CHAPTER 41
GRUNER TAKES HIS time to walk to the OPS Center. He stops along the way to talk with two airmen and then, when he passes the rec center, he waves to the check-in staff. Once at the OPS, he asks to speak with the commander and gains entry.
The captain levels a stare at Gruner, “What brings you here today, Sergeant?”
“I’m on assignment per General Taylor, sir, working on the assassination case. We need a tactical team in place at the flight line. We believe Robert Sullivan to be a traitor and want him taken into custody. He will arrive there within ten minutes.”
“Why don’t you arrest him on sight?”
“By getting him out of the transportation center and into the open, we stand a better chance of apprehending him alive, sir.”
