"What!?" I asked shocked.
"what are you.. "she cut me off
" yes. Surrogacy, That's the only way now, please. Please Elsa help me"."I know it is not easy but think about it please. Or.... I will loss my love and life. Take your time and think about it. Only you can help me ".
" But Lily it's not "she cut me off again
" I don't know if I could conceive again or not, I and Ian, our future depends on the baby. I don't want to lose Ian. I love him. I can't live without him. If you don't help me, what do I do?" she looked desperate.
"Lily please, you are overthinking. Every thing will be alright" I tried to calm her down.
"No Elsa.I have been thinking about this for a while. It's the only way. You have to help me. Please. Please tell me you'll think about it at once for me"
'I know it's hard for her to go through all these. If surrogacy is the solution then it is but why Me?' before I could word them she continued
"I'll talk to Ian if he agrees you have to help me. You are the only person I could reliance" she looked at me with begging eyes.
"we'll also give you as much as money you want. Please consider this once"
"It's not about money Lily, but the idea um I don't think it is the right choice. You are not thinking straight. But I will think about it only for you" I said stood up ready to leave her apartment.
"Thank you Elsa. I will call you once Ian is home " she said hugging me.
I left her apartment and drove to mine.

'oh God. What is happening' she said to herself.she loves Lily. She is like a sister. But surrogacy is a big step. She thought about it.
'kids'. She love kids. When she married to Vincent, she planned to have one of her own in two year. But with time she knew she will never have one with him.whenever she start a conversation about it he always tried to change to others and eventually she dropped the idea.
Her phone rung. It was Lily she answered the phone "Hello".
"Elsa! Ian agreed to the idea of surrogacy. We're waiting for your reply. We hope till tomorrow you could come with a positive reply. Please don't let us disappoint". "good night" she cut the call.
'Goodnight'?
She thought about it the whole night. She thought about Lily, she is all she has now. She is her only family, her best friend, her sister. She and Ian was there for her when she needed a family the most and they helped her when ever she needed. A baby is all what they wanted in their life to be happy. If she could help with that then it is what she give them in return. She sighs and decided to sleep.
Ian's POV
These few years were very stressful. Lily had to suffer miscarriages and my dad's Will is keeping me away from my position, shares and our marriage. Jacob could do nothing in my favor due to the Will. But I know he is there for me always. The recent loss had made me and lily lose all our hope. Lily was all broken and losing her mind. Elsa and me are doing our best to keep her healthy mentally and physically.
Back from work I saw Lily lost in thought. I sat beside her "Sweetheart. Are you alright? How's your day today? " gave a peck to her cheek.
" hmm. It was okay. How was Yours? " she asked.
" Good".
"What do you think of surrogacy? " she asked me.
"Surrogacy? " "But why you asking me about it now? " I paused for a minute" Don't tell me you are thinking of it" I frowned.
"um. Actually Ian. I'm" she stated.
"What? Are you out of mind Lily? It's not we cannot have babies. It's just that we have to wait for some time" I tried to explain.
"yeah. I know, but what if we fail and...... " she trailed of
I thought of it. Maybe she is right what if we fail again and what if we never have one?
Our happiness, our marriage, our future as well my position in the company all are at stake.She take my hands in hers and told me she already talked to Elsa and she said she'll think about it. After Lily's continuous efforts and pleading I gave in to her idea of Surrogacy.
'It is indeed a good idea if Elsa agrees, as we could have a baby which is Lily's happiness that's much important than anything else without compromising her health. And result our marriage and my rights in company and father's wealth. But I have to convince Jacob for this and don't know what's he going to say.
"But Jacob? Do you believe he would agree to our arrangement? " I spilled my doubts.
" Then we'll keep this a secret from him " she stated.
" Let see what Elsa's decision be".
"I love you " she said happily hugging me tight and pecking my chin . This is the first time I see her happy after the miscarriage. I smiled back "I love you too".. now hoping Elsa will say a 'yes' to her best friend.
Lily's POV
I lost my baby again. I felt numb. Ian and Elsa were trying their best to cheer me up. But how could I? It's my baby- my life - my only hope what I lost. At a point I even thought of ending my life but Ian, I can't leave him. I love him so much. That's why I asked Elsa to be our surrogate mother. I was thinking about it for a while. She was shocked at first. I understand. But I have no other way.
After my continuous pleading she said she will think about it and I know she will agree with me. Now I have to convince Ian. When he came back from work I told him what I was thinking. He was hesitant at first then he agreed with me. I also made him to keep this secret from Jacob as we don't know what his decision be after knowing this. We are not taking any risk.
Now we have to wait for Elsa's decision. It will be a sleepless night for me like the past few days but with different reason.
