Chapter Two

1378 Words
Rose was driving with so much speed, her mind was completely off the fact that she was the one on the steering wheel. She was completely lost in her thoughts, when she felt a loud bang from her car, jerking her back. She looked ahead and realized that she had just bumped into someone’s car. “Not today Rose. Not today,” she said to herself banging her head on the steering wheel. She pulled the brakes and unbuckled her seatbelt and took a deep breath in, letting it out slowly. She picked her phone just in case she needed to pay for damages and stepped out of the car, putting her best sorry look. Storm felt his car jerk forward and he looked through his side mirror to see who it was. “The hell? Not my brand new baby, whoever it was will pay dearly for smashing her,” he said to himself opening his door to get down from the car. From the first view, they already knew each other. Rose took her glasses off and so did he, standing face to face with one another, hostility took charge of their actions. “I prepared a sobbed face for nothing I see,” “I should have known that it was bound to be a Blanc, who else destroys everything wherever they go?” “Even my car hates the sight of you,” “Already intimidated I see?“ Rose laughed so hard in a mocking tone before setting her face straight again, “Intimidated? Who is intimidating me? You? Oh get over yourself. “Seems like the supposed alpha who always hides behinds his daddy has returned to grace us with his presence,” “A friendly reminder Rose, things are definitely not going to remain the same way they were. Get used to coming in second place now,” “A little competition is good to set me on my toes and I love it. Get ready for the heat,” “And please, do send the payment to my insurance company, you’ve hurt my baby, oh, how does it feel to lose your most important client to me?” “It took me by surprise for sure, but now that I know you’re back, my strategy is back on it’s A-game. So just enjoy the moment while it lasts coz it’s not going to be forever.” “We’ll see about that red head.” “And don’t call me that you potato head!” She said in anger hurrying to her car in anger, slamming her door. Storm gave her a cheeky smile before driving past her making her roll her eyes. “Uugggh!!!!! I hate that he’s back! I hate him so much, he gets under my skin at the slightest.” She barged into the company with frustration and anger written on her face. “Sis, what’s going on?” Stefan asked following her into her office. “That filthy son of a b***h! Uugggghhhhh!!!” “Who?” “Storm of course! Who else would I refer to dummy?!” “You met him?” “You know, he has the guts to feel so cocky when I’ve literally smashed him all my life!” “I mean, it’s not always going to stay the same,” “Whose damn side are you on Stefan?!” “Yours of course! Jeez! Get a grip on yourself. You’re so worked up about him like you don’t believe in yourself or something.” “Just go! Get out of my office now!” “Of course I will! But I just wanted to inform you that we’re losing customers and shares as the days pass by, so you might want to hate him a little bit more to get on your so called A-game!” Stefan said before shutting the door behind him. In anger, she threw the glass she was drinking a whiskey from against the wall smashing it and screaming in frustration. “I need to go for a run!” She opened the window of her office, scanning her environment she didn’t find anyone in range. She ran into the woods changing into a werewolf, running extremely fast as she could. ~~~~ “So, as we have all heard, our rival is back in town and has pushed us to the side where unfortunately we have experienced losses than we have ever had. So, we are welcoming new ideas, new innovations because we need to be on our toes, and fight back as hard as we can just so we are not pushed out of the business market. All suggestions should be relayed to either one of us, Rose, myself or Stefan, is that understood?” “Yes boss.” Everyone chorused. “Anything else you’d like to add?” “Some of us have decided to resign, the working conditions and pay that has been offered to us is way higher and better compared to your company,” Rose got up to her feet staring at the worker dead in the eye. “What are the working conditions?” “It is less stricter,” “In what sense?” “We can use our phones during the break or when we have emergencies,” “Well that is because this is an office and…” “And we totally understand and an adjustment would be made to that. You have all always been paid on time, am I wrong?” “But six years in the company and no raise? We have helped you all achieve a lot of awards and recognitions, the least you could do is let us see it reflected in our salary.” “Are you taking note of that Stefan, a raise as well should be included. Any other dissatisfaction?” “The hostility is unbearable. We’re human beings and not machines. With all due respect this is directed to Miss Rose. She always throws her fit at us like we’re her slaves,” “We will talk to her and hopefully there will be a remarkable change in her behavior. Any more concerns?” Jack asked. Everyone shook their head. “Excellent. First of all, thank you everyone for showing up at such short notice for this meeting and like I promised it’ll be very brief. We have taken down your complaints and will work towards giving you the conditions needed for you to carry out your necessary tasks. I implore you all to just stick with us and you will not regret it. However, if you still wish to end your contract with us, you still can, but remember that when you signed, you also agreed to the consequences of leaving on such short notice. Is that clear everyone? We can now go back to our different stations.” With that everyone dispersed. “Rose, my office.” Jack said walking out of the board room. She strolled down to his office with a frown on her face, Stefan following behind. “Sit.” Stefan sat on the edge of the table while Rose sat on the chair in front of him. “We run this company together, Rose, not just you. You need to understand that these people we’re working with are human beings and not robots. If you make a mistake and turn them against us, it will have a negative impact on the company. I know you’ve been taken on aways by the return of Storm, but it shouldn’t push you to being a coward and a fool. Tone down on your harshness to these people for godsake, they’re not your slaves. Do you understand?” “Yes brother.” “Do you have any strategies in mind?” “I haven’t been able to come up with anything,” “Focus on the most important things Rose. Storm is not the same guy who left years ago. He’s back bigger and better and that means more competition for you. Keep that reminder ringing at the back of your mind. Now y’all should get out of my office, seeing your faces for five minutes straight makes me sick,” “Yeah yeah, whatever.”
