Chapter 6

Two Weeks Later     I sipped my tea as I sat on my porch watching Amelia play in the front yard, it was 5 on a very sunny Thursday afternoon as I waited for Cassidy to get here with her brother Jake. She texted me shortly telling me she was about 15 minutes away.          I hummed as I rubbed my belly, Amienia was riled up today and would not stop moving to save my life. I was 26 weeks today and felt like I was about to explode. This pregnancy seemed way more stressful then when I was pregnant with Amelia even though she was a higher risk pregnancy and born premature.         I ran my fingers through my hair thinking about what has transpired within the last two weeks, my father came around everyday in the morning and called me every night before he went to bed. It was nice to reconnect with my papa, it seemed that I was starting to get closer with everyone in the family but my mother who still refuses to accept that I want nothing from them. My aunt Calissa would be coming in on the 15th because she missed me and Amelia, she called me the night before to inform me that she couldn't wait.          My phone buzzed and I looked to see an unknown number was texting me, it confused me because not many people had my number and I preferred that.      Unknown- Are we ever going to speak about what happen?     Me- who is this?     Unknown- I do believe I asked first     Me- And I still don't know who this is     Unknown- Wild guess.      Me- Nope     I sat down the phone just as a very familiar car pulled into my driveway, I smiled standing as Jackson got out of the car, what I was not expecting was for Sam to step out of the passenger seat. My smile faded as I looked towards the yard to where Amelia played with her toys "Well isn't this a surprise."      My brother grinned as he walked up the three steps to my porch and set down picking up my drink, "Really Jackson?!" He grinned taking a big gulp, I sat back down in my seat as Sam stood looking me over. "You gonna keep staring or sit down?" He blinked and then cleared his throat sitting down, I chewed my bottom lip as I glanced Amelia's way once more. "What brings you guys to my door?"          "Well Sam was just seeing he hasn't seen you in ages, and I agreed that we should stop by and see you." Jackson spoke.     Maybe you shouldn't think to much, I can't stand his guts I thought to myself. I looked towards Sam and my breath caught, he was looking at me, his blonde hair was different then what I remembered, it was shorter, his eyes a mixture of hazel and green that always made me stare like I was never given manners. His form fitting jeans and to tight shirt showing off his muscles. Ugh the golden tan skin that seemed so well maintained. Snap out of it Alisha, your staring and clearly everyone's going to think that its been a while since you've seen a man, god had it been a long time. Since before I found out I was pregnant 23 weeks ago.         I cleared my throat and looked away as my eyes met his and he was smirking, clearly finding humor in the situation. "Well now you've seen me." I blinked at him "That I do." Jackson looked out towards Amelia and smiled "I can't believe I have a niece." I crossed my feet "Well believe it, cause I was more shocked then anyone." He laughed and stood walking down the path towards her, I watched as she greeted him.     Sam cleared his throat and I turned to him and sighed. "What is it?"         He sat forward "What did I do to you?"     I laughed causing my brother to glance over at us as he sat having a tea party "I don't know maybe the tormenting and torture I suffered."     He sighed "You can't be holding a grudge against me for that, we were kids." It wasn't the actual reason why I wanted nothing to do with him, but it was close enough to the truth. "So this is where your going to be living now?" He looked up at my two story home, it wasn't huge but it was big enough for me and my two girls, that's all we needed. It was 4 bedrooms to this house, 5 if you counted the bedroom turned office on the first floor.        "Looks to be that way." I c****d my head at him "So what's new with you Samuel?" His face twitched and the sound of me saying his actual name, I've been calling him by his full name since we were young because it irritated him, and that brought joy to me. "Nothing, my father finally stepped down from the company and now I run it. My parents split for a while and my sister Samantha comes back soon from her travels." I nodded my head, so he's taken over his fathers company isn't that just lovely,      I opened my mouth and closed it as Cassidy's car pulled up and I thanked god. and stood up. she got out of the car grinning "Honey I'm home!" I looked at her realizing she was grabbing bags from the trunk "Mind telling me what's with the bags?"
