MAMI WATER ??‍♀️ (Based on a true story) CHAPTER 1 THE ENCOUNTER. Music and pop had filled the air as we all danced to the tune of the song, it was odioma's youth carnival and all youth and teens the community had ever raised attended the night show. From the crowdy voices and chants around I began to hear echoes of my name as I cleared my eyes if I wasn't just hallucinating. The echo continued intensively as I made my way outside to clear my head,I bumped into Sara who spilled her drink on herself. "Sara.... I'm really so sorry I didn't see you there"I said apologetically. "It's fine, It's fine I can take care of it"she said cleaning her blouse. "Thank you"I altered as I was about leaving when she held me. "Where are you off to? Don't tell me you're going home so soon"she inquired. "Not exactly, I just want to catch some air. See you later" I said as I rushed out without letting her finish. "Can I foll...ow you?"she added as she discovered I had vanished. **************************** I glanced at the full moon as I walked through the bushy area, I began to hear rustling sounds and rhythms as my name echoed. "Abeo.......abeo........abeo"the solemn voice whispered. I was griped by extreme fear as I wondered who was making utterances of my name at that time of the night, the voice seemed extremely close but there was no one to claim it. "Come to me, abeo...."the voice continued . Immediately I felt a shadow run pass me as the atmosphere changed instantly,I sighted a figure standing afar from me as I looked closely without seeing the person's face. "Who's there.......is anyone there?..."i called out frighteningly. I took another glance at the unknown being as it had vanished from it's stand, i began to move backwards gradually as my heart raced like thunder. I turned instantly as someone grabbed my neck immediately making me struggle to breathe. "Hel......hel.....help" I screamed. Shockingly I started hearing laughter as I turned to see who was making the loud giggle, it was Philip. He bursted in another round of laughter as he held me. "What's the meaning of this Philip?,you scared the hell out of me...."i snapped as i tossed his hands away from my shoulder. "I'm sorry but i no know say you dey fear like this o, like you looked extremely terrified....look at veins all over your head"he giggled. "Just know that it's not funny what you just did"i said all pissed up. "It's nothing bad, I'm just having fun, and i think you should too. Are you going somewhere?"he asked. "Not really, just want to have a quick glance at the sea"i replied as i continued walking. "You're going to the sea shore alone,do you know what the time is? "He asked. "Its 1am.....is something wrong?" "Haven't you heard stories of mermaids and witches who walks at night to collect people's soul?"he said "They're just tales and myth, they aren't real or do you think they are?.... i mean mermaids?"i asked "Of course they aren't, like how do they expect us to believe some kind of supernatural creatures exist and did you know that they are said to be our enemies. A sailor doesn't suffer a mermaid to live,he kills it instantly. That's my grandma's favorite quote "he giggled. The distant echo of my name started again as i continued to walk, "Do you hear that voice Philip?"i asked as i stopped i suddenly discovered i wasn't getting a response from Philip as i turned to see he was no where around me. "Philip!......come on guy,i don't like this kind of joke o, Philip!"i called. I turned 360° as i saw noone, it was obvious he wanted to put up with another prank and it was getting me even more pissed off as i was also frightened. I decided to head back to the carnival as i bumped into Philip, i stood in extreme shock as i looked at him. he had a slit throat with blood gushing out like a bursted pipe. "She's..... she's here....."he let out as he fell to the ground and died instantly. I was shaking tremendously as i couldn't feel my legs i was about to take to my heels when i sighted a creature in front of me.........it was a lady who was covered in blood and had claws with water dripping from her body.
