The next morning Stuart is still at sleep when a loud banging on the door wakes him up . Sluggishly , he walks over and opens the door only to find his father Paul Grayson standing there with an annoyed expression " Oh it's you " he says non chalantly still half asleep as he goes back to his bed " what do you need" ?
" It's eight in the morning " he says sounding visibly annoyed
" so " ? he asks nonchalantly
" you're supposed to be ready for work "
" my meeting doesn't start until two " he says in between a yawn
" that is not an excuse for the future C.E.O to lazy about on a work day " his voice sounding more annoyed
" exactly ' future ' CEO meaning it is not my job to oversee the company , not that you'll let me and besides what do you want me to do ? sit around and stare at the ceiling all day " ?
" If you ever dream of being the CEO someday you'll have to put in your time and effort now get ready we leave in ten " he turns around to leave but stops and adds " and I'm not asking " .
Stuart sluggishly gets out of bed grumbling as he gets ready , a few minutes later he walks down stairs in a black suit with navy blue inner as he walks past the front door he turns to one of the servants holding the door open for him " don't ever let him past the front door without my knowledge " he says coldly before leaving
At the office
Stuart is sitting on his father's chair twirling from side to side with his eyes closed when his father walks in
" What are you doing " ? get out of there
" relax , besides I'm going to be CEO very soon I just thought I'd get a feel of it " he says sounding very relaxed
" well you thought wrong , get out of there "
" fine " Stuart says in a groan as he stands up .
Paul sits down on his chair " don't you have any work to do " ?
" I'm done with all the paper work "
" no you're not " he brings out a large pile of files from his drawer and hands it over to Stuart who carries it to his office returning a few hours later
" I'm done " he says placing the file on his table
Paul stares at the files thinking of what next to say " your speech "
" thoroughly prepared anything else ? "
" no that'll be all " he says scanning Stuart's face " for now " he adds
Stuart leaves and comes back after his meeting " I'll be leaving now "
" why " ? he asks while reading a document he was holding
" my meeting is done "
" I'm having a meeting with the board of directors and other shareholders I want you to attend in my place "
" What " ? he asks surprised " you should have told me this earlier I would have prepared "
" as the future CEO , you should be prepared for anything at all times " he says calmly still reading the document in his hand
" okay " he simply relied as he had definitely expected such a response . " How much time do I have ? "
" five minutes "
" what ! "
Paul finally drops the document and looks up at him " you should relax the meeting is just about our new project the A.I bot "
" maybe I would relax if I had known we were working on a new project " he said visibly frustrated
" we haven't started yet "
" still you should tell me these things "
" and you should ask " . He checks the time on his wrist Watch " you should probably get going your five minutes are almost up " . he says as Stuart groans before leaving .
At the meeting room.
Stuart and some of the board members are seated around the rectangular table with Stuart occupying the position of the CEO " where are they ? " he asks tapping his pen on the table impatiently " time is very important they should know this .
" our business partners have never been late to a meeting before I'm sure there's a good reason behind this " Mr Don , Stuart's uncle and a member of the board says
" there had better be " just as he finished talking Alice Hall and some men in black tuxedos walk in .
" sorry for the delay " Alice began to speak , then her eyes and Stuart's meet and she pauses for a brief moment " we were caught in traffic " she completesher apoplogy before going to take a seat
" what is going on here ? " Stuart asks in confusion .
