Luca   I wanted nothing but to get drunk. Seriously. Yet nothing was hitting me, and the memories of the party which was meant to celebrate my new life as the married man kept coming.  Alice suspected me. She suspected me of knowing exactly who she was. I could see it in her eyes. She may not want to think about it but she suspected. God damn it and god damn Tomas Acosti as well. His outburst had well and truly threw a spanner in the works. Not my father's works. Mine. I wasn’t even sure how I was going to explain to her? How I was going to play dumb if her mum finally came clean in the morning. Alice was a clever girl, she knew me. She would see through any lie I told her. The last remnants of the glass slid down my throat and slammed it on the desk wh more force than I meant to.
