Chapter 2

As we got to the accident site, I looked around and saw many wolves injured with something I can't quite decipher, some are even found dead in the field and some have burns on their fur which looks like it was struck by lightning or corrupted by poison. It was gruesome.

Hopping off the back of Sav, I hurriedly dashed to those that I sensed were still alive. 

"Stay with me," I said to a guy laying down on the ground with massive burn scars on his arms.

He replied with a grunt as he looked like he was having a hard time coping with the pain.

As I reached for the emergency kit that was being held out by an assistant who looked like she was ready to throw up at any moment, I inspected the wound of the person I'm attending to.

There was silver coating his entire arm almost looking like it is angrily about to burst at any moment, 

"What hit you?" I continued asking him in hopes that he'll be able to answer me the information I need to treat his wounds better.

"A big claw from the ground." He replied still having a hard time focusing. I think he is already delusional.

I continued applying first aid as the tools I need were in the hospital, I passed him to the assistant and told her to bring him to the hospital immediately and scan his body.

Moving on to the next person who no longer has both lower extremities I searched for a pulse only to find out that he was already dead.

"Doctor! She's still alive!" someone called out to me as I turned to look at the person he's gesturing at.

I quickly made my way towards her and examined her wounds. She was burned throughout her chest area and there were also silver marks on the affected side. 

"What on earth did this to you?" I asked in hopes of a reply.

"A demon --- from the ground" she bit out as she focused on staying alive.

Injecting her with anti-pain medication, I asked that she be transferred on a stretcher to be confined in the hospital as I looked further. 

Amidst the chaos going around, I saw a glimpse of something in the woods and ran towards it.

"Follow me! I saw something in the woods." Frantically yelling out the words I ran as fast as I could to the site only to find out that no one was following me and the glimmer I saw afar was gone and my wolf was more alert than ever as she took over and pushed me to the side urgently.

"What's wrong?" I asked her

"We'll hide, there's something not right here. I sense great danger to us."

"There's nothing I hear or see here," I replied as there was really nothing here.

"Wait, be quiet. I can't focus." She said while completely shutting me out.

Elkirah's Wolf POV

The danger that lurked and hid behind the trees in this forest, the smell of bloodlust lingered in the air along with the smell of burning flesh and blood that was not of werewolves.

I sensed that someone was watching us and trudged in the direction that I sensed it. Looking at my surroundings and trying to find my way around here. Noticing that the leaves under my shoes were lessening as I saw the revealed message in a clearing written in pools of blood and eyes of a specie I haven't seen before. 

"Daughter of light, thou shall die in darkness" It wrote

Inspecting the eyes that wrote them I picked one of it, immediately burning our hands in the process.

I hissed in pain as this son of a b***h hurt really bad, the skin on our hands turned black and our blood gushed over the eye making it dissipate and going out in thin air. Looking at our hands again I quickly nursed it with my other hand and the light that shone upon our hand that was injured almost blinded my eyes.

I quickly separated our hand and saw that the burn that was in our hands earlier is gone and our hand is healed from what had happened.

Realizing that I healed myself, I quickly closed my hands in case any light ever passes out of it when the Alpha arrives. He's always such a big worry-wart over the things that hurts me ever since before. I sighed thinking about all the lectures she'll hear when he finds out about the weird dream she had earlier. 

"Alpha, please follow me to the woods!" I mind-linked him quickly.

I stood there in confusion as the words were registered in my head. It was quite similar to the one in our dream, opening the link again for Elkirah to see I let her take over us.

Elkirah's POV

When my wolf let me take over for the both of us, it suddenly dawned on me that I was really tired. Like a ton of bricks hit me continuously making me succumb to the level of soreness I felt all over. Looking at what was in front of me and gasping at the sight I saw.

"Elkirah, What are you doing this far out in the woods?" The Alpha asked me as he shifted to human form behind a tree and searched a random stash for a shirt he can wear. He was also with the Beta and some pack fighters. 

"I saw something glimmer in the distance and I followed it, my wolf took over and here I am in front of what we found," I answered darkly.

"I asked the fighters what hurt them earlier as their wounds weren't done by just rogues and they answered that it was a claw and demon from the ground" I continued. 

"I'm doubting if it is real, I'll be able to rule out if they are already delusional later when I re-examine them" I pursed my lips thinking to myself that it was really weird that it's like the continuation of my dream earlier. 

Could I be some sort of psychic? I snickered in my head. 

"That was totally inappropriate, focus on what the Alpha has to say." My wolf butted in 

"Ugh, you don't know how to have fun like me," Mentally rolling my eyes at her I waited for the Alpha's response.

Our Alpha was quite old now, he is already 50 years old. His name is Ray and he doesn't have a successor to fill up his shoes as he haven't found his mate yet. Our pack was never the strongest, but it was the closest thing I had to a real family as the bonds we share with each other was strong. Nevertheless, he was a big papa bear to me as he was the one who helped raise me and he was the only one I had closer to having a real father.

"You look tired, are you feeling okay dear?" He asked

As soon as he said that I looked up at him to approach him when all of a sudden I lost my balance and my vision became blurry. I blacked out.

The last thing I remembered was him reaching for me so that I wouldn't hit my head on the ground and Nada.
