They had told her it was a miracle, they told her that neither of them should be alive. She was told repeatedly that there shouldn't have been time for either of the girls to be thrown out the car and that there must have been an angel watching over them.  However, it wasn't an angel watching over her, but the devil himself.  "oh darling! are you okay?" came the broken voice of Ophelia's mum  She grabbed her daughter and squeezed tightly forgetting that she had wounds which were recently stitched up.  "I'm...ok" Ophelia spoke She was still in shock at the whole ordeal. It wasn't often that her life would flash before her eyes and she would make a deal with the devil to save her best friends life.  "we came as quick as we could, kid" her father spoke  Her parents sat either side of her in the waiting area outside Sophie's room. Ophelia looked through the glass window were Sophie lay asleep in the bed. Her both legs were wrapped in casts since they were broken.  "thank you" Ophelia rushed out just as a tear escaped her eye Suddenly the doors at the end of the corridor burst open and in came running Sophie's parents. Her mother looked a mess with her bright red checks and puffy eyes. The worry that consumed her was clear as daylight.  "where is she?" Sophie's mother asked her husband Ophelia stood from the seat which caught Sophie's parents attention.  Sophie's mother rushed to her quickly and embraced her.  "Oh, Ophelia. what happened?"  "There was something... it came out of nowhere. Then next thing I know we wake up beside the wreck" she tried her best to explain. They all looked to Sophie with sadness.  "she is just sleeping, she broke her both legs but apart from that she's okay" Ophelia went on to explain.  "considering the force of the accident, both girls are extremely lucky" came the nurses voice. she stepped toward them with a smile before offering her name.  "Sophie's parents ? Mr and Mrs Castello?" the nurse asked  "yes, that's correct" Mr Castello spoke up  "perfect, why don't we head in and see you're daughter and I'll talk you through everything" the nurse replied while gesturing for them to enter the room.  "and Ophelia, I think you should go home now. Get some rest and if there are any problems please come back, okay" the nurse told her before entering Sophie's room.  "you heard her, let's go home" her father spoke Ophelia nodded before taking one last look at Sophie, then she led the way in silence to the hospital exit. She kept her eyes closed and fingers clasped together the whole car journey home, she was afraid that if she looked out the window they would somehow crash.  "we're home" her mum smiled  Ophelia didn't hear her because she was somewhere far away in her own mind. "Lia" her mum addressed her using her nickname  "huh" she jumped out her thoughts Ophelia looked towards her house and smiled knowing she made it home safe.  "Let's go inside kid" her father told her  she got out the car and made her way into the house while following her parents. As she looked around the place, she suddenly felt like the world was swallowing her.  "I'm going for a lie down" she told her parents before rushing up stairs.  She closed the door behind her then climbed into bed and pulled the blankets over her. That's when she allowed all the tears to fall.  She wasn't sure how long she led there crying until she was disturbed. "Ophelia" came a voice  At first she thought was hearing things so she ignored it. However when the blanket was removed from her face she was forced to look up to the face that was staring down at her.  "Ignoring me isn't a wise thing to do"  Suddenly realising the situation she jumped to sit up in a panic.  "How did you get in my room?" she asked as she moved further back into the wall creating more space between them.  "The same way I get anywhere, I just appear sweetheart" he smirked  "Then disappear" Ophelia told him  "You're not the one to make demands around here, I can be wherever I want..." he began as he took a step forward "when ever I want..." he spoke slowly while taking another step Ophelia immediately jumped off the bed and ran to the wall which was slightly further away from him. "to do what ever I want" he finished  Suddenly he appeared right in front of Ophelia, she jumped in fright as he vanished then appeared right in front of her face.  His arms were pressed against the wall on each side of her head and he stared down at her with a stern, hard face.  "please, leave me alone" she begged  "No can do, darling. You made a deal with me and I don't allow anyone to break a deal with the devil. You understand me?"  Ophelia closed her eyes as a stray tear escaped and ran slowly down her cheek effortlessly. The devil noticed the single tear and watched it leave her now closed eyes. He watched in slowly fall lower and lower on her cheek until it reached her jaw. Then before it could fall from her face, his thumb slowly wiped it away.  When feeling his touch, Ophelia opened her eyes and looked towards his.  "I'll come back for you Ophelia, and when I do you'll never be rid of me again"  Then just as quick as he appeared, he had left causing Ophelia to stare in bewilderment at the now empty space in front of her.
