Cresent Moons Arrival

To get my mind off of Cresent Moon, I started thinking about the mating ball and wondered if I would find my mate. I went into my desk drawer to find another letter, "When you find your mate", written again in my mother's handwriting. I can't wait to read it and see what she can tell me. I wanted to have her do my hair and makeup and help me put on my dress. I still have my father, but it's different with him.

He made up for what he could. We made plenty of lasting memories and so much more, but I could tell he missed my mother dearly. It doesn't help that I look just like her. The older I got, I noticed the similarities between us, and it was hard to deny me being her daughter. I have mid-back length brunette hair. With ocean blue eyes that I got from her.

My mother knew I was special. She always told me I was. Sounds lame when I think about it. But after her death on my 11th birthday, my wolf came to me. She told me I was special, and the moon goddess wanted me to get big and strong, so she granted me my wolf super early. But the one stipulation I had was I couldn't tell anyone. If people figured it out, it's okay, but I was not to confirm or deny whether I had her. Her name is Ash. She was my person to talk to, but she helped me through the pain of losing my mother.

My father figured out that I had her about a month afterwards. He sat me down and told me it would be okay. I told him I couldn't, and he told me the moon goddess always knows what's true and what isn't. So I told him yes I do. He looked shocked and puzzled but all he told me was that he could, and she's powerful and an alpha wolf. He had given me a hug and told me it was my secret to share, not his, and promised not to say anything about it. He also told me that if I ever needed to talk about Ash he would help me.

Soon after that, he asked if I wanted to train. In our pack, any child above the age of 15 had no choice whether or not to train. I went into a children's class for my age group and I trained day in and out. I was finally ready to advance my training. I got put into the 16-year class at just 14.

I was good at fighting, but when my 16th birthday came around, I started my first shift. I called my father and he came running. He took me to our family cabin, which has been sitting empty since my mother passed away. When we entered it her scent was still there, just stale.

Just as we got inside, I screamed out in pain from it ripping through my body. I was crying, and my father kept telling me to breathe. It would be okay. I tried my best as I screamed more. Just then, Leo and Beth ran in, and she got down to my side and put a cold rag on my forehead. She's talking to my father, but I can't tell what she's saying. But she's done this with people all throughout the kingdom, and I've never seen her upset.

Just then, I got super hot and fast. I stood up and stripped my clothes off in front of everyone. I didn't care. After what seemed like forever, my bones started to shift and break. I was screaming in agony, but soon all the pain was gone. It was like I was floating on a cloud.

When I opened my eyes, I was with shocked faces. I just turned my head to the side and then finally I saw my reflection. Ash was stunning. She had amber eyes like my father's Wolf Rex. And a blue-gray coat with some light silver going through it all. I couldn't believe my eyes, it couldn't be.

A sharp knock sounded from the door, and it brought me out of my thoughts. I didn't have to look up to find out Leo was standing in the doorway.

"Princess, there you are. We've been trying to get hold of you. Cresent Moon crossed pack lines 10 minutes ago," Leo said almost breathlessly.

"Oh right! I'm sorry Leo, let's go." I said while standing up and cleaning a bit of my desk. Then I walked to meet him. "Leo?" I asked him lowly while I stood back for a second. I met his eyes and he gave me a small smile as to say go ahead.

"Is my father waiting already? Also, are they okay right now?" Alpha Simon and my father always had a strained partnership. I never knew why. My father never talked about it.

He sighed heavily. He knows more than I did, but it was never talked about. "He is. As far as I know, they're on good terms." I just nodded and walked out the door to the front of the pack house.

We got to the front of the pack house and I saw my father standing and waiting for them to pull up any moment. "Father." I called to him as I was walking to him.

"Darling. Better late than never, as your mother always said." He says with a chuckle and a smile.

"Sorry, I lost track of time and I had my block up." I told him sincerely.

He kissed my temple and pulled me close and whispered, "that's okay honey, I understand. When we work, time isn't a thing." I just nodded, smiled and leaned in closer to that outdoor and woodsy smell.

The SUV's were pulling up as we pulled apart. My father stood with his hands behind his back and me with my hands nicely folded in front of me.

They stopped, and Alpha Simon stepped out with his Beta Jeff and Gamma Kevin. I heard the stories of all of them. Out of the other two SUV's, five men and five women came out along with their own 'guards'. I started to scoff as one male caught my eye and had Ash on her toes. As he came around the back of the SUV I saw a busted lip and a shadow of a black eye, like he had got into a fight.

Other than those things, he was quite handsome. He had disheveled brown hair with light brown eyes that has speckles of green in them. He seems about 6'4, about as tall as my father. I stand about 6 foot unlike my mother who was 5'10.

As they walked they kept their heads down in respect for royalty. He looked up for just a split second and we locked eyes. We shared a moment before a slap landed on the back of his head. It made my blood boil upon seeing this. I understand respect but what is his problem? He gave a sneer and a low growl ment for me personally. He looked back down at his feet and stayed like that.

It felt like something was happening inside of me. It was like all my power and authority was put in a box in the deepest parts of my soul. Ash wasn't any help either. She was quiet and gone. What is going on with my wolf.

I looked back at Leo with a worried look, and he gestured to speak if needed, but I let a small smile form and held my hand at waist height, letting him know it was okay to just stand guard. Something was happening and it scared me.

What is going on with my body? I felt good when I saw this man, but then every power and Ash was taken but why? Am I really a special wolf or is it a fairy tale? I'm not sure but I do know I don't like the look of that guard.

Out of the shock of all my power being drained, I grabbed my father's hand. He looked at me with worry. "Ada honey? Are you okay? You never grab my hand?" He asked me through mind link. "Father, I'm okay. But we do need to talk, something is wrong with Ash." I told him sadly. I saw the look on his face, he was shocked and worried at the same time. He just nodded as he squeezed my hand and let go.

"Alpha Simon. Welcome to the palace! Please let us take you to your rooms." My father said with a forced smile. He raised his hand for the omegas to come and gather the luggage. The one guard that sneered at me was looking at all the omegas with lust-filled eyes. It was creepy and really off-putting.

"Pleasure is all ours, your highness. We appreciate the invitation and arrangements you've made for us." He says with a s**t eating grin.

"Alpha Derek, there is also a matter I would like to discuss with you, privately." He says, then clears his throat and looks at my father with seriousness written all over his face.

"Of course, Alpha." He smiled widely. "Leo my beta will gladly show you where my office is." He said while leading his hand away.

As soon as they were out of ear shot my father spoke, "Adaline, dear what is going on with you?" He asked concerned.

I looked at him and sighed heavily. "I don't know exactly. All I know is I no longer feel Ash like I did before. Then they came and all my aura is gone. All of it father. What do I do?" I asked with my head in my hands.

"Okay, listen," he said as he sighed and rubbed my arms in a way to calm me down. "We will figure why all of this is happening. But first we need to see what Alpha Simon wants. Okay?" He said with a small smile.

I nodded to him and gave him a side hug. "Father what do you think this could be?" I asked him as we walked through the pack house.

"Adaline, dear we will worry about that later come now, Alpha Simon awaits us." He said with another smile and a kiss to my temple.
