After telling Jessie everything, I felt like a weight was taken off my shoulders. Especially because the entire time I was talking she never once judged me or tried to interrupt me. Nor did she argue any of the things I said.
I think hearing things from my perspective was good for both of us, really. I got to get it off my chest and she got to see that we were both victims in all of this.
“So, I guess we both have a lot to make Carl Cromwell answer for, huh?” She said in an understanding voice. “Yeah, we do. And we will.” I said with conviction. And I meant it. No way in h*ll Carl was getting away with everything he'd done. I intend to make sure of that.
