“Why do I feel like there was a but?” he took notice of the tone of Jennie’s voice.
“Well, there is…” Jennie pulled away and started sneezing twice in a row before groaning. “...that’s what your scent does to me. It’s annoying.”
Jennie was pinching the bridge of her nose while he chuckled but still apologized. “Oh, sorry.”
“Don’t be…” she waved her hand before informing him about her guess. “I think it's because you're a fallen wolf.”
“So, I’m not a rogue?” he wanted to make sure about it.
Jennie shook her head before clearing it to him. “No, you a turned wolf by the moon but you’re still a fallen hunter.”
“That makes me a fallen wolf if mixing that up.” He summed it up and Jennie smiled.
“Right guess, so what do you want to eat? I’m cooking.” She wondered making Lemar give a toothy grin at her.
“Surprise me,” he said in his amused tone.
At first, Lemar would have no idea how to eat in a wolf form if Jennie Sage hadn’t shown her how dogs eat their meals. Lemar growled as if he was glaring at her but she just arched her left eyebrow as if she was daring him. He whimpered and let his mate win. After they were done with their meal, his messy meal, Lemar was finally able to stand and walk straight without losing balance. Not until somebody knocked on his mate’s cabin’s front door.
He was about to growl when Jennie appeared beside him and smiled. “I’ll deal with it just don’t move on your spot no matter what, do you understand?” he nodded. “Good.” She smiled but then it turned sour since her nose was getting irritated again and groaned. “f**k that scent.” with annoyance she opened the door. “WHAT?!”
“Woah, did you eat something bad?” Welhima asked as soon as she was greeted by their grumpy witch sister.
Jennie rolled her eyes as she pinched her nose again. “Nothing, I just cook but something annoys my nostrils.”
“Hayfever,” Mikyle smirked as they both entered her cabin.
“Perhaps.” Jennie groaned grumpily while her siblings chuckled. She glared at them before asking. “Anyway, what made you drop personally?”
“Spill it out, Sissy. Your amulet was glowing and shaking even more now that we’re here.” Mikyle went to the point as he showed the amulet that she made for him.
“Oh f**k. I forgot about that.” she sighed as she locked the door that automatically activated her powerful protection barrier throughout her entire cabin.
“So, you indeed hiding something.” Welhima teased while wiggling her eyebrows at her.
“I just told you. So, don’t tell, Dad.” She sighed in defeat and sat on the couch beside her invincible wolf mate. “Not at least yet.”
“So, are you hiding a man here?” her elder sister tried to guess.
“Well, see for yourself.” Jennie could not answer that instead she waved her hand and called for her mate’s name. “Lemar.”
Then Lemar’s huge wolf form showed up beside Jennie and automatically her siblings almost lost their minds when he showed up. They both jumped from their seats and went behind the couch growling defensively since they were frightened. To them, Lemar was emitting an alpha aura that he didn’t know about.
“Sissy, ahm…what is he?” Mikyle asked carefully since Lemar’s wolf side was intimidating for them. “I mean we could see that he’s a wolf but does he belong to any pack?”
“No, he doesn’t and he wasn’t a rogue,” Jennie answered what she could only answer.
“We can smell that but there’s a faint smell of being fallen, am I right or am I just smelling it wrong?” Welhima guessed doubtfully after she sniffed the air around the living space.
“No, you’re not wrong. He’s a fallen wolf,” she answered.
“Is that even possible?” he wondered before glancing at Lemar who just growled until Jennie sneezed before glaring at him. Lemar looked away to prevent some arguments.
“He’s moon chosen,” Jennie answered before hoping they swear not to tell to their father. “So, please don’t tell Dad, for now. We have no idea what forced him to shift into a wolf.”
“He was cursed?” Mikyle was still studying him.
“i***t, she just said moon chosen one, it means he’ll do something in the future.” Welhima elbowed his side before wondering. “But why in our pack?”
Jennie sighed since she had no idea about that part as well. “That’s the thing I want to find out. So, can I have your word on that?”
“You can but the sooner you informed him, much better.” Welhima smiled assuringly at her.
“I know but until we figure it out, please, zip it.” She still hoped and her siblings understood her.
“We will,” Mikyle said and wondered since he was twice the size of any alpha wolf that they knew. “But can he reduce his size? He’s much bigger than our Dad’s.”
“Well, what do you expect from a Moon Chosen one?” Welhima shrugged her shoulders at that fact. Nobody can tell the reason why the Moon's chosen ones emit uniqueness.
“True, but are you mates?” he changed the subject and directly asked Jennie.
“What do you think?” Jennie sighed as she pinched her nose again.
“From the likes of it, you two were since he’s well-behaved around an unacquainted wolf of the pack.” Welhima noticed.
“Well, you can say that.” She sighed and admitted but still wondering. “But seriously, you won’t be prying personally if nothing is bothering you around the pack.”
