Ophelia could feel her heart break in two as a numbness took over the rest of her body. Her best friend was dead.
"please" she cried "Please, please, please come back to me"
Ophelia tried her best to pull open the door but it was wedged closed and she didn't have enough strength to pull it open.
She rushed to the opposite side of the car. she tried to find her phone, or even Sophie's would suffice. She desperately needed to phone for an ambulance.
"I'll get you out Sophie, I promise I won't leave you"
Ophelia looked everywhere she could but failed to find either phone. She was surviving off adrenaline but could feel herself growing more tired. She didn't want to give up for Sophie's sake. She was determined to find a way to save her.
She pleaded that it wasn't actually too late.
Then a bright white flash blinded her causing her to fall to the ground. When she opened her eyes she was no longer next to the crash site.
All she could see was the colour black, she was consumed in complete darkness.
"Sophie!" she called once more
"she's dead" came a sudden voice
Ophelia quickly turned to face the back of a figure. It was as though light shone around him which helped illuminate him.
He turned slowly until Ophelia could see his face. His tall statue intimidated Ophelia who was still sat on the ground helpless.
"No, she can't die... where is she? where am I?" she shouted
"It doesn't matter where you are Ophelia. If you ask the right questions then perhaps I can give you the help you want"
She watched the man in front of her, he only seemed a few years older then her. She had never seen him around which meant she had no idea who he was.
He was a person everyone knew by name, he was the person people feared and he was the person that controlled most evil. In fact, he ravished in all pain.
"What do you want?" Ophelia questioned
"No, the question is what do you want?"
"I want Sophie to live" she answered honestly
"Now we are getting somewhere, I'm willing to make that wish of yours come true. I can save you're little friend"
"How?"
"ah, ah, ah, wrong question again. Ask me what I want in return"
"what do you want in return?" she asked him
"I want you" he answered
He smirked as he watched her squirm in clear discomfort, he was finding humour in the situation she was in.
"You'll be mine, I'll own you. When I need a favour down on earth, you'll be the one I'll call. My little errand girl" he explained
"what do you mean down on earth?"
"time is running out Ophelia, do you want me to save you're friend or not?"
Ophelia stood to her feet now. The man still towered over her even when she was standing.
"who are you?"
"You're wasting time" he told her
"I want to know who you are"
He paused in thought for a moment before answering
"You'll know me as the devil" he smirked
Ophelia let out a nervous laughter before shaking her head.
"This has to be some sort of dream, none of this is real" she called out
She then turned and began to run as fast as she could into the darkness. she felt as though she wasn't going anywhere.
Suddenly she bumped into the hard chest of the man that had brought her to this place. He grabbed onto her forearm to stop her from falling backwards.
"Listen to me Ophelia, this is all as real as it gets. Sophie is dead but you can save her, all you have to do is make a deal with the devil"
"but-"
"There is no but's. We can sort the details out later on" he informed her
"you can really bring her back to life?" Ophelia questioned
She remained close to his chest, his hands holding her arms as she stared up at his face with hope.
Then he clicked his fingers and Sophie's lifeless body appeared at there feet.
"Sophie" she cried as she rushed to kneel down beside her best friends head.
She placed Sophie's head on her lap as she smoothed her hair. She could feel her body becoming colder with every passing second.
"what do I have to do?" Ophelia spoke up
"all you have to do is say yes... then she'll live and you'll be mine"
Ophelia turned her eyes away from Sophie and looked up to the devil.
"yes"
"Then I'll be seeing you again soon, my Ophelia"
The next thing Ophelia knew, was that she was sat beside the wreckage with Sophie's head still resting on her lap.
The large intake of breath coming from Sophie was the only thing Ophelia could focus on. There was air in her lungs and a beat to her heart once again.
