Chapter Thirty Two
Tuesday, 13th; Lunchtime
Caroline was due to see her boss Richard at midday so rather than travel home she went directly from the hotel to the office.
She arrived at eleven thirty and decided to give Joe a call while she waited.
“Hello my lovely man. How are you today? Not too tired I hope?”
Joe simply grunted in response.
“Oh what’s the matter Mr Sexy, did we overdo it last night?”
“You are a bad, bad girl,” he muttered.
“Yes I am. Did that sound smug? I think it should have sounded smug. I take it my note met with approval?”
“All I can say is, it’s a good job we don’t have any plans until the weekend.”
Caroline giggled but her pleasure was cut short as Ben appeared at her door.
“I’ll speak to you tonight, OK? Something’s come up.”
