It feels like winter, Snow White thought to herself, it reminds her of her home. See, the Scheewhitten Kingdom was not only known for their beauty but the pure white snow, early winter as the month of August approached in time to replace the short period of time, the orange leaves fall down time came early this year. Then again, it's possible that they are near in the Forest, time and logic does not apply normally as one that conforms in the normal world they live in.
Peaceful, truly she gives her opinion no matter how hauntingly serene the Forest with the gray fogs she cannot see passed a few feet away, what more if a yard was to be measured?
"Pardon me, truly, Princess but devouring them?'" for the umpteenth time, Hunter finds himself difficult to swallow whole, the logic on which the Princess says. The lines on his forehead says it all, an hour later his brows will completely fall off above his eyes if he keeps his furrowed confusion.
If it were not for her Huntsman's chatty mouth over and over again spilling what she has already answered time and time again, their travels would've been such an annoyance.
"You eat them of course, how else can you consume them whole? By blood?" Snow White perks up in attention over her own words, she lightens up the longer she delve from the notion itself. Drinking the Monster's blood seems easy enough, very convenient too! Her eyes lightened as her thoughts progressed, a child jumping up and down upon receiving a present, "What an interesting way... yes, yes a welcoming idea indeed.." she trailed off to herself, the words all for him to hear, disturbingly well.
"Blood... what about the blood?"
Hunter grew emotionally concerned, his stomach coiled, he swear he can feels his intestines coiled around his insides on how the Princess, raised in glamorous luxury with everything given to her without lifting a hand. Goodness, a chill run down his spine. What happened to her during the reign of the Wicked Queen's three years in her throne to escalate this level of absurdity. Now, there's no such thing as a misunderstanding but he is not really for one to be highly disturbed over the aspect of eating a flesh raw. A Monster. A Monster, he repeats! Heavens knows what kind of curse will throw at the Princess.
Coming from her words alone she conveys smoothly, he honestly does not know what to take from this. Was it admiration, a wrinkle of disgust over his face. One thing he was certain for.
This woman, what a different, brave and strong woman. Hunter loves those kind of woman but not... not someone who can openly expressed her desires on consuming the flesh of a Monster.
"It is easy to drink the blood but the book explicitly states to eat the flesh." a sigh escaped her lips, a frown soon covers her lips. "What a disappointment."
"Well, my Princess, neither them appeals to me. I do not see why you seem so, how do I say this?" Hunter mutters under his breath, looking up above the skies expecting an answer to receive. "Unladylike of you."
"Was it truly a gentlemanly of you to speak such perverted words from me earlier?" she quirks a brow, emphasizing his errors earlier. "I do not see how it is not a hypocrisy in nature."
As soon her words bombarded his ears, he was left dumbfounded then a basin filled of shame and embarrassment washed over her. He was just playing the part of a villain to make everything believable until a spy left to report to the Queen that his intentions were true and fair. He swallowed his pride, composing himself he bowed low, stopping Snow in her tracks.
"There is no excuse, I apologized deeply from the way how I foolishly acted. I meant it as an act in order to feel everyone that I have the full intentions on taking your life away. However, as I have said just now, there is no excuse for my actions."
Silence engulfed the area apart from the birds celebrating the end of the stormy rains showered a while ago. They sang their praises, their songs of chirping joy and for a moment she finds herself strangely in solace with the place. The Forest. The sun creeps in through the confines of the clouds, radiantly showed his full glory towards the high trees, then to the ground where they stood and her mind almost slipped the memory why her servant's head bowed low.
The Forest beckons her and she does not know why.
"The Forest beckons me, Huntsman." Snow mention the fact, a small curtain of what her mind consisted off, her eyes surveyed the entirety of the place. Melancholy, her heart ached seeking a tent for comfort, alone but she does not why. Snow felt in a certain way, perhaps she knows but unwilling to admit the painful truth. Of course, a shaky sigh left her lips once again,"The birds used to sing for me, once upon a time there were Seven Dwarfs, and the Fairest of them all yet there is no such thing as a Huntsman who served her."
His eyes peered from the ground. Their gaze immediately caught in a trap once he felt a temperature dropped. It chills him to the bone.
What was she talking about?
"Pray that you will never die, Hunter. You died once and I cannot bear to lose someone because of me."
Hunter saw it as a possible opportunity to peer in, realization struck him when his curiosity causes him to raise a head without her order, but even that inkling of a mistake did not faze Snow. Her gaze stared straight towards his soul yet her mind strayed far way from where they stood their ground. She looked so heartbroken, a moment of weakness unlike her anguished tears that spit flames of roaring fire. No, no that wasn't, the description that her hope was dashed to a rock ruthlessly, then dragged to her sorrows, forcing her on her knees in all fours. He stared up at the Princess he swore to protect.
For several moments she spoke up, in a soft voice.
"Answer me if you do understand the weight of my words spoken, for I will not repeat myself time and time again."
He sees a young woman before him, a Princess without a Kingdom, those were the kind of relevance, of semblance that was ripped from her hands, his eyes glossed with pity. The mind speaks volume to not give her any worth of sympathy, this was not the time. The heart tells him otherwise.
She gave him a choice, although in clear hindsight the answer was as clear as the clean waters of the Scheewhitten Kingdom. Obedience was one considered but loyalty another aspect they both shared. Hunter sensed, an intuition of sorts, her strong character never melts away in the hot pressure life has to throw in and for the first time in a very long time, the Huntsman was put in a situation he could not run away.
Death is inevitable, surely she must know this.
"Yes, your Royal Highness."
In the end, he hardly could not say no towards the the Princess of the Schneewhitten Kingdom.
