Chapter 6

1033 Words
Charle's POV Mayumi was discharged today. She's better now. She just had a minor injury but she will be okay. Kanina pa kaming dalawa rito sa bahay and she's not talking to me at all. The guy from the hospital also went here earlier. Ayaw niya akong kausapin? Then fine. I don't even care. It's much more peaceful anyway. I feel so at home without her talking. "Kain na." Pag-aya niya sa akin as she pointed to the meal she had just cooked and prepared. "I don't eat with others." "Mauna ka kumain. Mamaya na ako." Yumi answered and went inside the other room. She even slammed the door to make me feel she was mad. Tsk. I already know she is. Tumayo ako at lumapit sa dining area. I eat as fast as I can so she can eat. She still needs to heal. I'm not a terrible person. Masarap din kasi ang pagkakaluto niya, so I can't help but to devour. I knocked on her door when I finished eating. She then eats. I don't want her to do it and I don't know how to do it. I went back to watching TV pero maya-maya ay pasimple kong sinisilip kung maayos lang ba siya. Nang makita ni Yumi na dumating si Jolo ay tumayo siya at lumapit to greet him even when she's still eating. "Hello po. Kain po kayo." Pag-aaya niya kay Jolo. "No, ma'am. I'm okay. I'm here to wash the dishes." "Huh?" Napakunot ang noo ni Yumi. "I'll be washing all your dishes and do some cleaning a little bit here too. Mr. Charles called me." "What?" Tanong ko. I'm already doing her a favor. "You really love causing inconvenience to other people huh." "I pay people." I help them. "Kahit na. Kapag kaya mo namang gawin ay gawin mo na. Nanggaling pa sa malayo 'to at kaya ko namang maghugas ng pinggan." Look at her complaining instead of thanking me. She should smile at me at least. "But I want Jolo to do it." "You're evil." "You're not an angel either." "At least I'm not the first on the list of people like you." "People like me?" "Don't worry about me, ma'am. It's okay." Jolo awkwardly smiled in between our fight. "No. It's not. Huwag mo na rin akong tawaging ma'am. Yumi nalang. Sa inyo rin naman ako nagtatrabaho." "Okay, Yumi." Mayumi smiled at Jolo. "Umupo ka nalang diyan. Watch TV." "No, I can't do that, um, Yumi. You just got into an accident." "I'm okay now." "Not fully yet." Pagsingit ko. "We're not talking to you." "Just saying." Naiinis kong sagot. "Oh, Yumi. We also finally got the one who caused the accident." Jolo said. "How?" "Thanks to Mr. Charles, he called me immediately after what happened, so we could easily catch the driver. Time is important." "Why do you say that?" "Well..." Yumi paused like she was thinking deeply. "It's okay if you don't want to answer that." Jolo said. "We were on a car accident twelve years ago. I think I was six years old at that time. My family, the three of us were going to the mall to eat out for dinner nung may humarang bigla na truck sa daan. Maybe my dad panicked. Hindi ko rin alam. Basta paggising ko nalang mag-isa nalang akong buhay." Yumi smiled bitterly. "I'm sorry to hear that Yumi." Jolo said. I couldn't say anything. I don't want to because I might just remember a bad memory. I'm also not good at this kind of conversation. "Hey, that guy, I think he's your friend." Pag-iiba ko ng usapan. "Who?" "I don't know his name, but the one who was with you when you were in the hospital." "Ah, si Renzo. Anong meron?" "Does he not know me?" "He does. Why?" "He said he doesn't know me and even threatened to call the police on me if I did not leave." That s**t. "Renzo doesn't like you. That's why." "f**k him. I don't like him either." "Hey, he got reasons not to like you. You caused me this." Yumi pointed to her injury and I felt bad again. "Also, he's nice. Hindi tulad mo." "Lying is not good, Yumi. I don't even care if he's nicer. I'm way better than him in many other concepts anyway." "You don't even have a concept." "Hey, what do you mean by that?" "Sa akin nalang yun. Atsaka bakit mo ba palaging tinatanong kung kilala ka ng kung sino o hindi?" "Because they should." It's kind of like a survey. I need it. If they don't know me, then I should do better. That's what I've always thought since I got into this industry. I have always needed that validation. "Please call me once you're done eating." Jolo said to Yumi then sat beside me. "You'll do me a better favor Jolo kapag umupo ka lang katabi 'yung masungit mong amo. Bantayan mo na muna yung alaga mo." Jolo looked like he was asking what he should do and I just nodded and gave him a look to let her be. I can't handle stress right now. I have an upcoming photoshoot next week. I'm also sure that she's going to be tired after doing some work. I'll just let Jolo handle the rest once she falls asleep. I have never met a girl who can be this stubborn in my entire life, but I guess it's kind of nice to have this noise sometimes. Silence used to kill me when I was home alone.
