Paladin

On my way to the interview , I bumped into an old lady who did nag me for that , almost stepped on a cat that came out of nowhere, and nearly  forgot my wallet at the café . "taxi!''  I called out to the car there  getting raced up almost ready to go , so I  raced up to it and opened the door to see an old man already inside . He was kinda nice ,in his 80's I guess and said he dint mind me , as I was already getting late so neither did I and got in . ''bagel? just got it fresh from the lofus café down the street ,ain't that bad '' offered the oldie , ''oh no sir, thankyou '' I refused politely . '' so interview huh big day !'' he said to me in a comforting way . ''well yes considering that being jobless  isn't quite friendly with the people here '' he smirked and looked out of the window . As I got off he wished me luck and honestly  I wasn't feeling weird hearing it from a person I dint know cause today it was much needed ! '' so mister …uh ya Zach , Zach treggory , how do you feel , are you nervous ? '' started the interviewer . I nodded , '' good cause I'd be shocked if you weren't ha. so I reviewed your profile and was quite impressed …..'' on went the conversation and I got out by 2 with  my coat hung over my hand and my other hand in the middle of loosening my tie which was strangling me . girls on the street stared at me with  the oh godd face , cause you gotta admit I look hot as hell damn!   I jumped on the sofa in my tees and shorts with a cold soda in my hand  and the controller in the other . I'm a big gamer if you dint know that ! '' Ah did ya miss me boys , mason long time no see man !'' I shouted to my friends online getting my brain gushed up . 'click ' the door  opened , Zoey entered  after going on a date with her boyfriend Xian . He 's Chinese, looks good too . Zoey  and him have been together for 7 months now and she ''loves'' him ! but don't worry I bet that 'll last for  a few months or so ! '' sup nuthead !'' she said , '' hey zoe , how was your date with your 'spicy pork chop'... does he eat cockroaches ? '' I joked . '' gosh Zach you're  22 man grow up ! Xian 's anyways better than you ,you know that right '' '' oh by the way how was your interview ?'' she asked excitedly. '' I think I got it '' I replied confidently . '' oh yea ? great I hope you do !'' she walked up the stairs after that .  I played for quite a few hours and then went to my bed thinking I was done for the day . I laid down and was asleep  before I knew it . shouts everywhere I had my eyes closed  my mom grabbed Zoey  and me by the arm and pulled us out of  the car ,sent us far away and then for some reason went back to the car , no sign of my dad yet and boom ! the car exploded with mom , dad inside it . all left was just a photo of the four of us which dad always had in his wallet . 'huhh ' I woke up covered in sweat . that's how I lost my mom and dad   , since then Zoey and I have lived  by ourselves, just a nightmare anyways  . I checked my phone it was 11:59. I walked  for a couple of minutes and went back to my bed . I checked my phone but it was strange that the time was still 11:59 . suddenly I received a text saying '' TO MAJOR ZACH '' marked as important . I opened it and here's what it said  ;'' Major it seems there is some disturbance in the army as we have seen huge tanks and missiles  from the other side coming up our way . they can't reach us yet but if it continues at this rate we might give the enemy an open chance to increase their winning chances so get your troops ready major .  WE ARE AT WAR!'' . now I was really confused , like I had known that recently we haven't been on the best terms with Russia , all I know that the borders have been sealed but that's all ! Taking it for a prank I looked the time again and it was still 11:59 now this was over the head no way it was still the exact same time because now it had been 20 mins or   so . I thought to myself maybe it was high time and I needed a new phone . Maybe I'll have a look into it tomorrow but lets sleep for now . and I dozed off to sleep again
