During the recess, Faye conferred with Ted Erickson and David Harris to discuss how they would respond given the direction the defense was about to undertake.
Ted spoke first. “I think we should rest our case and then see what they bring. It seems they’re trying a misdirect, which we should be able to rebut. Faye, I will get back to the office to see if we have anything on the disappearing marijuana.”
“Okay, then. I’ll rest our case. I agree the defense is likely grasping at straws.”
“Faye, be sure to watch for facts not in evidence. They’ll likely try to sneak some tidbits into the questions and the testimony of their witnesses.”
“Got it.”
