Chapter Five

Storm watched as the building exploded before his very eyes. “What the hell,” he said almost in a whisper as the papers fell from his hand. Everyone rushing out in fear, screaming their lungs out. On instinct, he ran into the burning building, his senses picking up someone in danger. The colors of his eyes changing to golden yellow, his body becoming harder and muscular, with his nails longer. “Help! Help!!” He could hear a faint voice scream for help. With his vision that was now dark blue, he saw a faint light leading to where the scream for help was coming from. He hurriedly jumped from wall to wall, grabbing on to the rails for support. He coughed so hard due to the smoke from the fire that was spreading so fast. Two heavy planks pressed against her legs making it hard for her to get up. “Help me sir, please help me.” She begged. Storm rushed to her side lifting the planks with one hand pulling her out with his other free hand then lifting her bridal style he rushed out of the building. “Is everyone out?!” He yelled. “No! My sister! My sister! She’s inside but I don’t know where she is! Please help me find her! Please!” A young lady hurried to his side screaming and begging falling to her knees. “I’ll save her!” Storm assured her before taking off into the building. He scanned the entire building but couldn’t get a signal of some sort that someone was still in the building. Just then he saw a hand outside of the door, he rushed immediately to find her unconscious, bleeding from her sides. “s**t!” He exclaimed as he picked her up and hurried outside. The fire service and ambulance arrived at the same time, pulling the stretchers out to take the injured victims. “Ohh!!! Thank you!!” She exclaimed crying when she saw him rush outside with her sister in her hand. They rushed the stretcher to him as he laid her in it and they took her into the ambulance. They sealed off the building with a tape while the fire service fought so hard to put out the fire. Storm watched as the once strong and powerful building was now burnt away, with everything gone down the drain. He walked away from the scene to his car in anger, kicking against the tires of his car. “Aarrrrrrggghhhhh!!!!!” He screamed in anger banging his fist against the car causing a dent on it as his hand was extremely strong. “What the hell just happened! What in the world just happened!” He growled again hitting the window of his car and smashing it. He kept kicking his car continuously, screaming in anger until Susan rushed to his side. “Stop it Storm! Stop it or you’ll hurt yourself!” She said pulling him away from the car. “I just returned Susan! How do I explain to father that the company he literally handed over to me couple days ago has blown up and we’ve lost customers. We’ve lost our customers to those stupid Blancs! Is that enough shame for me!” “It’s not your fault Storm that the building blew up. How would father blame you for something that’s not your fault?” “Are you… can you listen to yourself Susan. You’re asking a question with an obvious answer! When have I never been blamed for something that I wasn’t even responsible for?! Huh? As if this time will be different.” “I’ll talk to him for you,” “Yeah right Susan. Only if Celina hasn’t beat you to it!” Susan bit her bottom lip knowing fully well that her mother would have escalated the issue before they even got home. “I don’t understand, everything was fine and working when I checked it out so what went wrong?!” “I think we should think about that later because the press is rounding up and they’ll put you under pressure and you know you let loose at the slightest sense of pressure.” Reluctantly he got into the driver’s seat but she stopped him, “I don’t think so Storm, you’ll commit murder on the way. Give me your keys please,” she said stretching her hand out to him. He put the keys in her hand grumbling, “now, onto the passenger seat please.” “Driving with you is like death sentence in itself,” “Oh please, my driving is definitely better than everyone else’s at home.” Storm turned over to the passenger seat getting in, he buckled his seatbelt and let out a heavy sigh. “Thank you Susan.” “We’re siblings, of course it’s my duty to help you,” “Half siblings you mean, with a mother who hates me,” “Forget my mother, she’s just being who she is. Old and rigid,” “Hey!” He said smiling. “It’s nice to see you smiling. Let’s get this baby on the road.” “Looks like I’m meeting my mom today.” He said holding on to his seatbelt dramatically. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ “I gave you one simple job and you make a bloody mess of it!” His father screamed throwing the papers to the ground. “It’s not his fault father, how was he supposed to know the oil company was going to blow up?” “Get to your room now and stay there,” her mother said to her grabbing her by her elbow and pushing her up the stairs. “And not another word from you.” “What happened?” “I don’t know for the upteenth time! I was outside the building checking the documents out when it blew up right in my face! What exactly was I supposed to do?! Be a fortune teller and know when the building will blow up?! Of course you’re going to get mad but let it be realistic!” “You talk to me in that manner?!” “You don’t even treat me with respect! If this was any one of them you would not even lift a finger!” “That is because you are the alpha and you are supposed to take responsibility when I’m gone! How can I Rest In Peace when I don’t know if you’d burn down everything that I own!” “I’m sorry but there was nothing else that I could do!” “We have lost the most amazing customers that would have brought in a pool of money. Money!!” “We have other companies all over the world that are still bringing in the enormous in flow of cash! Just this one and you want to pull your brains out?!” “Of course you will say that. You’re not the one who built all of this from scratch and have over seen it every day of your life.” “What do you need me to do?” “Find out exactly what happened to that company and deal with it. Make sure it does not repeat itself or else…” with that he went up the stairs in anger. Just then his phone chimed, alerting that a notification had entered. He pulled his phone out and looked at his screen, Now we’re even?? Welcome back in business Reed, guess we’ll be seeing more of each other from now on. Hope you loved your little welcome back gift? Cheers Redhead❤️ “This f*****g little b***h!” He threw his phone across the room smashing it into pieces. “Damn!” He yelled kicking away the center table. Susan hurried downstairs to him, “What’s the matter?!” “Those f*****g Blancs are behind the explosion! They are the ones responsible for it. Ohhhh Rose Blanc, you’ve started a game you can’t finish. Two can play this filthy game of yours and we’re just getting started.”
