Chapter 27For some reason, Alex freaked out when Gloria opened the trunk. He went a little crazy, grunting and thrashing and twisting, though his movements were restricted by the zip ties binding his wrists.
According to Gloria and Sutra, he'd come willingly. They said he'd spotted them near his house, sneaked out and surprised them...then begged them to get him out of there because he thought he was in danger. Luckily, Nil approved the unplanned pickup, and Alex liked what he heard when Gloria offered to take him to meet the group.
It was also lucky that Gloria had a hood left over from carting Charlie around, plus a few stray zip ties she kept for emergencies. Alex had agreed to wear them, had also agreed to ride in the trunk...so why the freakout all of a sudden?
