Weeks have passed matamos ng incident na nangyare against those guys.
"Dad.." lumingon sa gawi ko si daddy "I don't think I need a body guard so plea-"
"Anak.." He come infront of me caressing my face "I want you to be safe, I hope you understand okay?"
I just nodded wala na din naman akong magagawa kundi ang sumang-ayon s gusto ni daddy. Even my mom gusto na may body guard ako nag panic lang sila sa nangyareng incident nung nakaraang araw.
I arrived at the school kasama ang dalawa kong body guard.
Just wait for me here.. Nandito naman sila Zach and It's so awkward pag papasok pa kayo pati sa class room"
"Sorry Ma'am Zariyah, but we can't do that," one of my bodyguards said clearly. His firm tone left no room for negotiation.
"Kuya!!" I heard Chandria shouting, her voice filled with frustration. I immediately turned to look at her. Rad was walking away from Chandria, ignoring her completely. His attention then shifted to me.
"Looks like your dad's also tightening security," he said, continuing to walk past me.
Chandria was visibly pissed, her face flushed with anger. I could see the tension in her posture, her fists clenched at her sides.
"Why do they have to be so overbearing?" she muttered under her breath, clearly exasperated.
I sighed, feeling the weight of the situation. "It's for our safety," I said, trying to sound reassuring even though I shared her frustration. "But I get it, it's suffocating."
Chandria shot me a look that said she wasn't convinced. "This is too much, Zariyah. We can't even breathe without them on our heels."
I nodded, understanding her point. The security measures had indeed become more stringent, and it was starting to affect our daily lives. "I'll talk to them," I said, trying to offer some consolation. "Maybe we can find a balance."
Chandria huffed but seemed to appreciate the gesture. "I hope so," she said, her voice softening slightly. "This is driving me crazy."
Chandria sighed heavily, her frustration still evident, but her anger subsiding. "I'm sorry, Zariyah," she said, her voice softer now, tinged with regret. "I didn't mean to cause so much trouble."
I looked at her, my heart softening. "It's okay, Chandria," I replied gently. "I understand how you feel. This whole situation is tough on all of us."
She gave a small nod, her shoulders relaxing a bit. "I just... I hate feeling so trapped," she admitted. "But I know they're just trying to keep us safe."
I reached out and squeezed her hand. "We'll find a way to manage this," I promised. "We'll talk to them and see if we can ease up on some of these restrictions. You're not alone in this."
Chandria smiled faintly, appreciating the support. "Thanks, Zariyah. I really needed to hear that."
"Zariyah!" A man from behind shout it was Luis he waved his hands on me and agad agad na nag lakad papalapit saakin.
"Hey! It's okay... I know him," I tried to stop the bodyguards, but it seemed like they couldn't hear me. They continued to push Luis away from me.
"I said I know him... he's not a threat," I insisted, trying to convince them.
"Opo, I'm not a bad person. Magkaibigan po kami," Luis added, his voice calm but firm.
"Sorry, Miss Zariyah, pero kabilin-bilinan po nila sir na walang ibang makakalapit sa inyo," one of the bodyguards replied. It was clear that I had no control over the situation. They were watching me so closely, and it seemed only they knew who could approach me.
I felt a surge of frustration and helplessness. The security around me was suffocating, and it felt like my freedom was slipping away. Just as I was about to protest further, Raz came into view.
With a calm but authoritative gesture, Raz signaled the guards to let go of Luis. Without a word, they obeyed him, stepping back.
Raz looked at me, his eyes filled with understanding. "Looks like things have gotten a bit too tight," he said softly. But as his gaze shifted to Luis, his expression hardened. I expect this to happen but how come my body guards didn't listen to me but listen to Raz.
"Salamat, pre" Luis said. Luis extended his hand to thank Raz, but Raz ignored it. Instead, he grabbed my wrist gently but firmly, guiding me away. I noticed the bodyguards weren't following us anymore, giving us a rare moment of privacy.
A part of me is hoping na he also likes me that's why he said that, but a part of me also thinks na baka he's just being overprotective.
I finished my class and go to the restroom para mag retouch the body guards are here na after Raz left. I signaled them na pupunta akong restroom at dun nalang nila ako intayin. I was about to go sa restroom ng may humila saakin sa stock room covering my mouth.
I shifted my weight slightly, feeling the solid ground beneath my feet. With all the force I could muster, I lifted my foot and brought it down hard on the attacker's foot. I aimed for the top of their foot, hoping to cause enough pain to make them loosen their grip.
"Aray ko.. Zariyah It's me Luis" he's still holding her right foot.
"Oh my! sorry Luis" I panicked dinaluhan ko siya sa sahig at hinawakan ang paa niya "Sorry I didn't know it was you.. bakit naman kasi hinila mo ako dito sa stock room ha"
"Sorry.. Zariyah gusto lang kasi kita makausap." I looked at him intently
"Why would you want to talk to me? Do you want to say anything?"
"Ahh.. a-ano wa-wala naman.." I just looked at him he looks nervous pero hindi ko alam kung anong dahilan. "Diba magkaibigan na tayo.. ayon that's the reason kaya I want to talk with you.. Diba ganon naman talaga ang magkaibigan?"
"No," he said firmly, cutting me off. I caught a glimpse of anger in his eyes as he spoke, but it quickly vanished when he saw me looking at him.
"I mean, no, kasi diba magkaibigan tayo, Zariyah? Sabi mo hindi ka katulad ng mga elite dito, diba?"
His words stung a bit, and I could feel the tension rising. I understood his frustration, but the situation was out of my control. The security measures were strict, and I had to comply, even if it meant keeping my friends at a distance.
"Luis, it's not about that," I tried to explain, my voice softening. "It's just... things are complicated right now. I don't want you to get into trouble because of me."
He sighed, his shoulders slumping slightly. "I get it, Zariyah. It's just hard, you know? Kasi sabi mo magkaibigan na tayo pero ayan ka at lumalayo. Ganyan nga siguro kayong mga mayayaman" Tatayo na sana siya at aalis i felt someting in my chest
"You don't understand its not how you think it is-"
"Hindi Zariyah alam ko we're not the same.. Magkaibang magkaiba tayo. Siguro nga nag iilusyon lang ako na pwedeng maging magkaibigan ang tulad mo sa tulad ko" tears started to fall in his cheecks. I noticed it at dali daling inabot sakanya ang tissue na hawak ko.
"Sorry Zariyah ha. Akala ko lang pwede. Akala ko maipagtatanggol mo ako sakanila, Akala ko kami lang magiging sunud sunuran sainyo pero mukang ikaw din sunod sunuran ka lang sakanila. pero sige ako nalang ang lala-"
I stop him right a way when I heard that. Sunod sunuran? maybe I was sunod sunuran nga my heartfelt something.
"What can I do for you to not make you feel that way?" I asked him this time I was very confident to not be sunod sunuran to them.
"Let's go lunch together.."
"Okay" I agreed abot tenga ang ngiti niya ng madinig ang sagot ko.
