CHAPTER 2

CRYSTAL

I felt my heart beat pounding slowly as i heard distant chants and noises, i opened my eyes as i saw myself on the ground with people staring at me and screaming my name.

I got up quickly as i looked around shivering, there were police cars surrounding the whole area with an ambulance, I saw immediately Philip's dead body being carried away as i rushed to him.

"Philip..... Phil...."i muttered as i had tears gathered in my eyes.

I was restricted from touching him as his body was locked in the van, a girl rushes to me as she hugged me......it was Martha my younger sister.

"abeo are you alright?"she asked "thank God"she added as she still had me to her grip.

"I'm fine Martha"i assured with tears in my eyes

"What happened to Philip?.....is he dead?"she asked.

"I.....i....."i stammered as i was interrupted by a police officer.

"We need to have a word with you abeo"one of the men altered.

I was taken into the car as Martha watched me,she was in tears too. We had sneak from the house just to attend this carnival which had just gone bloody with me placed in the middle. How was i going to explain this to my parents.

Still in the car i sighted the same creature i had seen recently glancing at me as the car drove off.

My parents had found out about the incident as they were extremely mad at us especially me because it was my idea.

"How could you abeo, don't you have common sense?.....what would have happened if something had happened to you or your sister, she's just 16"my father yelled exasperatedly.

"And i warned you when you brought up this idea, i told you it was extremely dangerous to be outside your home at that hour but you didn't listen"my mother added.

I stood there as i altered nothing, my countenance was enough to tell them i was sorry

My dad had gone through a lot that night to release me from police custody, he was fierce all through till we got home before letting his anger out.

Above all i still thought it was my fault, if i hadn't sneaked out of the house with Martha maybe this wouldn't have happened or i would perhaps not have fallen a victim. But Philip's death still was a shock to everyone especially me.

I became the talk of the school as almost everyone asked me what had happened to Philip my friend, i was tired of explaining myself and then decided to keep mute.

I was on my way to class as i bumped into a girl whose lunch fell to the ground.

"I'm sorry..... I'm really sorry"i said as i offered to get her another one.

"It's okay"she said as she looked at me.

"I'm abeo what's your name?"

"Crystal"

I had never seen such beauty through my entire life,she sparkled like the sand of the sea.

Two guys (mark and adebayo) and a girl(Gladys) approached me, these were my friends including Philip before the terrible incident.

The girl cleared her shoes as she left,i still didn't get my eyes off her.

"We're heading to Philip's house today to see his parents"Gladys said.

"Yeah we need to render our condolences,his family must really be going through a lot"mark added.

I agreed to the suggestion as we were about leaving for class when i sighted the creature again staring at me, it was a female with claws ,i could see her blue eyes like that of the ocean as i concluded she wasn't human.

She left immediately as i asked my friends to go on that i would catch up with them.

She was heading to the female restroom and that the same place i had seen the girl i bumped into divert........ perhaps she was going to kill her too.

Crystal was out of the restroom as she was about going out of the main door when she sights the female creature....she became terrified
