A Warning

Eleanor Gosh! He was so f*****g annoying! I had been one second away from lunging across the room and wiping that smirk off his face, together with those lips of his that were extremely distracting. “You look flustered.” Ava noticed. “I don’t think Mrs Warwick said anything remotely annoying to put you in such a foul mood.” We were currently making our way back to the outer halls because she needed to use the bathroom and also touch up her makeup. I tried to fix my face, but failed miserably. “I just saw someone in there that gets on my last nerves.” I went for half the truth hoping she wasn’t going to pry further. “And let me guess, this someone is a boy.” her tone was flat. Bored even. Oh he was not a boy Ava. He was very much a man_ I stopped my train of thought with a loud groan of frustration. “Can we not talk about it?” I begged, allowing her to link our arms together. I didn’t want to mention Ezra’s name. She shudder dramatically . “Okay my precious Luna roommate.” she agreed. “But I’ll ask later.” I was quickly coming to the realization that Ava was not one to pry. At least not when she could read the room. “I_” Whatever I wanted to say was cut short by the sight of familiar brown hair, sleeked back in a way that made him appear every bit as cruel as I had now found him out to be. Zach. And he was leaning on the wall opposite the bathroom door. Next to him, was a blonde I hadn't seen since she tantrumed her way out of our room, and another blonde who didn’t look familiar, but felt familiar. I had the tingling feeling at the back of my mind, that that was who I thought it was. Laurel. Ava who had been walking at a fast pace, cursed and slowed down. “Jeez... the Havermoth do look alike up close.” “What?” I echoed as we neared the three who were caught up in whatever it was they were talking and laughing about. “Who are the Havensons?” Ava made a sound. “Jasmine Havermoth, whom you have had the pleasure of meeting, and her older half-sister, Laurel Havermoth. Laurel is Moonlight’s princess, with a track record of winning.” Great. Just great. As if feeling my presence, Zach looked up, his eyes catching mine. At first there was a shocked expression on his face at seeing me, which then morphed into a hard look. Hurt, anger, then disdain surged inside of me, but I looked away, intent on not giving him the satisfaction of seeing me react. It had been a week, but I was sure my rejection made him turn in his bed at night. No one knew we were mates in the school, and I knew it would do him more good to not mention it. Laurel laughed at something her sister said, then after placing a kiss on Zach’s lips, pulled Jasmine into the bathroom. Ava gagged next to me, then headed into the bathroom, muttering something under her breath. I was about walking in after her, when a hand clasped itself around my arm and pulled me back, and then with another hand, pulled the bathroom door shut. “Let me go, you f*****g, prick!” I hissed as Zach dragged me into another room, two doors away, which I recognized as a storage. “What the f**k are you doing here, El?” he sneered at me, running a palm down his already sleek hair. I gave him a confused glare. “I was about to use the bathroom when you pulled me in here, remember?” I started for the door but he blocked my exit. “You know what I’m asking, Eleanor Graveson! Why are you in my school? There are tens of other schools your rich alpha guardian could have happily paid for, why this one?” He looked and sounded frustrated. “Are you f*****g stalking me?” I gaped at him. The more I encountered him, the more I wondered what the moon goddess had been thinking. I hated the fact that his words were jaringly similar to what Ezra had said to me that night. What was it with these Alpha males and deciding for me. “Oh so they wrote your name on the gates and towers of this school, and also wrote that you decide who comes here and who doesn’t?” I retorted, my hands itching wildly. "Get a f*****g grip, Zachary. The world does not revolve around you." The fact that he had been the main reason I had actually applied made me burn in anger at myself. If I wanted to tear Ezra’s lips earlier, I certainly wanted to destroy the face in front of me. Zach’s eyes flared and he stalked closer to me. “You rejected me. Remember? All I asked was that you let me have a chosen mate, and you still remain my fated mate. But you rejected me!” Oh it felt so good to see him pained. Although I knew it was mostly because I beat him to it. “I loved you, El. I did love you.” The laugh that escaped my lips was loud, and I feared for a moment that anyone walking outside could hear. “You should listen to yourself when you are alone, Zach. It’s not easy to detect your own stupidity in the presence of others, but I’m sure within the four walls of your bedroom, the alpha voice in your head would call you to order.” I stalked closer to him, my face turned upwards. “I rejected you, Zach. And I will do it all over again, and again, if I have to.” I smirked when his wolf surged underneath his green eyes. “As for me being in this school, deal with it. I’m here to learn, just like everyone here. ” The look on his face was comical and he took a step back when I moved even closer. “Now, do not ever, pull me away or think you can try to speak to me again like this. I was kind today, I won’t be next time.” I made sure to jab my fingers in his chest. I wasn’t sure if it was boldness or just plain recklessness, considering Zach was an Alpha, but I was done with him. I was done with men in general thinking they could do whatever they like with me. Zach’s nostrils were flared in anger by the time I was done, and despite looking like he was ready to explode, there was something else in his gaze. Guilt? “Well, stay out of my way then.” his tone was way lower than earlier. “No, you stay out of mine.” I hissed and pushed passed him, pulling open the door and almost running into Ava who was just coming out of the bathroom. “Hey, I was looking all over for you. Thought you went back to the room.” she said, adjusting her jacket. I linked my hands with hers and steered her away. “I was just exploring.” I lied.
