CHAPTER I
Alice Hall , 23 years, brown haired tied up in a neat bun and about 5 ft and 7 inches tall with perfect body proportions and a waist not more than 26 inches wide walks into bar X the most elite club in the city wearing an all white business suit , black heels and black shades .
She walks over and takes a seat at the counter and takes a sit on one of the stools " hey bartender " she calls the guy behind the counter , he turns around
" Who me " he asks slightly confused .
" No the ghost behind you " she says sarcastically " of course you who else is there , a glass of your strongest please "
" Okay " he pours her a glass of wine " bad day " ? he asks as he passes her the drink
Alice downs the drink in one gulp before answering him " Nope it's been a fairly good day , great even . You know today's my birthday also the day my fian- ex - fiance " she corrects her self " decided on the best way to break up with me with a headline on every major media outlet in the city announcing his engagement to his high school sweetheart so as you can see today has been an amazing day " she pushes the glass to him " refill please "
" You sure " ? He asks slightly concerned " you look like you've had a good amount to drink before now if you ask me "
" I'm not asking you , so please do your job and refill my glass " she says slightly irritated. Just as he is about to refill the glass a man in a white and black corporate wear walks behind the counter with a surprised look on his face " Mr Grayson what are you doing here " ?
Alice stares at both of them in confusion .
" I own the place honey " he says with a grin on his face exposing his perfect teeth
" So you lied " .
" No , I never said I was the bartender , a pretty lady asked for a drink and I couldn't refuse " he smiles
" Flirt " a little grin escapes her lips
" Call it whatever you want at least it got that pitiful look off your face "
Alice rolls her eyes and begins to walk away with him trailing behind her " aren't you going to ask me who I am Alice Hall ? " he asks making her stop
" How do you know my name ? " she asks surprised
He takes a step closer bringing his face down to her eye level " I work for the government and I'm on a mission that highly involves you " he said in a low voice
" What " ? She says her voice shaky causing him to burst out in laughter
" Relax I'm joking , you should have seen your face though "
She rolls her eyes in annoyance " you know I knew a Grayson a little bit more cocky than you are , turns out all Grayson's are dickheads " she says in a half drunken state as she continues to walk away
" come on we were getting along so well " he says still trailing behind
" we're we " ?
" Yes , until you found out I owned the place . Come on Alice don't tell me you've forgotten me so soon " he says jokingly holding his chest as if he were hurt
" I have no idea who you are so stop following me before I do something you'll regret "
he laughs excitedly " you should really get drunk more often I love this version of you " she replies with a death stare making his appearance serious " okay how about now " he removes her shade making her get a better glimpse of his face face in the dimly lit room " remember me now " he leans into her hear saying his next words almost in a whisper " pretty lady
Alice stands there in shock staring at his face " what did you just say " ?
" now she remembers "
" STUART " !!
" in the flesh "
" Oh lord like my day couldn't get any worse " she rolled her eyes as she spoke , then she continues to walk outside
" Alice , come on " he follows her as they walk through the crowd leaving through the back door .
" Stuart f*****g Grayson " she turns around making him stop as she massages her temples obviously stressed " I can't believe it's you "
" Yeah it's been a while " he takes a step closer " so how have you been "
she slaps him " screw you Stuart " she gets into her car and drives away
" I probably deserved that " he says to himself , just then a tall figure in a black tuxedo appears from the dark " make sure she gets home safely " he says in a serious tone before going back to the club .
