Chapter 5

It was the next morning and I was in the kitchen preparing breakfast when I heard the doorbell. I frowned not knowing who would be at my door at 9am. I put down Amelia's plate on her tray and kissed the top of her head as my doorbell rang again, it couldn't be Cassidy as it was a Sunday in which she went to her mothers estate in the next town over. I opened the door to see my father and three brothers "How the hell did you find my house?"        Andrew and Andre pushed past me and walked into the house, I moved to the side "I guess you should come in." I scratched the top of my head and shut the door after they entered. "Nice place you got here sis. Isn't this the old McClaire house?" I nod and show them into the kitchen/dining room where Amelia sat eating her bananas. My father walked over to her and touched the top of her head in which she looked up and grinned "Hi." My papa grinned and looked over at me "She's so precious, how old is she?" I cleared my throat and walked to the kitchen sink "4 and a half." Andre looked up at the ceiling as if thinking and I changed the subject "What brings the four of you around?             "Well you rushed off and we didn't get to properly talk to you." Spoke Andrew.     "It was late and almost pass Amelia's bedtime. Wait how did you find my address" I lied         "Kimberly." Jackson said.        "f*****g neighbors." I mumbled.        Amelia very clearly heard me as she said "tucking." Jackson and Andre found this very amusing. "Don't say that Melia."         She smiled like she was so very proud of herself and I bit into a piece of toast and chewed it. "No mom." My father frowned "Um, well she was needed at the office." I laughed "Dad please lie to someone who's going to believe it." Jackson came into the kitchen and stole a piece of bacon off the plate "Give her some time Ali." I scold "Don't call me that."         "how long are you going to be staying here?" Andrew looked around at the house. "I don't plan on leaving."     "Alisha we have so many questions." I sigh at my fathers words.           "Somethings are just better left unsaid papa, I'm sure in time when I'm ready I'll speak on the matter. For now I'm not ready to bring up the past." I winced at the leg that was pressing on my bladder "Are you ok?" My father rushed to my side as I waved him off with my hand "I'm fine." I took deep breaths trying to balance out the pain and stay calm.     "Well can you give some insight?" He picked up the cup that Amelia dropped and I sat at the table "Very well." Andrew was the first to speak "Where is your husband?" I raised my eyebrow "What makes you think that I have one?"          Andrew looked at my daughter and then at me "Well we would assume because you.." Rolled my eyes and shook my head "No." Amelia rubbed banana down my brothers arm at that moment and I laughed as his face looked very disgusted. I handed him a rag. "Look when I left home I traveled for a while, I lived with some friends that I made in New York. Finished my degree while staying under the radar, stayed with aunt Calissa and then I went to a community college in Georgia while raising Amelia and moving to New jersey where this happened." I pointed at my belly "The father will not and will never be in my presents again if I can help it. It was not a good situation and I just don't want to talk about it anymore."     Jackson folded his arms across his chest "So wait does the baby and Amelia not have the same father?" I sighed.     "No"             My father took a moment to take all of this information in before saying "So my sister knew where you were this whole time." I shook my head. "Not until I actually needed someone." My aunt Calissa was not very close with the family, she actually moved away and never spoke with them again due to the fact that she did like my mother. I don't blame her for that at all, so when I showed up at her door 16,  very Very pregnant and covered in rain she accepted me with open arms and kept me living there a secret. Without a doubt she went to school events, made sure that I continued my education and pushed me to be the woman that I was today. If it wasn't for her I would not have the success that I have and who knows.
