the 16th
Aunt Calissa got out of the car and Amelia saw her and took off running screaming "Lipa." She was met with open arms a super cuddles as my aunt Calissa referred to them. I smiled as she grabbed her bag and walked up to the house "My dear how are you?" She gave me a great big hug and I grinned "I'm glad your here." She kissed my cheek walking up the stairs "Of course dear, I'll never go back on my word to you."
She opened the door and walked in setting her bag on the floor and walking around "I truly love what you've done with the place."
I grinned "I tried."
"That brother of mine ringed me and tried to scream at me for not telling him where you were. I told him f**k you and hung up the phone."
I laughed and Amelia pulled on my pant leg and said "Tv." I turned it on putting it on Disney junior and walked into the kitchen were I grabbed a cup from the rack and poured myself a glass of juice. "Oh that Journey." I nodded "I know but at least you took a plane and did not decide to travel with a toddler while pregnant." She grinned "Motherhood, ain't it fun." I rolled my eyes "From what i'm getting...Sometimes."
This caused my aunt to laugh and look at the time. "Oh goodness, I need to get changed and rest. I'm meeting with an old friend soon." She winked before grabbing her bag and walking up the stairs, I had a feeling this friend was not just a little friend. I checked my dinner in the crockpot, my great-grandmothers famous white chicken chili. I was stirring when my phone dinged, I sighed and looked to see a message from this Unknown again. They have been communicating with me, sometimes it's just to ask me how my day is and other times it's to just to tell me a quote or something positive. I've grown accustom to speaking with them lately, in the mornings it was good morning and at nights it was have a good evening and I hope you sleep well. It was strange because of the fact that I still had no idea who it was and how they know me.
At one point they even told me that I looked beautiful in my pink sundress, and I still did not see the person. The only thing that they told me was to call them L, which was weird because I don't know anyone with the first initial of L.
L- Good afternoon. How was your morning beautiful?
Me- Not to eventful honestly, did not sleep well last night.
L- I'm sorry to hear that, I wish I could help. Someone once told me that Chamomile tea will help with that.
Me- I'll have to try that,. How has your day been going?
L- Seem it's non-stop paperwork, appointments, and phone calls.
Me- Sounds like someone needs a break.
I heard footsteps and set my phone down and went to making like I was busy, and aunt Calissa came in and smiled "Just needed a glass of water." I nodded and started making muffins. I began to get distracted and the day went on fast.
==================================================================================
Later that night finally got Amelia down to bed and was not sitting on the couch, aunt Calissa still had not made it open from her "meetup" I stretched out my legs and started rubbing my belly humming. I had just closed my eyes when my phone rang, I picked it up grumbling about people calling at 10 pm.
I growled "Hello?"
The person cleared my throat and I knew who it was immediately "What is it Samuel?" I bit my lip staring at the ceiling. "Um, well. That is.." He couldn't be serious, was he drunk right now. I could tell by the way he was breathing into the phone and not knowing what to say. He use to do this when we were younger and I would answer the phone. "Spit it out."
"it's nothing I shouldn't have called....Goodnight Ali." He hung up and I rolled my eyes.
Something was truly wrong with this man and I don't know why he acted the way he did sometimes. And I swore I was told that he was with someone. I rubbed my neck as I stared at the tv as wild n out was on. It wasn't long before I drifted to sleep on the couch.
When I woke up again, I was startled by the front door opening and giggles and whisper were happening at the door. I realized that it was my aunt with a guy who totally looked 10 years younger then her. I was not surprised at all by this after living with her for as long as I did. My aunt defiantly was a different kind of woman. I saw her peak her head in but I pretended to sleep.
It was then that I got up and went upstairs to go to bed, but made sure I was sneaking as not to alert my aunt that I saw her and her friend come in and head upstairs.
I stretched on my bed as my phone dinged and I looked over to see that I had a text from a random number.
Random- I just wish you would talk to me like we use to, I missed your friendship.
Me- Who is this?
Random- It's Sam.
Me- What do you want from me?
Sam- I just was hoping that if I ever saw you again you wouldn't hate me still.
I chewed my lip as I looked down at the phone, It wasn't that I hated him. It was for pure fact that I knew I could never cross the line of being friends with someone who is so close to my brother. No matter what I felt or how I wanted to do things, in this small ass town it would not go unnoticed and people would start gossiping and starting rumors.
Sam- Hello?
Me- I just don't think we should hang out, your dealing and doing a lot right now and the way this town is set up. I don't want the drama that comes with being around people including you.
Sam- That's nonsense i've known you all your life and I don't see who would have a problem with us being friends.
Me- I can't risk it, I'm a mother and I refuse to have people speak about me in a negative manner.
Sam- I understand, but it doesn't make it easy. Your right I've been going through things and it's why I reach out. I needed the kind of friend you use to be for me.
Me- In another world and another time possibly. Goodnight Sam...I hope whatever it is that is getting to you clears up and that you find peace.
Sam- Goodnight....Ali.
