Elkirah's POV "My child, thou shall awaken. The night has come and darkness shall rule over the world once again for the battle of angels and demons are bigger than ever before." A soothing voice called.   "Child of light, heed my warning. Ye shall find the other half of your soul and be united for us to win the chaos that is about to consume this world."   "Go to the forest in 3 days and wait, for thou shall find him waiting for you."   "In the dark, you shall die and with light, you shall heal."   "Remember to follow the voices, they will lead you to your destiny."   "Run quick my darling baby don’t le---" The voice was interrupted abruptly ending the things it was about to say.   It was a nightmare that woke me up in the middle of the night sweating like crazy. Looking around my room and seeing complete darkness, I searched for my phone frantically as I checked the time, it was 3 in the morning. I closed my eyes shut and groaned.   Promptly laying down again to try and sleep more as my job requires me to always be alert and awake as my patients would complain or worst die (miserably) if I make a mistake.   "If I'm going to dream about something again, let it be a happy one," I muttered to myself before falling asleep.   ---- "Get up, You're going to be late again you lazy bum!" My wolf said to me. "Stop speaking loudly in my head, you can move me when you want to right?" I replied ---- *plop* A pillow was thrown at my damn face.   For the nth time, why does everyone try to disturb my sleep?   "Go away!" I said and turned to the other side of the bed to sleep more.   "It's already 9 AM you fool, we're already late!!" My roommate, Savvy said.   Looking at the clock that hangs above the door to my room. I saw that the time was only 6 AM.   "You shithead, stop waking me up for nothing will you?" I said as I began making my way to the bathroom.   "It's better to be early than never right? I'm so excited for the yearly assessment we're going to have later." She said while fixing her make up.   "For all I know, you're just going to be at the top again because of those deliveries you keep making at breaks," I shouted from the shower room as I began taking my clothes off to start my morning routine. I can just feel her jokingly rolling her eyes at me while looking at the bathroom door. "I'll finish in 30 minutes, you can go ahead and get us some breakfast at the cafe upfront. Thanks!" I called out as I heard her walking towards the mirror.   "Sure, see ya!" She nonchalantly replied.   I can never understand why this girl wakes up so early and make it a mission to disturb my peace every day. Savvy is my best friend, for all I know she's always been with me ever since I was dropped here. She's a nurse now and I am the pack Doctor working at Saint Ildenor's Hospital for werewolves. My patients condition always consist of having broken bones, arms, and sometimes injured wolves because they like to butt heads at training. Boy aren’t they so hotheaded in dealing with their s**t.   I am also part werewolf, but I haven't shifted yet because my blood isn't really pure wolf. I don’t know if I’ll ever shift like the pure ones and I don't have any special abilities except talking to my wolf and the good stuff really just isn't applied to me, IKR it is sad. What I do have is heightened senses and that's just about it I guess. I don't really know.   I haven't met my parents as I was just an abandoned child found in the woods between the borders of the two packs in our area, as cliché as it sounds they even fought over me as I am completely placed in between both their borders (what are the odds right?). I was raised by the pack so I owe it to them to offer my services back.   According to the bloodwork I requested for myself, I'm more human than wolf so I'm here just working for the treatment of their wounds. Mind you, they heal their wounds quickly but a bunch of babies always want to make sure they are really healed before going out and breaking their bones again and again and again. It's a tiring cycle really. Some patients only want to pick up a banging nurse and do god knows what in their own place. Ugh, I hate to even think about hearing those sounds.   Shaking my head as I go out of the bathroom in just my robe, I beelined for the closet as the cold wind brushed up my body making me shiver slightly. Setting up my clothes for the day, I picked a white dress that goes just above my knees which is form-fitting accentuating all my curves in the right places partnering it with my ever so trusty Christian Louboutin black stilettos.   Making my way to my vanity mirror I took a moment to look at myself.   My brushed up black hair is pin straight and my eyes are an icy grey color, I have full and perfect eyebrows as some would even dare call it symmetrical, my nose is cute and has a slight point to it which rests on my small face as my lips were always perfectly pink in its natural state, my complexion was really fair and flawless as some would even call me Snow White. What's weirder is you can spot me a mile away because of how white my skin is.   Shaking myself awake I applied lip balm on my lips and mascara to look presentable.   Picking up my white coat, purse, and wearing my ID: Elkirah Sinclair I made my way downstairs.   I made my way across the street and into the cafe as promised and sat down in front of Savvy.   "Girllll, look who's looking hot today!! That's my girl yow!" She laughed as she tried to imitate the guys when they're trying to hit up girls.   "You can try harder on your impression of the big boys Sav, I'll eat my breakfast in peace thank you very much," I said   Looking at the table and seeing my favorite cinnamon bread paired with my not so hot vanilla drink I could only beam in satisfaction as my face lit up with glee and I grabbed the fork and knife beside the plate to dig in.   "Slow down girl, don't inhale all of it just like that." Sav pointed out. While taking out her phone and taking a picture/video of me, I’m not really sure. Shrugging it off I continued eating--   "Code Red: All available pack fighters, go to the field in 10 minutes. We need a pack Doctor to be on standby as there are injured wolves coming in from the East. There was a fight that ensued on the forest as Rogues were detected crossing our borders." The Alpha ordered us.   "Guess we'll get some bloody action today hun, hop on my back so that we'll get there faster." Sav urgently said, she was also a pack fighter by the way.   "Let me just finish my drink and let's go."   How weird, We haven't had a breach in our lands since I was left in between the borders 23 years ago. I sighed thinking that work will be full of bloody messed up half-shifted wolves caught in between two phases.   --- "Let's watch some field actions wolf." I grumpily muttered --- She didn't answer, I felt that she was quite restless ever since the dream I had this morning happened.   I hope nothing bad will happen,   Putting that thought in the back of my head. We headed to the East side of our land.
