the fact, he showed off his dimples when he was being genuine.
I could not help but stare in admiration of his beauty.
"Guess we're both sleeping on the bed." He stated in his naturally husky voice, but a challenge was laced in his tone.
I scowled at his suggestion but competition never phased me, "Guess so."
He looked surprised at my willingness to go along with his off-handed, joke suggestion but his classic smirk, that sparkled with a mischief, was quick to return to his face.
I was happy to quickly shut him down, "Don't get any ideas."
It had been around an hour since we had gotten here, but I could not have accurately said as it felt as though time passed differently in the cabin, which had caused my boredom had reached capacity. There was no mission set for the first night, as agreed upon by everyone before we left for Russia, meaning; I had been passing the time by throwing knives at the nearest tree and gradually freezing to death.
I threw the final knife in my hand into the tree, which completed my pattern of a circle of knives, when Aidan is suddenly appeared behind me. His face screamed power and intimidation, yet his words were of a winey child, "Let's do something, I'm bored."
I threw another knife, directly in the middle of the circle, which rendered Aidan slightly impressed for a second, "Like what?" I utter, unimpressed by his presence.
"I think there is a club an hour away, we could go?" He suggested casually.
I finally turned to look at him, "Clubs aren't my thing anyway, so driving an hour for one is not what I would call fun, but feel free to go by yourself."
He raised an eyebrow, questioning why I had said I didn't like clubs but he never asked why, he then shrugged his shoulders and placed his hands in the pockets of his jeans, "Let's do something together, wouldn't want you to feel lonely, what do you want to do?"
I rolled my eyes and went to pull my knives out of the tree, "I saw a big collection of DVDs in the cabinet under the tv and I brought a few with me, so a movie night doesn't sound terrible."
Aidan nervously scratched the back of his head, "I don't do films."
"What does that even mean?" I stated while screwing up my face, making a face of disgust.
Aidan spoke again still scratching the back of his head, in a more vulnerable manner, "I just don't like them."
I narrowed my eyes, "How can you not love films, everyone loves films."
Aidan suddenly became visibly annoyed, as if I had just stomped all over his vulnerability.
He began storming back to the house, but I was close behind him, "I've just never gotten into them, okay, don't make fun of me." He gritted his childish pleads through his teeth, while still walking away from me.
I laughed. "We are watching a film. We can start with my favourite, that I, luckily for you, brought along with me, 'Goodwill Hunting'."
Now inside the cabin, Aidan turned around and looked at me, "Sounds terrible."
I walked past him and began placing the DVD into the player, "First of all, talk like that again about my baby and we'll have some serious problems and second of all, go pop the popcorn I brought."
Aidan placed his hands up in surrender and stalked off to pop the popcorn as I had requested.
Eventually he came back to the sofa with the large bowl of popcorn, he sat on the opposite end to me, but placed the bowl in the middle, for us both to reach. I started the film and quickly a grin spread across my face.
The film was a quarter of the way through and I couldn't help but look away from the film every so often, to watch Aidan while he stared at the film. He watched the film with a childish wonder, all while shoving handfuls of the popcorn into his mouth, but almost every time he missed his mouth entirely.
Bringing the popcorn to his mouth again, once again he missed his mouth and the popcorn went everywhere, I couldn't stop myself from laughing. He turned to look at me with a curious expression on his face, but with popcorn stuck to his face, he only made me laugh even harder.
He wiped the popcorn off and with a mock serious expression stated, "Hey, can't you see I'm trying to watch a film."
I just grinned at him while he turned back to watch the film.
He was adorable.
I instantly regretted even thinking that, so I pushed the thought away and strained my eyes to watch the film, and the film only.
Aidan Romano
The credits began rolling and I turned to look at Blaise to confirm it was one of the best films I'd ever seen and that we had to watch more of her favourites, but to my disappointment, she had fallen asleep.
While I was tempted to leave her on the sofa and take the bed for myself. I watched her beautiful face peacefully released small snores and I realised that I could not physically allow myself to leave her.
I picked her small body up and gently placed her in the bed that I wished I was sleeping in. I went back to the sofa that was too small to fit the entire length of my whole body on it and tried to get to sleep.