“Well, you heard the burned hunters that Catalina found last night, right?” he started the real intention of their sudden and personal visit.
“Yeah, had any update about their health?” she worriedly asked and the sibling smiled at her caring side.
“They were good and your ointment was making them feel better. But the situation around the hunter guilds around here was a piece of bad news,” he assured her but he went serious about the rest of the information they’ve got.
“How bad?” she wondered.
Welhima seriously answered as Lemar started growling. “Well, it could cause war between us and the hunters.”
Jennie gently pets Lemar’s head before resting on her lap. “If that was the case, somebody within the hunters looking forward to it.”
“Yeah, some hunters betrayed their family which I thought they were intact like ours.” Mikyle agreed to her sister’s guess while Lemar was controlling his anger with Jennie’s gentle touch.
“Hey, we are nothing like that.” Welhima defended their kind.
“What I am saying is that they don’t care about our kind unless we seek for their help or they were sent to check things around us.” Mikyle cleared what he was trying to say. “But it didn’t occur to me that whatever was happening around the humans was also happening around here.”
“Enough of that. Let’s discuss it tomorrow with Dad.” Jennie cut their conversation short since Lemar was not stopping from radiating heat - he was angry. “I’ll know some things tomorrow with the hunters as soon as I visit them again.”
“That’s nice. I bet Dad will be surprised by our updates.” Mikyle chuckled.
“He’s getting old.” Welhima rolled her eyes to what she said and went to the door.
“Be safe.” Jennie smiled at them.
“Same goes with you and your wolf.” the siblings said and they both jogged back to the mansion.
“Calm down, Lemar.” Jennie calmed Lemar as soon as her siblings left them alone in her cabin again. “You won’t be able to shift back to your human form if you keep your anger bursting like that.”
Lemar was just growling but his mind was giving too much fast moving images that disturbed Jennie Sage’s thoughts. Her nose began to bleed and she even started coughing blood then she started to get dizzy.
“LEMAR!” Jennie shouted before coughing intensively. “Calmed your thoughts.” She touched Lemar’s snout where Lemar strongly smelled her scent. “It’s killing me.”
Lemar quickly snapped from his intense thoughts. “Sorry, Sage…” He whined as he apologized and quickly licked her mate’s face. “...I didn’t mean to…”
“Can you tell me what triggers?” she wondered what made him lose control.
“Betrayal of our own…” Lemar answered before apologizing again. “Sorry…”
“Don’t worry about it.” Jennie waved it off since it was not her first time. “I’ve been like this a couple of times whenever I get overwhelmed by something or a situation or I’m linked over someone’s mind for too long.”
“Can you stop it then?” He worriedly asked.
Jennie shook her head but she smiled, “We’re mates, it can’t be stopped.” before snapping her fingertips and then she was fully alright again.
“I better get used to your magic.” He chuckled but Jennie sternly looked at him before sneezing twice in a row before pushing him away.
“Gosh, I hate it when your scent kicks my nostrils in a bad way.” she groaned as she stomped her feet toward her bedroom.
Lemar chuckled. “Can I sleep with you?”
“Sleep there, stupid wolf.” She groaned as she was indeed annoyed over Lemar’s scent and it was an amusing sight for Lemar.
As the night took over their lives, the following day, Jennie woke up from some clattering noises around her cabin. She managed to ignore the noise and continued to sleep as if it was nothing but there were some curses alongside the cluttering. It caused her to jolted up from her bed.
“Seriously, I’m gonna kill whoever interrupts my sleep.” Jennie didn’t like to be disturbed in her sleep since it was the only thing that could make her rest. But not for now since Lemar making another mess around her cabin. “LEMAR! WHAT’S WITH THE NOISE?” But technically, Jennie Sage was being welcomed by another figure in her cabin, a man she didn’t recall who. “WHO THE f**k ARE YOU?!”
“Oh, sorry.” Lemar turned to face Jennie whose eyes went wide by seeing a full naked man in her cabin.
“p*****t!” Jennie quickly began using her magic by throwing anything around the cabin.
Lemar quickly dodged everything that was shooting him. “I AM NOT!”
“WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU NAKED THEN?!” Jennie might not be looking anymore but she was still mad. “ARE YOU POSING YOUR GLORY IN THE MORNING?”
“I’M SORRY.” Lemar apologized as he still dodged anything that Jennie threw at him. “SAGE, PLEASE, HEAR ME OUT.”
“YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CALL ME BY MY SECOND NAME, YOU ASSHOLE.” She was still furious.
“HEY, I’M NOT AN ASSHOLE.” Lemar defended himself as he caught those books and vases that were being thrown at him. “SAGE, PLEASE, LISTEN.” he was pleading. “JENNIE SAGE, LISTEN, I JUST WOKE UP LIKE THIS.”
